#Rampage – November 17, 2013

Renala glances towards the hole, then back at Steve. "Do you want to go first?" she asks with a lowered voice, "My armor might help if there's a gun pointed at the other end, though."

Steve gestures towards the hole, sweeping a hand at it. "Good point. Lead on." he says reaching out with his SMG, "Take it. Won't do me any good behind ya."

Renala reaches out to take the weapon, then stops. "Oh," she says, realization coloring her expression. "I'll make noise crawling through, which might alert whoever's on the other end if they're not watching it."

Renala nods, taking the gun. "Point taken," she says before crouching down before the hole. Without another word, she places the weapon on the hip of her armor and begins crawling through the hole, the tips of her crest occasionally hitting the ceiling.

Gisle| The tunnel begins curving upward and to the right after two meters (6.5ft), making it not possible to see the end of it from their point of view.

Steve leans against the wall as the asari enters the dark hole. Once she's fully inside, he crouches behind her and slowly inches into the passage, putting his hands out and against the walls to feel for any potential sharp edges

Gisle| The walls, as well as the ceiling of the tunnel, have a small number of sharp protrusions. Renala's crests' tip might have met some of them. The floor is free of them, however.

Steve does his best to avoid any of the sharp outcroppings as he slowly follows behind Renala

Renala continues onward, not really noticing the a small cut on the tip of her crests despite the very thin trickle of blood emerging from it. She looks around the corner as she begins ascending to wherever this tunnel is ending.

Steve continues to follow Renala around the bend, taking a few nicks on the palms of his hands as he feels his way through.

Gisle| The tunnel is very dark from that point on, to the point where seeing the walls is nearly impossible.

Renala keeps crawling through it, gritting her teeth as she hit a particularly sharp bit of rock while checking the walls. A biotic shimmer forms around her as she prepares for whatever's on the other end.

Steve cusses under his breath as another sharp edge cuts into his hand. "Careful, Ren." he whispers, "Quite a few sharp rocks."

Gisle| It seems to be a little bit brighter ahead of them, implying they're not too far away from the other end.

Renala nods. "I've noticed," she responds in a whisper. "The hard way, of course." She continue crawling, keeping her eyes peeeled forward.

Steve quiets down, slowing his movements as the light comes into view.

Gisle| It gets a little brighter, and they might notice the ascent coming to an end, but the tunnel's end is not visible yet.

Renala slows down as well, trying to place her armored parts down as quitely as possible. She reaches the top of the curving ascent, and looks forward.

Gisle| The light gets quite a bit brighter, and its color and flicker implies its of a fire-based light-source rather than an electric one. Ahead of Renala is the end of the tunnel, but no gun pointing at it. There's the sound of footsteps getting slightly louder, however, and some mocking deep muttering that's indistinguishable; the voice sounds like a human male.

Steve continues quietly behind Renala, unable to see much past her due to the cramped nature of the tunnel.

Renala makes some incredibly slow moves before coming to a halt about a meter (~3.5ft) away from the exit.

Gisle| There's not much to see of the room from within the tunnel, but the area around the exit is riddled with rocks likely from a quick last batch of the tunnel. The footsteps comes to a stop followed by the muffled sound of someone sitting down in a chair.

Steve stops as well, beginning to feel a bit anxious being so close to the exit, he attempts to peek around Renala.

Renala takes a few slow movements towards the exit, reaching for her SMG. She stops again just inside the exit, listening to check if there's any reaction.

Gisle| "Huh?" a voice in the room can be heard. "Who's there?" There's no sounds of footsteps, however.

Steve inches his way up behind Renala, stopping abruptly as the voice is heard. He remains quiet and motionless, looking towards the ground as he attempts to get a fix on the location of the voice.

Renala also remain motionless, slowly moving the SMG to aim before her; it doesn't hit anything.

Gisle| He stands up, by the sound of it, and takes a few steps towards the hole. "Anyone there?" he asks. His location seems to be out the hole and to the left.

Renala doesn't move, her eyes peeled forward as well as the SMG's aim. The biotic shimmer around her person is still present.

Steve slows his breathing and braces himself against the wall, waiting for the bandits approach.

Gisle| The footsteps come to a halt beside the hole and a young man sticks his head infront of it, a hand placed ontop its entrance. "Huh?" he asks with a raised brow. "' the fuck are you doing here?" He reaches for a weapon.

Renala doesn't hesitate before letting go of a biotic throw aimed at the human.

Steve places a hand on Renala's shoulder, urging her forward, hoping to get out of the cramped tunnel so he can defend himself.

Gisle| The man falls back, grunting as his back impacts against the floor, and his head against the opposite wall. He sits back up, seeming a bit disoriented.

Renala takes the hint and crawls out of the tunnel quickly, getting to her feet as the she keeps the SMG aimed at the human.

Steve climbs out of the tunnel behind Renala and takes a quick look around for any more threats and to get the layout of the room before doing anything else.

Gisle| The room is not large, but slightly oblong. There's a doorway on the opposite wall near the corner to the left (about 10 feet away from Steve's position) There's a double-bed perpendicular to the right wall. It doesn't look too high-class, but beats the bunks downstairs by a long shot. There's a desk and a comfortable chair against the wall to the left. The main looks up at the two, reaching for a pistol on the floor beside him. As for anything else, it really looks like the room was robbed clean, as there's nothing of value to be seen. The doorway seems to lead into a hallway.

Steve breaks into a sprint towards the man, hoping to plant a knee into his head before he can get a a shot off with the pistol.

Renala remains near the hole, looking at the doorway while Steve takes care of the bandit.

Gisle| The man is about to grab onto the Predator pistol when a knee hit his head and it impacts against the wall. He goes limp, falling over to the right.

Steve quickly takes the bandit's pistol and grabs the man by the leg, pulling him away from the wall and flat onto his back. He begins searching through any pockets or storage compartments he can find on the man, glancing worriedly towards the door every few seconds as he does.

Renala steps towards the doorway, Locust aimed towards it.

Gisle| Searching the bandit's pockets, Steve would find two thermal clips, a credit chit and an energy bar similar to the ones they found downtstairs.

Steve quickly pockets all of the spoils and presses his knee against the man's throat. Without giving it a second thought, he presses his weight down in an attempt at crushing the man's windpipe.

Gisle| The man puts up as much of a fight as an unconcious person woruld, which means the man stops breathing after a few seconds.

Gisle| Through the doorway is a short hallway, roughly 5 meters (16 feet) long. There's a door on the right wall very near the opposite end of it. It's closed, but doesn't seem to be locked.

Steve stares down at the man for a moment longer as he climbs back to his feet and wipes at the sweat beading on his forehead. He looks towards Renala and gives a quick nod towards the door before hastily stacking up on one side of the opening and giving the Predator pistol a once over.
