Jason makes his way through the hall towards Renala's office, still in his black fatigues, boots and a long-sleeved white shirt. Once outside of the office, he prods the interface, giving the room a buzz. "Hey Renala, you in there?" he calls as he leans against the doorframe, "I need to talk."

Renala opens the door remotely from her terminal before standing up. "I was about to leave, actually," she says, "but I've got time to talk." She's wearing a blue top under a halfway zipped-up white fleece jacket, and simple gray jeans. She both looks and sounds tired.

The office is rather tidy except for a few boxes stowed in a corner and the nearly overflowing trash can which contain fast food packaging, energy drinks and plastic wrapping. The left wall has nine vid screens showing the hallways and other non-private rooms.

The opposite wall has two big screens with a simple interface showing a grid of stuff that's reportedly 'online' with a few 'offline's here and there. The logo ontop of that interface is the faint outlines of a salarian's head with the text 'Overseer'.

The desk has two terminals on it, as well as 3 datapads stacked ontop of each other. There are no other chairs than the one behind the desk, however.

Jason gives a few short nods and steps into the room, giving a quick glance over. "So..." he begins, attempting to ease into his questioning with some small talk, "...how is it all coming along? Everything-... uhh-... working?"

Renala nods. "Everything that's critical," she says. "Well, most of the time." She glances to the closed door leading to the server room. "The VI is almost ready, too, but I'm waiting on the chief's input."

Jason gives a couple more nods, his gaze lowering to the floor momentarily as he slips his hands into his pockets. "Sounds good." he says, returning his attention to the asari. "Just-... you know. Keep doing what you're doing." He offers a short smile that quickly fades away. "So look, I've got something I need to check up with you about. It's a bit-... strange. I just sort of need to

get to the bottom of this before it blows up and becomes something bigger than it needs to be, alright? I don't want you to feel like I'm accusing you of anything, I just wanna hear your side of the story. So-.... no accusations. No judgement here. Understand?" he sighs, instantly feeling uncomfortable.

Renala raises an eyebrow, looking a little nervous as she thinks back to whatever wrong she might have done the agency. "Uh, I think," she says. "What's this about?"

Jason removes a hand from his pocket and scratches at the back of his neck, the discomfort clear on his face. "I-.... Uhh... So I'm just gonna go ahead and come right out with it. Va'ynna came to me because her mom thinks you stole her car." he says, almost spitting it out. There. Like a band-aid. One motion. "So.... Did you steal her car? She's requesting footage from the Respite and

I just wanna get behind this before it becomes a real problem." He tilts his head to the side as he studies the asari's face, trying his best not to sound like he's accusing her of anything.

Renala raises her brows, then sighs. "Why would I do that?" she says. "I'm.... There's always taxis and your shuttle whenever I need transport for a job."

Jason nods quickly in response. "Yeah. Yeah, that's what I told V. Her mom seems convinced, though." He gives a shake of his head and shrugs, "I don't really know what to tell her. I'm gonna call her out to sit down and talk with me about this. According to V, her mom is being hounded to pay a whole lot of credits that she just doesn't have on-hand. I told her I'd help her mom out...

It might help if you stop by and just assure her you had nothing to do with any of this."

Renala sits back down. "Fuck," she sighs, and looks at the terminal, staying quiet for a few seconds. "I'm about ready to pass out, and I'm sure this isn't going to go away.... Yeah, I may have taken the car." She looks up at Jason. "It has nothing to do with the agency," she continues, sounding defensive. "I was off work, and not working for anyone else either."

Jason blinks a few times. A short silence passes before he lets out a loud groan and brings a hand up to his face. "Dammit, Renala! Why!? You said it yourself, if you needed a ride I could've sent Jasper to pick you up! No charge! Were you just bored? Then get a hobby! Learn how to knit! Crochet a thing! Make some socks or something! Why the fuck would you steal a car!? And from

a client of ours, no less!"

Renala frowns. "I had to be somewhere really fucking quick and that was the only sky-car in sight," she says. "That's the long and short. I do regret that it was hers, though."

Jason tilts his head back and stares up at the ceiling, nodding to himself. "So naturally the best way of achieving this is through robbery..." he mutters, "And where is her car now?" he asks, sounding exhausted by the conversation as he attempts to calm himself down by sucking a few deep breaths in through his nose.

Renala looks at the terminal. "I don't remember," she says. "I disposed it out of town and walked home." She sighs. "Aren't we at the bottom of this now?"

Jason lowers his gaze back to the floor and puts his hand on his hip. "Are we at the bott-... No! We're not. Where the fuck is her car? Why did you steal it, Renala? What am I supposed to tell her?" he spits out in rapid fire succession, "This is a mess..."

Why do you have to tell her anything?

Renala tilts her head and looks up at him. "Offer her work, and front her payment for a couple jobs," she says. "She gets to pay her debt, and this goes away."

She gets to pay her debts that you caused!

Jason groans and shifts in place. "I've got a better idea. You've got a couple days to either get her car back, or come up with a way to pay off her debt. This hole was dug by you. I'll mediate, but I'm certainly not dumping Agency resources into a situation you caused just because you decided you wanted to see if you could steal someone's car."

Renala sighs. "Fine," she says. "I'll go look for it. I hid it out of the way, but I think I left it functional... except for the tracker." She stands up from her seat. "Just... keep it between you and me for now, okay?"

Jason stares right through Renala. "You have two days." he says with a sigh, "Don't make me regret signing you on, Renala. Seriously. The last thing I want to do is to have to let you go. Please, just fix this."

Renala glances at the door beside her, and snorts. "That would cost you more than just handing her the credits," she says. "But yeah, I'll go look for the car tomorrow."

Jason sighs loudly and turns towards the door. "And we're not done here. I'm going to expect a full explanation on why you felt the need to steal someone's car. Like it or not, our reputation rests on the shoulders of all of you. I can't keep someone employed that might potentially drive off future clients. Especially if they need to worry that we might rob them after they pay us!

This shouldn't need to be said. I didn't expect something like this out of you. Victoria? Sure. But you?" He gives a disappointed shake of his head as he begins to head out of the room.

Renala sighs. "Let's leave it at getting the car back," she says. "This has nothing to do with her being a client."

Jason repeats himself, getting slightly louder. "I'm going to expect a full explanation on why you felt the need to steal someone's car. Whether or not her being a client had any bearing on your decision doesn't fucki-..." he pauses and takes a deep breath, attempting to calm himself. He looks back over at the asari, "The fact stands that she is a client. Which makes this a problem

for the Agency. Perhaps you should've considered that before you ran around stealing cars. Get. It. Back." He stomps out into the hall, cussing under his breath.

Renala nods. "I don't always meet your expectations," she says before tapping on her terminal to close the door.

Jason remains just outside the door, stewing for a few moments and mouthing every string of expletive he can at the door before stomping off childishly towards his office, purposely lifting his legs high and slamming them down so Renala can hear his anger.

Renala makes no reaction that can be heard through the wall.

Vasquez is standing around the corner in the corridor, leaning against the wall. Her gaze follows Jason as he storms past towards his office, but she doesn't say anything.

Jason continues past Vasquez and right to his office. "Always something!" he shouts, "It never fails! There's always something!"

Vasquez pushes off the wall and follows Jason into the office. She crosses her arms once in the office. "I heard the yelling from my office... let's hear it."

Jason slumps into his seat and kicks the side of his desk. He stares down for a few moments before responding to Vasquez. "Renala needs a fucking hobby." he says, "She stole V's mother's car, and now V-Mom is one pissed off customer. I'm handling it." he scowls. "She couldn't even tell me why!" he says, becoming more animated once again as the frustration returns. "Who does that!?

If she needed a ride, Jasper literally has no life! He does nothing all day besides read self-help articles and play Sudoku! There's nothing stopping her from calling him. Instead? She steals a fucking car-.... from our client!! And ditches it somewhere. Why?"

Jasper just so happens to be passing through the hall. He perks up at the mention of his name, but slumps his shoulders as he hears the rest and slowly mopes towards the hangar.

Vasquez covers her face with her palm, letting out an exasperated grunt. "Please tell me you're joking..."

Jason leans forward, placing his forearms on his desk. He slowly shakes his head from left to right, staring Vasquez in the eyes, deadpanning her. He lets out a loud sigh, "I gave her two days to return the car or come up with some sort of way to pay off the debt..."

Vasquez lets out a loud groan, looking up at the ceiling. "Fucking hell... we do not need this right now. I had Renala pinned as one of our more reliable people..."

Jason throws his hands up. "Me too! This is such a Victoria thing to do! Not Renala at all!"

Vasquez meets Jason's gaze. She takes a deep breath and then lets out another grunt, pointing at him. "You-... you've got this under control, yeah? I don't have time to deal with this shit."

Jason sighs and tilts his head to the side, completely (and obviously) lacking confidence in any sort of good outcome to this ordeal. "Absolutely. Don't worry about it." he says with a nod, "Got a job offer for you to go over, too... A krogan approached me down at the Respite. Might be worth a look, but it's a bit time sensitive. Give me a few hours to get the details together and I'll

have you look over them, alright?"

Vasquez raises an eyebrow. "Yeah, sure." She says, nodding a few times while moving towards the door. "Send it my way. We need work."

Jason nods. "Considering there's no way of knowing how many people are going to show up claiming we owe them a car, we should probably take whatever we can get." he says sarcastically, but the frustration is clear in his voice.

Vasquez seems about to say something, but then exits with only a sigh.

Jason drums his fingertips against the top of his desk as she leaves the room. Once she's gone, he grabs a coffee cup off his desk and tosses it against the wall. The resilient cup just hits the wall and plops to the ground, entirely intact and upright. He stares at the cup for a few moments, the derpy smiling krogan on the front of the cup staring back at him, before getting up and

placing the cup back on his desk.
