#SaintLucia – March 27, 2016
The Saint Lucia is landed in a large, open-roof hangar accessed directly from the outside of the Freedom Falls spaceport. The ship is frigate-sized, a clean research vessel with a silver metallic color. The shape would no doubt be familiar to Jason and Ilyna, the design sharing several similarities with that of the Evening Star. Four large engine nacelles, angled vertically, double as landing gear. The bridge sticks out at the front
of the ship, with large, angled windows giving a view in most directions. Beneath it is an open ramp leading into the cargo hold. Several people, mostly humans as well as a few asari and vorcha are busy loading cargo in crates. A hulking Triton mech is being walked into the ship, the ramp shuddering. A human man in an ExoGeni uniform is arguing with a group of quarians by the entrance to the hangar - from the sound of it they had been
caught trying to strip parts from one of the expedition vehicles. Redrock's personnel, upon approaching the hangar, would find that there are several quarians camped outside, their ships not far from the spaceport. Stalls, shacks and tents have been erected around the ships, forming a small village. Sparks are flying from repairwork on the ships, quarian street vendors are yelling out to people on their way to this part of the port
and there is even a holographically enhanced theater performance being performed in one corner of the makeshift streets formed by the sprawl of shacks and stalls over the grounds outside the spaceport. A group of militia officers can be seen inspecting the goods of one merchant.
Jason is near the open ramp, having arrived before many of the others. A few crates are stacked near him of supplies for the trip, including his armor and weaponry. He's still dressed as he was earlier and awaiting someone from the ship to assist him as he sits atop a crate.
Nathan approaches fully decked out in his blazing read armour with orange accents. His helmet is on with rebreather and visor. He's hefting a large duffle bag filled with his belongings. He had arranged for the container full of grenades to arrive shortly before him. He throws a wave towards Jason as he approaches, admiring the mech as it walks into the ship. "...I
Ilyna is approaching the ramp, upping her pace once she spots Jason. She has a backpack and a travel bag with her with her luggage, since she had to go home to fetch it. "Hey," she says with a nod. "Ready to go?" She's wearing a dark blue jacket over her casual dress.
Tarkus is standing next to Jason, already in his armor and weapons on his back. Tarkus did not have much to do around town, so he was just waiting until Redrock could board the ship. His weapons were a phaeston, phalanx, a mantis and a katana shotgun.
Jessica arrives a short while after Ilyna. She's hefting a large case by the handle with one hand and a dufflebag is draped over her other arm. As she spots the others grouping up, she approaches them. "Are we just setting our shit here for now...?" she asks tentatively as she sets her case down besides Jason's and slings her bag atop it.
Artullin arrives with a dufflebag of his own. The turian is still dressed as he was earlier. He simply stands to the side and watches the assembled.
Jason gives a chuckle as Nathan approaches. He leans back, placing his palms against the top of the crate he's sitting on to prop himself up. "I don't know, that old man is scrappy." he jokes as he spots Ilyna, giving her a small wave. "Just waiting for them to come pick our stuff up." he says with a sigh, rhythmically kicking his heel against the side of the crate. As the others arrive,
he greets each in turn with a nod and motions for them to put their gear with the rest of the crates.
The three quarians arguing with the man in the ExoGeni uniform finally decide leave when two armed guards join him. A mumble of "Bosh'tet..." can be heard from one of them as they pass out of the hangar. The human, looking to be in his late fourties, with graying black hair and a matching moustasche, as well as a military-style cap, approaches the rapidly growing group of Redrock personnel, turning to Jason - it's clear he knows who
Uvena is making her way towards the ship, though she doesn't seem to be in a hurry. Her attention is drawn towards the vertiable quarian camp. She is not carrying her luggage with her.
Ilyna steps forward and leaves her travel bag next to Nathan's, but her backpack remains on her person.
Jason hops off of the crate and extends his own hand to the man. "That's correct." he says as he gives the man's hand a firm shake. "Nobody told us where to gather, so we're just kind of waiting around. Hope that's not a problem...?"
Jasper arrives after a few more moments, having dropped all the Redrock gear off with the shuttle and then returned it to the Agency before catching a taxi back. Korio Ara is close behind him with a single case and dressed in a long grey jacket with matching pants. Jasper is in usual fashion, coveralls and a cap.
Volkoff shakes his head. He speaks with a light southern accent. "No, that's fine. We're about ready to load up your gear I expect. Boatswain should be on it shortly. I'm Security Chief Volkoff. Just need your confirmation that your team is here and accounted for - and that no one that isn't on it is trying to sneak onboard."
Nathan hums and walks away for a moment, letting the boss conduct his business. He removes the rebreather and pulls out a cigarette, placing it between his lips. He flips out his lighter and strikes it before bringing the flame to the cigarette. A thin trail of smoke is blown away with the gentle breeze as he flicks the lighter closed and puts it away. He puffs out
Jason gives a quick glance around to take a head count as Jasper and Korio make their appearance. "This is it." he says, pointing out the two aforementioned, "They're with us, too. Do we have permission to board, Chief Volkoff, or should we wait for the boatswain to handle our equipment first?"
Quarian approaches Uvena, holding up an intricately woven robe. "Can I interest you in fine, handcrafted robes? Clothing befitting someone of such beauty must be hard to come by out here near the Terminus!" He holds up the robes at eye-height, partially blocking the asari's path.
Volkoff nods and brings up his omni-tool. There is a holographic flicker as he scans Jason. "You're free to come on board." He says, stepping aside and looking out at the quarians along with his two guards, both human. The cargo hold of the ship contains several vehicles. A rover, a tank, diving mechs, a shuttle and various snow vehicles. A large laser drill mounted on threads is another notable feature.
Uvena stops, and looks it over. "I'm sorry," she says. "I would love to shop around weren't I going to hold up an entire research ship doing so." She gives an apologetic smile before stepping aside and continuing towards the ship.
Nathan turns to gaze up the ramp. His eyes widen under his visor as he sights the myriad of technological goodies. "Aw man... I love this job," he says quietly.
Jason remains beside Volkoff and waves all of the others over. "Let's go." he instructs, "Just leave anything you don't want to carry with you right here. They'll load it up." He remains in place, waiting for the others to board first.
Another quarian would make a quick pass while Uvena is distracted, taking any omni-tool or credit chits if such may be found in easily accessible pockets.
Uvena doesn't have any credit chits on her person, but the quarian is able to take her omni-tool. Not without her noticing, however, and she fires off a stasis field at them just two seconds later. "Hey, give that back!"
Nathan has turned back around to finish off his cigarette with haste, seeing that he needs to load up. The cigarette quickly diminishes to an ashen stump. He drops it on the ground and stamps it out, then raises his gaze to the commotion across the hangar. He folds his arms across his chest and watches, content with seeing how Uvena handles the little thief.
Jessica gives Jason a nod but jogs over to Nathan rather than boarding immediately. "I just wanna apologize for earlier. I think we started off on the wrong foot. I know I can be a bit..... abrasive?" she says with a wince, "I didn't mean anything by it. I don't want to end up on anyone's shit list before I've even gotten a chance, ya know? Are we good?" she asks as her attention is drawn to Uvena's ruckus. She cocks an
The quarian thief doesn't do much of anything, due to being stasised and all. The omni-tool is in her hand.
Nathan hums and glances down at Jessica. He pops up his visor and, by the crinkling of his eyes, would be smiling. "Hey, no problem. And I'm sorry for being such a... dick," he admits. "So yeah, we're good." He looks back to the scene and chuckles, turning to walk back to his gear seeing as Uvena has it all under control. "I know I can waffle on sometimes and that
Uvena walks over to her and wrenches the omni-tool out of her grip. She charges her biotics again as she takes a step back. "You take anything else?" she asks. The stasis wears off about five seconds later.
Jason sighs at problems arising before they've even started their journey. "One moment." he says, holding up a single synthetic finger to Chief Volkoff with an apologetic tilt of his head. He jogs in Uvena's direction, gazing at the quarian. "What's the problem?"
Korio seems less interested in the ruckus with the quarian and starts towards the ramp, giving Nathan a bow of his head as their paths cross. "Impressive vessel, is it not?" he asks the man idly as he continues up the ramp.
Jessica snorts and folds her arms across her chest. "Well, at least you're aware of it.." she jokes before turning on her heels and starting up the ramp. "I'll catch ya inside." she says with a small wave.
Nathan grabs his duffle bag and, upon being addressed by the drell, glares at him. He grunts an affirmative as he walks up with the Drell. He nods to Jessica as she starts inside.
Bort happens to be passing by Korio, carrying a crate. They are a well-groomed vorcha, fairly small and dressed in a t-shirt and shorts. "Yes! Most impressive! Much science to do!" the vorcha hisses.
Uvena pockets her omni-tool. "She tried stealing my omni-tool," she says. "Serves me right for being polite with their street sellers."
Jason glares at the quarian. "Did you take anything else?" he asks, folding his arms across his chest.
Korio doesn't respond to the vorcha, although he acknowledges him with another nod and continues onto the ship.
Thief raises her hands. "I didn't take anything!" she exclaims before turning to leave at a brisk pace.
Jasper follows Nathan up the ramp and lets out a loud whistle as the cargo hold gear comes into view. "We're gon' have us some fun, Ten ol' buddy." he says with a chuckle.
Jason reaches out to clasp a hand on the thief's shoulder. "You're not going anywhere yet. Uvena, check your shit." he instructs.
Pablo walks up the ramp into the cargo hold, hauling a small cart full of power cells. He's a large, muscular man in his 30s, bald and wearing a worn jumpsuit. He secures the power cells near the drill.
Nathan turns to Jasper, being thankful for the old man's timely arrival. "Damn right we are," he says with a similar chuckle. "Tanks, mechs, shuttles... this is gonna be awesome~" he sings as he enters the cargo-bay, immediately making a beeline for the tank, his keen (nerdy) knowledge on tanks allowing him to identify it.
Jasper follows alongside Nathan. "Now. I ain't one to hope fer' trouble. But I'm jus' gonna toss this one out there: We run into a toilet fulla bootychatter out there, an' I'm takin' control a' this thing. Understand?" he says, challenging Nathan's dibs on the tank.
Thief stops with a frustrated sigh, turning back around and making a rude quarian-specific gesture with her hand. "I didn't take anything! Leave me alone!" she says loudly, spreading her arms.
Uvena checks her pockets, one by one. "Nothing else is missing," she says before staring down the quarian. "That's a lie and you know it."
Jason nods a few times. "Except you did considering you had her omni-tool in your hand when I walked up. If you didn't take anything else, then you won't mind standing here with us while she checks. Or we could just give a ring to the militia and see how they feel about all of this...?" As Uvena speaks he gives a nod. "Get out of here." he sighs, releasing his grip on the quarian's
Nathan slowly turns to Jasper and glowers down at the man. "Jasper. My friend," he says as he leans in closer. "I don' think so. -I- actually have training with commanding a tank." Of course, it was brief and he probably can't remember half of it, but Jasper doesn't need to know that. "...Rock, paper, scissors?"
Linora stands near the elevator in the cargo hold, along with the rest of the Syranis Foundation research group, of whom she is the leader. They are all dressed in identical field research outfits. White, formfitting, with the only difference between them being secondary color. She's watching the loading process with mild interest.
Nathan drops his duffle bag with a thud and holds out his hands, one open, palm up to the ceiling. The other is clenched into a fist and resting on the palm. "Ready?"
Jessica approaches the elevator with Korio in tow and pauses briefly, looking about as if she's not sure where to go.
Korio stops beside the human and looks to the research group nearby. "We are with the security team." he drawls, "We have not been instructed on where to go. If you could be so kind..."
Plask is standing next to Linora, wearing a lab coat. They're a lanky vorcha, but cleaner and softer than most of their kind kind, like all of the vorcha in the Syranis Foundation.
Jasper gives a nod and holds his hand out in a fist as well. "Awright now, ain't no cheatin'! One, two, three, shoot!" he counts down, tossing out 'rock'.
Nathan counts down with Jasper and throws out a 'paper' at the same time as him. As he sees his result, he pumps a fist and cheers. "Booyah!"
Jasper quickly lays his hand out flat and switches to scissors. "Nuh uh, false start. My point." he declares, quickly balling his fist up.
Spencer finishes securing the last of the Triton mechs, and turns around upon hearing the drell adress the researchers. He gestures at the elevator. "You're gonna want to be heading up to the second floor, the passenger quarters are clearly marked. Oh, uh... if you're carrying any weapons, go to the third floor first to drop them off in the armory. Spread the word to the rest of your people, yeah?" He says with a smile before
Nalota is among the research group. The relatively young asari maiden has a faint lilac hint to her blue skin, and simple dark blue markings on her cheeks. She glances over at the new arrivals, but she doesn't let her gaze linger too long on anyone in particular.
Nathan blinks and looks down at the evil cheating little old man. However, being the kind hearted and generous soul that he is, he plays along. "...Fine, fine. You win. But then I get to pilot the mechs, got it?"
Uvena holds up her hand towards the fleeing quarian, contemplating something violent to make an example of her. The asari thinks better of it, however, and the biotic energy instead dissipate.
Korio bows his head in thanks. "You have my appreciation." he says, bringing his omni-tool out to send a quick message to the rest of the team regarding where to go and the note about the weaponry. As soon as he's done he taps the elevator's call button.
Jasper raises his arms straight up, rigidly, in a victory celebration. "You got yerself a deal!" he says. "Place is like a toystore, eh?" he continues, glancing around the cargo hold, "Two weeks with this gear..."
Nathan sighs wistfully, eyeing the glorious array of toys. "Aye, two weeks of bliss," he sighs. He glances at his omni-tool as a message chimes through regarding locations. "Well, better go stow my shit in the armoury and claim myself a bed in the guest rooms. See you, Jasper." he hefts his dufflebag and starts off, throwing a wave over his shoulder at the old
Jasper gives a small wave. "You do that, Ten. I'm gonna just wait 'round here a bit. See if they bring anymore goodies onboard."
Jason shakes his head and lets out a deep sigh as he watches the quarian walk away. "Don't let it bother you." he says, glancing to Uvena and cocking a thumb towards the ship, "How about we get onboard? Just toss your stuff with the rest over there."
Emmanuel climbs down the side of the ship after finishing with his inspection of the ship's dual autocannons. He drops to the floor of the hangar with a grunt and starts making his way towards the ramp. He's a tall man with dark skin and tightly cropped black hair, wearing the bottom half of an ExoGeni engineer's uniform as well as an oil-stained tanktop.
Uvena sighs. "Yeah, I'll have bigger issues wanting to bother me soon," she says before turning towards the ship, and she starts walking a few seconds later.
Jessica waits until the elevator arrives and climbs onboard along with Korio. "Long time no see." she quips as Nathan joins them on the elevator.
Jason raises an eyebrow as he walks alongside Uvena. "Uhhh, what is that supposed to mean?" he asks as they approach Ilyna and the ship.
Nathan steps into the elevator and rolls his eyes, having not lowered the visor again. He chuckles. "One could argue too soon," he counters.
Korio glances at the armored man. "I assume you are proceeding to the third floor to drop off your belongings?" he asks, fingers hovering over the elevator buttons. "I assume they frown down upon us walking around with our gear, given their instructions to place our things in the armory."
Korio taps both the third floor and second floor buttons and steps back. "Will you be needing any assistance?" he asks. "I would be happy to accompany you. Would give me a chance to get a better grasp of the layout as well."
Jessica rolls her eyes at Nathan and opens her mouth to speak, but thinks better of reigniting that argument.
Uvena pats his back. "I wish I had your optimism here, Wolfe," she says. "I hope I'm wrong. I really do."
Jason lets out a sigh and nods as they follow behind Ilyna. "You and me, both." he mutters under his breath. "But we've got two weeks to worry about all that. No point in spending every second worrying about a geth attack that may not happen."
The elevator opens to the third deck. The armory is clearly marked straight ahead down the elevator, past another door marked 'security office'. The door to the armory is locked, with an ExoGeni guard standing by it.
Uvena is following beside Jason. "I wasn't planning on that," she says. "Although I haven't thought about what to spend two weeks' travel on."
Korio moves aside to give Nathan a wide berth. "Second deck." he reminds the man, "That is where we are to stay. I shall see you on your return." he says with another bow of his head.
Nathan strides out and towards the guard. "Hi there!" He calls cheerfully and completely blanking the drell. "Nathan Tennnhausen with Redrock Agency, here to stow my gear. Mind if I go in?"
Korio doesn't seem to be offended by the sleight. Surely they'll catch up later. He straightens up as the elevator closes to proceed up to the second deck.
Jason gives a shrug as he glances at the asari to his side. "Relax. Enjoy a little time to yourself. Did you bring something to read?" he asks as they near the elevator.
Guard nods, one hand letting go of his Avenger as he goes to unlock the door. It opens up into a medium-size room with several weapon racks as well as a workbench. The weapons are mostly common mass-produced items like Avengers and Predators. There are a few crates of thermal clips as well.
Nathan nods his thanks and heads insides. After unholstering his weaponry and stowing them away, he promptly leaves, offering another nod to the guard as he returns toward the elevator. He thumbs the interface and waits for it to make a return journey.
Once on the second deck the elevator opens up into a fairly open space. The main feature is the cafeteria, which takes up most of the port side of the deck. There are several tables lined up and a bar counter. The kitchen can be seen in the back, and there are sizable windows looking out into the hangar. To the starboard side are several doors, one of them clearly marked "Passenger Quarters".
Uvena nods. "Yeah, I think I might have something stashed away in some dusty corner on my omni-tool," she says with a chuckle.
Jessica steps out of the elevator and gives a brief glance around but doesn't care to linger for too long. She merely heads straight for the passenger quarters with Korio in tow.
Linora is waiting for the elevator to come back to the cargo hold along with the rest of the research team.
Jason gives a shrug as he takes a position by the elevator, joining Ilyna, Artullin and the research team. "That works. I made sure to load my omni-tool with a fuckton of stuff to keep me occupied. Hopefully it won't drag.
Jasper is still roaming around the cargo hold, looking at each of the vehicles with great interest and inspecting them closely.
Uvena nods. "Any vids?" she asks. "This place must have a big screen we can comandeer for an evening."
Ilyna remains quiet while she waits for the elevator, but she seems a bit uncomfortable now that she's inside the ship.
The passenger quarters consist of an oblong room with rows of bunkbeds on one side. The other side has lockers, a couple of small tables with chairs, and windows. The only one in the room is a scrawny human woman with tan skin and a black-and-blue sideshave. She's wearing black pants and a gray hoodie, and is lying in one of the top bunks, listening to loud retro-flip-dubstep on her omni-tool, which is a bright blue projection.
Jason steps past Ilyna onto the elevator with Artullin. "I've got a few. Maybe we can put together a movie night or something." he says with a chuckle. "Might be fun."
Artullin would close the elevator once others have entered and thumb the button for the third floor. He would stand in silence until it arrives on the third floor.
Most of the people milling about in the hangar are starting to enter the ship's cargo hold, a few stepping onto the elevators as well.
Jessica climbs into the top bunk beside the rude woman, because top bunks are best bunks. Once she has laid claim to her bed, she removes her cap and tosses it onto the pillow.
Uvena smiles, stepping into the elevator. "Exactly," she says. "I haven't had a chance to properly meet most of my coworkers, so I'm not sure how popular that'd be."
Korio paces around the room for a few moments, hands behind his back as he inspects it front-to-back. Once satisfied, he approaches a free bed close to the door they arrived in. "This will do." he muses to himself.
Ilyna is one of the last people to enter the elevator, after a fair share of hesitation, casting a last glance at the exit as she does so.
Artullin thumbs the third floor and rides up in silence. He doesn't ask the others were they would like to go. Once it arrives, he exits and swaps places with Nathan, who steps in with a nod. The turian nods to the guard. "I'm with Redrock, come to store my weapons," he says curtly.
Jason pokes the second deck button as the doors close, remaining close to the people he knows as the nerds begin to crowd the elevator. "Yeah. Could be a good way for everyone to get to know one another. We've got quite a few new faces on this job."
Uvena nods. "That we do," she says before moving more out of the way of the people entering after her.
Jason glances back at Ilyna with a similarly grim look, as if to say: 'Welp, no turning back now.' He gives a shrug and looks straight ahead. "We'll see about all of that once the trip has began. Just need to get settled in first and make sure all of our gear is properly loaded."
Victoria 's voice comes over the speakers all over the ship. The voice is feminine and calm, sounding slightly synthesized. "All cargo and passengers now onboard. Welcome to the ExoGeni Corporation research vessel the RSV Saint Lucia. I am Victoria, a Mark III ExoGeni shipboard virtual intelligence. Crew is asked to proceed to your stations and prepare for departure. Passengers are asked to proceed to the passenger quarters and
remain there until orbit. All weapons are to be stored in the armory, on Deck 3. If you have any questions, I will answer them directly if you include my name in your query."
Jason 's stomach drops as a familiar voice comes on. His gaze slowly scans back over to Ilyna and he lets a deep breath out through his nose.
Nathan looks at Jason as the elevator starts to make its way to the second floor. "Friend of yours?" He asks.
Artullin nods and stores his weapons in the armour. He then makes his way back to the elevator and waits.
Yan Sun presses a button on the holographic interface of her omni-tool once she notices that other people are starting to enter the room. The music turns off in the middle of the best part of the track. Bummer. She props herself up on her elbows, gaze falling first to Jessica, who is in the bunk next to her. She's unable to hide a small wince as she notices the burns, but a smile quickly comes across her blue lips. "Hey! You with
Nathan steps out of the elevator once it reaches the second floor after a painfully long journey. "Seriously, for all our modern technology, they can not make elevators go any faster...".
Linora steps off the elevator once it reaches the second floor. She takes a quick look around and gestures to the left. "Looks like the passenger quarters are over there." The matron says to the rest of her team, and most of them start making their way towards the room.
Jessica glances over as she's addressed. Without her cap on, the scarring is visible up to her head, causing a large patch where hair no longer grows. The rest of her hair is shaved down to stubble. "Huh...?" she responds as she dangles her legs over the side of the bunk, "Oh, yeah. You with the researchers?" she asks, seeming somewhat distracted as she rifles through her pockets.
Nalota looks over at the merc with a raised eyebrow, but snaps her attention back to the door when the elevator reaches the top. She follows the matron without a word.
Jason steps out behind Nathan, glancing at all of the researchers as they make it clear that they'll be sharing quarters. "Sounds like this might be a little crowded." he says to Ilyna.
Ilyna walks beside Jason. "Maybe they know more about the planet we're going to than we've been told," she says, keeping her voice low.
Yan Sun sits up, sliding her legs off the edge of the bed with a shrug. "Sort of. I'm handling the tech. Yan Sun." she says with a small wave.
Nathan would step into the passenger quarters, managing to slither past the researchers. He nods towards Jessica and takes the bunk beneath hers, much preferring to sleep closer to the floor. "Dibs," he announces and takes off his helmet, shaking out his hair. He starts to strip off his armour, revealing the black bodysuit he wears underneath it. His dufflebag is
Jason nods a couple times. "Might be worth asking a few questions once we're all settled in." he says, keeping his voice low as well, "But we are here to do a job, so first things first: Make sure our gear gets onboard safely."
Ilyna nods. "Understood," she says. "That might be too late to check when the ship's in orbit, though."
Jessica looks over at the woman with a nod. "Jessica." she says plainly. She gives a gesture towards Nathan as he chooses his bunk. "And this meathead is Nathan." she introduces him as well. Unsurprised by his decision, she cocks an eyebrow at the man. "Uh huh. See? Knew you wanted to be under me." she jokes.
Yeah... Which is why we should probably get settled in so we can send someone down to make sure it all arrives before takeoff.
Uvena enters and takes a bottom bunk near the middle of the row without much consideration, sitting down in it after taking off her jacket.
Nathan waves at Yan before tugging off a boot. "Hey there. Nathan Tennhausen, explosives expert. Call me Ten," he says with a chirp to his voice. "And don't listen to her, she's full of shit," he replies with a chuckle, glancing up at her as he says so.
Jason takes the bunk beside Nathan and Jessica, taking a seat on the bottom bed. He glances at Ilyna and then at the top bunk, figuring they should remain close in case they need to have some late-night spec-ops anti-ExoGeni conversations through tin cans and string.
Yan Sun looks down at Nathan and gives a nod. "Uh-huh, if you say so Ten." Her gaze trails Uvena and then Jason as they pass by to pick their bunks.
Jessica pulls her legs up onto her bunk and places her back against the wall as she settles in. "Are you just planning on stripping right here in front of everyone?" she asks with a look of distaste as she studies Nathan, "I don't think anyone here wants that."
Ilyna nods again before entering, "I guess that'll either be your or me." She takes Jason's cue and climbs onto the top bunk without a word.
Jason pulls back the sheets on his bed and rustles them up to signal that the bed is already taken so nobody will snatch it up when he's gone. "I can handle that." he says to Ilyna. "Shouldn't take too long. Just need to check the crates and make sure our stuff is all there."
Ilyna hangs her jacket on the bedpost, and lays down on her back. "I can come with you if you'd like," she says.
Jason gives a couple of nods as he continues purposely messing up his bedding. "Yeah, that's fine. Everything I've packed is in there, so if it doesn't get loaded you'll all be dealing with some serious stink over the next two weeks..."
Jasper gives a nod as he inspects one of the mechs. "Mmhmm. You can say that again. This expedition seems pretty well-equipped. Bet it's costin' someone a few credits."
Spencer chuckles. "Yeah, you got that right. It ain't me though. Been a while since this ship had so much gear. He points a thumb over his shoulder, at the elevator. "You should probably be getting up to the passenger quarters with the rest of your people, we'll be taking off soon."
Jasper follows the man's thumbs and sighs. "Alright..." he groans, "...Well, you take care now." He tucks his hands into his coveralls and mosies along towards the elevator, taking one last longing look towards the tank before boarding.
Ilyna sits back up. "That'll be the least of our worries," she says with a chuckle before hopping off the bed.
Jason stands back up as Ilyna exits her bed and turns to address the others. "We're gonna go make sure our shit gets loaded up." he says, "Just stay in here until they announce that we're free to roam around. We'll be back in a few." He gives another glance at Ilyna before setting off for the door.
Jessica focuses on her omni-tool. "Oh, that won't dissuade him. He seems to love himself enough for the rest of us." she says as her fingers swipe and poke at the interface.
Jasper arrives at the door just in time to block Jason's exit. He sidesteps the man, flicks his cap as he nods to Ilyna, and then proceeds towards the bed below Yan Sun. "This one taken?" he asks, placing a hand against the upper rail.
Nathan snorts as he removes the last of his armour. "Don't be such prudes, I'm wearing a bodysuit." He pulls out his civilian clothes and sets them on the bed before standing up and moving his armour to one of the free lockers across the room.
Jessica continues to swipe and poke through her omni-tool's contents as she pays half-attention to Nathan. "Prudish? No. Worried about losing my lunch? Possibly."
Nathan flips Jessica the bird over his shoulder as he stows the last of his armour. He grabs his clothes and heads towards either a changing room and, failing to locate one, the bathroom.
Jason stutter steps to avoid Jasper and pats him on the shoulder as he proceeds out of the quarters and looks for anyone that might be able to answer any questions.
Yan Sun smirks at the comment as she lowers her hand. She tries to get a look at what's on Jessica's omni-tool screen from her inverted view of it.
Artullin has made it to the passenger quarters after disappearing for some strange reason. He takes a bunk as faaaaaar away as possible from the others.
Nathan glances up and frowns. "...I'm just going to the bathroom," he says to the VI. "I'll be like, two minutes."
Jason frowns as well and snubs his nose as he glances upwards. "I need to make sure our personal items have been brought onboard." he says defiantly, not sure where he's going but purposely making a show of walking further from the passengers quarters just because the VI told him to go back.
Nathan says hesitantly as he walks into the bathroom. "If that thing is watching me..." he mumbles as he walks into a stall to change.
(Deck 2 Corridor) Your cargo is all accounted for, Mr. Wolfe. Would you like me to notify the Boatswain that you have questions?
Jason frowns and stops in his tracks. "You can notify the boatswain that I'd like our personal belongings delivered to the quarters so I know all of our shit is accounted for before we're half-way across the galaxy." he says rudely.
(Deck 2 Corridor) All your cargo is accounted for. If you need to bring something to your quarters you may do so when in orbit.
How do you know our cargo is accounted for? If you don't know what our cargo is than how can you confirm that it's accounted for? I mean, shit, they'd have to bring it on board before you could see what they-... brought.
Nathan exits the bathroom, bodysuit folded up in his hands. He is now dressed in a pair of faded blue jeans, trainers and a shirt with a band's name and logo. 'Blues Saraceno.' He glances at Jason as he argues with the VI, giving him an odd look before entering the passenger quarters again.
Jessica slowly turns her head to glare at Yan Sun. "Well, aren't you the nosey one." she says, "I take it you're into hardcore elcor pornography, too?" she says, hoping to inspire the woman to mind her own business, though she's unable to suppress a smirk.
Yan Sun raises an eyebrow, grinning slightly. "Oooh, you holding out?" she says with exaggerated enthusiasm.
Nathan pauses and looks between the two women. "...right." He shakes his head and stores his bodysuit away too before heading over to his bed and flopping onto it.
Jessica stares blankly at Yan Sun for a few long moments. Eventually she just shakes her head and turns her omni-tool slightly. It displays local Aitian news. "Just some light reading." she says.
Nathan looks out the window as he believes he's wasting his life staring at a holographic interface.
Jason sighs and glances over at Ilyna. "I guess that's going to have to do for now if we're taking off... Once we're given free reign to wander the ship, we'll go and pick our stuff up, I suppose." He gives Ilyna an apologetic shrug before looking up arbitrarily, "This doesn't mean you've won, Victoria!" he assures, "I'm going back to the quarters because I want to. Not because you're
Yan Sun shrugs, feigning disappointent. Just as she's about to lie down again she shoots another glance at the display, tilting her head a bit. "So, you guys all from Aite, or what?"
Jason points upwards as he continues back towards the quarters. "You damn well better! I've already seen your true colors." he threatens, stomping in behind Ilyna.
Yan Sun looks down at Nathan. "Germany?" She suddenly looses all interest and turns her attention back to Jessica. "You like living on a small colony like that?"
Jessica gives a slight shrug. "It's fine." she says, gaining an uncomfortable look. She pulls her omni-tool in and gains a sudden interest in the screen. "What about you? Where are you from?" she asks, pushing the focus from herself without tearing her gaze away from the screen.
Jessica cocks an eyebrow at the woman. "Kipef?" she asks, anunciating the letters, "The hell is Kipef?"
Jessica looks just as puzzled. "....Oh. Yeah. Chinese People's Federation." she nods, "Of course. I knew that. Good ol' Kipef."
