#ResearchCamp – April 13, 2016

Nathan is taking a well-deserved break. Dressed in his bodysuit with his boots on only, he is sat at the table, cradling a cup of coffee... after having a minor panic attack at the churning of the machine.

Jason is still on patrol, having been next up in the rotation anyway. He has taken a break already, but he's currently still walking a trail through the snow, becoming more and more exhausted by the minute.

Uvena went to sleep shortly after returning, only having a small bite to eat and a shower before going to bed. She didn't sleep very long, however, and now two hours later she emerges from the bunk room into the kitchen.

Artullin has now changed into suitable sleeping garments. He is laid in his bunk, hands folded onto his chest. He is snoozing gently.

Uvena is in a long black nightdress held up by thick strips over her shoulders. It hugs her figure loosely.

Jasper put a sign up in the breakroom, 'CLOSE DOOR BEFORE BREWING COFFEE' before heading to sleep himself. He's just in a pair of tighty whities.

Jessica having already had a fair bit of sleep, is currently sitting in the kitchenette with her feet up on the table, kicking back as she looks over her omni-tool

Korio is outside on patrol as well, casually strolling about the perimeter.

Nathan looks up from his coffee as Uvena enters. "Hey At- woah," he says, trailing off into a mumble. He quickly refocuses his attention, glancing across at Jessica. "Sooooooo, sleep well?"

Ilyna is also out on patrol. She's standing on the perimeter quite far from the other two, looking out into the distance.

Jessica grunts. "I was. Until that bitch woke me up..."

Uvena closes the door after a glance at the sign. "Hey," she says, almost as a whisper before walking over to the kitchen counter to find the coffee mug.

Nathan looks and smile at Uvena, offering her a nod before looking back to Jessica. "Lemme guess? Miss patronising-fuck the rest of you- Harmoina?"

Jessica snorts and nods, peering over the top of her interface at Nathan. "I'm going to make it my personal goal to make sure she's fucking miserable for the rest of our trip." she assures.

Nathan grins wickedly and leans in, a conspiring look to his face. "Whatever you're planning, I'm in...".

Jason continues on his patrol, starting back in Ilyna's general direction.

Uvena pours herself a cup of coffee. "I have never heard about her in a positive context," she says before taking a seat at the table, putting the cup in front of her.

Jessica grins in return. "I'm still working on it. But when I have something, you'll be the first to know." She pulls her shoes off of the table and glances between Nathan and Uvena. "She seems like a real piece of work." she agrees, "So how did your little trip go, anyway?"

Ilyna turns towards the sound of approaching footsteps, offering a small smile upon seeing who it is. "How is the patrol going?" she asks.

Nathan nods, then looks to Uvena before looking back to Jess. "Uneventful, bar the big rotting carcass of some really angry looking... fish... thing," he says. He looks to Uvena to allow her to go into more detail.

Pablo lets out a "Whoop!" which is followed by a thunderous sound from drill hole coupled with an increase in the water vapor rising. It doesn't take long for a cloud of mist to start forming in the center of the camp.

Uvena nods. "That's what we found," she says, "but there's no sign of what could have killed it. And I hope that remains a mystery." She takes a tiny sip of her coffee to test the temperature.

Jason gives a loud sigh and shrugs. "Probably about the same as yours." he says with a chuckle, "Cold. Uncomfortable. And I haven't slept since we arrived, so I feel like the walking dead." Upon hearing the distant 'whoop' from camp, he glances back over his shoulder. "Looks like they made progress with the drill..." He returns his attention to the asari, "They found some life out there

Jessica frowns. "I knew there were fishies under that ice!" she exclaims with a groan. "Just happy it's not me who has to go down there."

Nathan groans and sips at his coffee. "Don't remind me... I'm a whole lot less enthusiastic about the diving now...".

Rala exits the labs in the middle of the conversation and her face immediately lights up. "Oh, you were part of the team that found the creature?" she says to Nathan. She's a dark blue asari matron geared up in a lab coat. She's not really been seen as much as the rest of the research team, most of her time having been spent in the lab.

Ilyna sighs. "I've been waiting all this time for some complication," she says. "I've kept my eyes peeled for hours, Jason." She gestures towards the camp. "You should get some rest, though. If we have a real threat, everyone out here must be ready to fight it."

Uvena gives Nathan's shoulder a gentle squeeze before turning her attention to the new arrival.

Nalota is still sleeping, and she's sleeping like a stone.

Jason gives an appreciative smile from behind his visor, but shakes his head. "Tired or not, I'll be fine. Just need to last a few more hours. What about you? How're you holding up?"

Nathan glances to Uvena, a light smile plastered on his features before looking to Rala. He nods to her, offering her a polite smile. "Sure was. Uvena here gets just as much credit for the discovery of Blubberguts." He grins slightly.

Jessica snorts a chuckle before glancing towards the asari. As she realizes it doesn't concern her, she slinks down into her seat a bit and lifts her feet back onto the table, her shoes thumping loudly against the top as she returns her attention to her omni-tool.

Rala shoots a glance at Jessica's feet, but seems more interested in discussing the discovery than arguing about it at the moment, and so turns her attention back to Nathan and Uvena. "It's absolutely fascinating! We had hoped we would find some form of aquatic life, but nothing of this magnitude! I hope the diving team will be able to document a live one, but I suppose I shouldn't get my hopes up. Regardless, the

Ilyna nods. "I'm as well as I can be, I suppose," she says. "Long, uncomfortable guard postings is something I'm used to from the military. Waiting for something terrifying, though... only our time together has prepared me for that."

Harmonia 's voice comes in over the public comms. "Good news, everyone! We've broken through the ice! Triton crew has three hours until it's time to go for a swim."

Jason lowers his gaze to the ice and nods slowly, feeling somewhat ashamed at the truth in her words. "Well, let's hope that preparation was for nothing this time..." The sudden chirp of Harmonia's annoying voice causes him to glance back towards the camp as another sigh escapes him. "Sounds like sleep just isn't in the cards for me today..."

Jessica glances over at Nathan as Harmonia's bloodrage-inducing voice is heard. "Speak of the super-bitch..." she groans, "...Sounds like you've got more work to do, Ten."

Nathan groans and dramatically brings his forehead to make contact with the table with an almighty thump. "Greeeeat. And she's one of the diving team... Ugggggggggggggggggggh."

Uvena raises an eyebrow at the matron's excitement about this, but she doesn't comment. Instead, she looks at Ten. "Have you slept at all since we got here?"

Uvena shakes her head. "What you need is sleep," she says. "How long do you need to get into the mech anyway?"

Rala raises an eyebrow at Nathan. "The members of the diving team should all be asleep... I sent Nalota off myself. Why aren't you resting as well?"

Nathan looks to Uvena and offers her a meek smile before looking to Rala. "Because I-" he pauses, his hand spinning in circles as he tries to think of a reason. Eventually, he sighs and shrugs. "-I am an idiot who downed a hell of a lot of coffee instead of sleeping...".

Jessica snorts loudly, her attention remaining on her omni-tool. "He is an idiot." she agrees, cocking an eyebrow at Nathan as she peers over her interface briefly, "See? I have your back." she adds with a nod.

Nathan snorts and offers Jessica a thumbs up with a smile.

Rala furrows her eyebrows. "That could be... problematic. Piloting a heavy mech while sleep deprived seems unsafe."

Ilyna tilts her head. "I can act on your behalf, Jason," she says. "Or do they specifically need you to be here for that?"

Jason gives a shake of his head. "I probably don't need to be there. But-..." he shrugs, "I just don't like the idea of our people going down there in general... Not after knowing what might be down there. I need to be there in case something goes wrong."

Yan Sun can be seen discussing something with Linora near the probe monitoring station.

Uvena sighs. "You're hopeless, Ten," she says with a chuckle. "No harm in giving it a shot, though. Sneaking in a nap before you have to go, I mean."

Nathan grins at Uvena. "And that's why you like me. For my hopeless charm," he quips. He nods though and looks between the three. "I'll take a quick nap. I have a few stimulants for situations where I need to be awake and active, so I'll take one of those before the mission."

Rala looks highly skeptical. "I'm not sure that's such a good idea. You might want to talk to Harmonia. Maybe get the dive postponed."

Nathan looks at Rala like she is insane. "I'd rather fight one of Blubberguts friends naked and with my bare fists than risk Harmonia!"

Ilyna nods. "You do what you want," she says. "but I and Ara can handle this patroll for a while if you need another break. You don't need to worry about us."

Yan Sun starts walking towards Jason after finishing her conversation with Linora.

Jason reaches out and pats Ilyna on the shoulder. "I appreciate it. Maybe I will take a quick nap. 45 minutes or so. Just to get a little rest. So long as you don't mind." he says before the approaching woman catches his attention. He turns slightly to face her and waits to see what she needs.

Rala seems a bit put off, a worried look crossing her face. "This is a serious matter. You could endanger someone by piloting one of those things without rest!"

Jessica lets out a deep sigh. "Oh for the love of-... does your entire team constantly whine and nag like a group of babies? He says he's fine, so he's fine. Let it go!" she says, eyes still fixated on her holographic interface.

Nathan waves his hands, trying to offer the woman a reassuring smile. "Kidding! Kidding!" He says hurriedly. "I'll go and get some rest, don't worry. The amount of coffee I drink has probably made me nigh enough immune to caffeine-" He then looks to Jessica, offering her a small nod. He then looks back to Rala. "Look, I'll get some rest, 'kay?"

Uvena grins and shakes her head. "Sleep well, Ten," she says before picking up her coffee cup.

Ilyna smiles, which can be seen through her helmet. "I don't mind," she says. "I mean it." She turns to face the woman approaching them.

Rala looks quite clearly offended by Jessica's words, her excitement at the previous discovery all but gone as her focus moves to the woman. "Excuse me? I'm just expressing concern over the safety of my co-workers." To Nathan she offers a small nod at his words, no sign of malice in her face but still clearly upset over Jessica's insult.

Nathan looks to Uvena. "What about you? You going to get some more rest?" He asks, keeping his eyeline focused on hers.

Yan Sun gives Jason and Ilyna a wave as she gets closer. "Uh, hey." she says when within speaking range, coming to a stop. "I need to borrow some of your people again."

Jessica rolls her eyes. "Yes, yes." she says dismissively with a wave of her hand. "Concerned over sleep deprivation. Concerned over co-workers. Concerned over sensors. Concerned over snoring. I'm quite aware of how concerned you people are. Calm your shit. It will be fine."

Jason shifts from one foot to the other. "Okay...? Regarding....?"

Uvena looks up at him. "Maybe," she sighs. "I woke up not too long ago and couldn't return to sleep. That's why I came here."

Rala leaves the room without talking further to Jessica, the frown on her face a sharp contrast to the enthusiasm she'd had when she entered.

Jessica's smirk returns, seemingly pleased at having dashed Rala's spirits.

Nathan waggles his eyebrows at her. "C'monnnn. I need the company," he jests, offering her a wink and a soft laugh.

Uvena puts the coffee cup back on the table. "Well, if you think it'll help you sleep," she says in a light hearted tone, narrowing her eyes.

Ilyna looks at Yan Sun, waiting for her to elaborate.

Jessica looks up from her omni-tool, studying the pair. "Careful. If you decide to fuck in the bunks, it may concern them."

Nathan grins at Uvena... before looking to Jessica, his face burning bright red. "W-wha...! I wasn- it was-!"

Uvena gives a dimsissive wave, and chuckles. There is a slight hint of a change in hue on her cheeks, but the fact that she's dark purple makes it hard to spot. "Who said anything about fucking?" she asks, her tone still light. "Other than you, I mean."

Yan Sun sighs, pointing a thumb over her shoulder back at the monitor. "It's a probe again. It-..." She's interrupted as her omni-tool bleeps, and she brings it up to read something. "...nevermind. Must have been weather interference." Her gaze still on the omni-tool she starts to wander away, seemingly forgetting she was in a conversation. "Hmh... should pull it back to make sure connection isn't broken again, and probably halt

Jessica snorts and shakes her head. "Uh huh. I know what that means." he points towards Nathan's eyebrows and wiggles her own, "He's trying to get into your pants." She gives Nathan a thumbs up, "A for effort." She casually glances back down at her omni-tool and reorients it, snapping a random picture of him.

Nathan hides his face behind his cup, still blushing slightly. Her snapping of a picture causes it to burn brighter and he sinks into his chair. He looks at Uvena, opening his mouth to reply... but not completely knowing how to respond to the situation, he shuts it and sinks further into his chair.

Jason remains in place as he watches her walk away. Finally he turns back to Ilyna with a sigh. "Yeah... I'm gonna take you up on that nap. If I'm not back out here in an hour, get someone to wake me up, alright?" He begins to back away from Ilyna, back towards the camp. "I mean it! Don't let me oversleep!"

Ilyna nods. "Of course," she says, and she may or may not mean it. She starts jogging to catch up with Yan Sun. "What's going on with the probe? Does it tell you anything?"

Jason follows Ilyna back towards the camp, although just at a walk. "Korio." he reports over comms, "It's just going to be you and Ilyna out here for a little while. Stay alert."

Yan Sun shakes her head. "Nah, just lost contact with one of them for a bit, but it's back now. They're reaching their maximum range so it's no surprise really. Was probably weather interference. I'll pull this one back a bit, stop the others. We've mapped about as much as we can."

Korio continues to stare out at the icy landscape. "Understood, Wolfe." he says plainly.

Uvena pats him on the shoulder. "You really enjoy making people feel bad, do you?" she asks, looking towards Jessica. There's still a smile on the asari's face, however.

Ilyna nods. "Has the probes picked up any other signs of life?" she asks. "If there is something with us up on the surface, we'll need all the information we can get about it."

Jessica feigns a look of offense. "I don't know what you're talking about. I just speak my mind. If it makes people uncomfortable..." she shrugs her shoulders, "...Too bad. And right now?" Her grin returns as she glances between Nathan and Uvena again, "My mind is telling me that he's hoping for some action."

Nathan has almost disappeared beneath the table. "...Shuddup, Jess," he mumbles, though his tone is light.

Yan Sun shakes her head again as she continues to walk back towards the monitoring station. "No, no sign of... anything, really. Just ice. Guess something must have pulled that whale-thing out of the water though, right?"

Ilyna frowns. "Yeah, and we're keeping our eyes open in case it comes to our camp," she says. "If you need to leave camp, I suggest giving twenty minutes' advance notice so we have at least two people on patrol at all times."

Uvena shakes her head. "I'm too old for that kind of 'action', I assure you," she says with a smile, "but my earlier offer was sincere."

Nathan shakes his head, lookiong to Uvena. "Nah, I was only messing. As you said, can't go to sleep that quickly after, eh?" He says, glad to start moving off topic."

Yan Sun lets out a brief chuckle. "Uh, well... don't think I can inform you before something breaks, but if I do need to go out for more repairs there shouldn't be a rush, so you guys should have time to make whatever adjustments you need." She stops and turns to look at Ilyna, furrowing her eyebrows. "Not sure I got your name...? I'm Yan Sun, don't know if you caught my introduction before we left."

Jessica drops it, but does look to Nathan and give an exaggerated wink, followed by more wiggly eyebrows.

Ilyna looks unsure. "I think I did, but there's been a lot on my mind since then," she says. "I'm Ilyna T'Rea. It's nice to meet you, Yan Sun."

Yan Sun waves again while backpedaling to the monitor. "Same, Ilyna!" she says with a smile before getting back to work.

Uvena chuckles, gaining a dissapointed expression for a fraction of a second. "Well then," she says. "So, you going now or need I carry you there and tuck you in before you forget?"

Jason nudges Ilyna playfully as he catches up, now that they've stopped moving, and then passes by her and Yan Sun, heading back towards the airlock. "One hour!" he reminds without looking back.

Ilyna nods. "Four hours, got it!" she jokes before heading back to her post.

Jessica cups a hand around her mouth as she stage whispers to Nathan. "Oh, she totally wants the 'D'." She chuckles loudly, her shoulders bouncing through the fit of laughter before shaking her head and returning to her omni-tool.

Nathan looks to Jessica with a mix of exasperation and a light hearted look before answering Uvena. "Wellllll... go on then~" He says with a gentle chuckle as he stands, offering her a light wink and a hand to help her up.

Jason glances back over his shoulder, tossing a middle finger up as he approaches the airlock. "One hour!!!" he corrects loudly, though it's obvious he's just joking along with her.

Korio remains in place at the outer reaches of his perimerer, like a statue.

Uvena takes his hand and stands up, leaving the half full cup of coffee behind on the table. She smiles, but she doesn't say anything.

Ilyna chuckels. "Five hours!" she calls back with a glance over her shoulder, but there's a chance he might not even hear her because this asair doesn't shout all that often.

Nathan starts to walk back towards the bunks, glancing over his shoulder to offer Jessica a small wave. He has not released her hand at this point. Upon noticing he is still holding it, he quickly releases it, clearing his throat.

Jessica waves back at Nathan with just her fingertips, grin chiseled into her face. "Don't do anything I wouldn't do." she calls out after them.

Jessica frowns as her omni-tool beeps. She takes a moment to look it over before sighing and standing from her seat, typing on the interface as she does. Once finished, the interface dissipates and she heads off to get suited up.

Bort emerges from the mist near the drill and joins Jason in the airlock, looking eager to get into the building and out of the cold. A thin layer of frost covers their breathing mask.

Rala enters the bathroom after heading to the bunks, basic hygene items with her.

Uvena sighs. "If you don't want to, there'll be no hurt feelings if you say so," she whispers. "We're only going to be sleeping, though."

Jason glances over at Bort as he steps into the airlock and offers the vorcha a nod, but otherwise remains silent.

Bort shivers slightly and grunts in return. "Cold outside! Bort wishes suit would fit!"

Nathan leans across to Uvena, lowering his voice. "It's fine," he says. "And I know there will be only sleeping. But I won't lie when I say I am enjoying spending some time with you. You are one of the few people here I actually like," he teases, making to gently nudge her as he pauses outside the bunk room.

Jason blinks a couple of times and glances back at Bort, nodding. "Very cold outside! Jason can't wait to lay down! Tired!" he says, cringing slightly as he ponders whether the gesture of miming the speech pattern will be well received.

Bort nods in agreement. "Yes! Sleep beckons!" they growl, and when the airlock opens they step inside, removing the breather mask and going straight for a bunk, falling straight into the nearest one.

Jessica manages to catch up with Nathan and Uvena on her way to the airlock. "You can do it!" she cheers, giving Nathan a playful shove before heading on her way towards the airlock and greeting Jason with a nod. "Got a message I was needed outside. I'll be back in soon. If something comes up, I'll send a message your way."

Linora heads over to Mana again, continuing their earlier discussion.

Jason smirks at the vorcha and begins to unfasten his helmet. As Jessica approaches, he returns the nod. "Jason taking nap!-..." he begins but quickly stops himself and gives a shake of his head. "Errr... I'm gonna take a quick nap. Ilyna and Korio are both still outside, so it would be great if you could just fill in out there for the next hour or so if you get time." He begins removing

Yan Sun is typing commands into the probe control device.

Uvena takes his hand again, letting him lead the way. "I enjoy it, as well," she admits, pausing when Jessica pass them. "I can't say I really made the effort to get to know you all very well. I was either glued to that window on the cafeteria, or talking with whoever interrupted me."

Nathan rolls his eyes at Jessica, but chuckles. He then looks as the Vorcha tears through to the bunks, lowering his voice as he has actually entered the bunkrooms, not lingering outside it. He guides her towards the bunks, then releases her hand as he flops onto his, grinning up at her. "Well, suppose I better start with the interruptions," he teases.

Jessica silently nods to Jason's requests as she grabs her undersuit. Not wanting to just strip in front of him, she frowns and returns to the kitchenette to change, closing the door behind her.

Rala emerges from the bathroom after a short while, and glances at Nathan and Uvena, and then the vorcha, before climbing into her bunk.

Uvena smiles back. "You would be most welcome to," she says before checking her nightdress' straps. She walks over to the side of the bed and climbs in, crawling over him until she's looking him in the eyes. She lets him take charge in gettimg them both situated comfortably in the bunk, which is most probably not meant for two.

Jason enters the bunks once he has haphazardly removed his chestplate and upper-body plating. He doesn't even bother with his lower-body plating. He just shambles into the bunkroom and falls heavily, and loudly into his bed. Boots and all. He glances over at Nathan's bunk and blinks a couple times. "Least they aren't breaking any elevators..." he mutters as his eyes drift closed.

Jessica returns from the kitchen wearing just her form fitting undersuit, her clothing left behind on the kitchen table. She begins attaching her armor plating. It's a slow process for her, but she eventually finishes and grabs her shotgun before heading outside, helmet in place.

Nathan 's cheeks tinge a bright red, Jason's arrival causing him to smile awkwardly at him before looking back at Atana, eyes locking with hers. He shuffles across slightly to offer her some more room, guiding her to slip in next to him. His current armour state mirrors Jason's. "Cozy~" He hums as he moves under the covers, winking once to her.

Rala is busy getting out of her lab coat and then crawling under the covers before she notices Uvena and Nathan, raising an eyebrow before shrugging and lying down - perhaps not the time to engage them in conversation. (Tyranniac)

Uvena moves into the offered space and wraps an arm over him. "Mhm," she says, winking back at him. She lays her head on the pillow, still looking towards him. She does shift closer to him. "Much better," she whispers.

Jessica glances around once she's outside, looking for any sign of Yan Sun.

Ilyna is standing at the perimeter on the opposide side of the camp to where the drell is.

Nathan slips an arm around her and smirks, laying his head besides her. "Much better," he echoes... before his eyes quickly drift close, a smirk still lingering on his face.

Yan Sun has left the probe monitor and is standing by the ice cliff. "Over here!" she shouts with a wave and a smile. (Tyranniac)

Jessica glances about until she spots the source of the shouting and then starts towards her at a slight jog. "Mm? Is everything alright, kitty cat?" she asks as she slows to a stop beside Yan Sun.

Uvena purses her lips after his eyes are closed, but she thinks better of it and instead smiles. "Good night," she whispers before closing her own eyes.

Bort is in the bunk next to Uvena and Nathan, gnawing at the pillow. It's the fourth they've gone through so far on the expedition.

Yan Sun nods. "Sure, everything's fine." she says, and then looks up the cliff before looking back to Jessica. After a quick glance around to confirm there's no one in their immediate vicinity she asks: "You've never been off-world before, right? Have you noticed that the gravity is different here? Have you felt lighter?" she continues, without explaining herself at all, still smiling.

Bort rolls over, limbs sprawling across the bunk and slapping Nathan accidentally with the back of their hand before curling into a fetal position again, still drooling and gnawing.

Jessica instinctively looks around, worried Yan Sun's words may have been overheard. "This is my first time off Aite since I first arrived there..." she admits quietly, afraid to speak too loudly despite the low chance that anyone would hear her. She glances up at the cliff as well before giving Yan Sun a couple of nods. "Yeah, it's-..." she frowns from behind her visor, giving a couple of vertical hops for punctuation,

Nathan starts, jolting in place as the vorcha slaps him. He cringes, glancing down and hoping he hasn't just woken Uvena up. He looks back to the vorcha and sighs softly, shrugging the slap away. It was an accident after all.

Uvena hasn't fallen asleep yet, so the commotion does make her open her eyes, giving a tired questioning hum. She lifts her head to look over Nathan to see what happened.

Yan Sun 's smile turns into a grin. "I think it's great... had my first low-gravity experience on the Citadel. Have you tried jumping? I mean, really jumping... as high as you can?"

Nathan offers her a sheepish smile, flicking his head to the vorcha. "He, uh, just slapped me," he says quietly.

Artullin hasn't stirred at all during this time. Years of discipline and scrounging sleep where he can has led to him having a very sturdy ability to sleep.

Jessica cocks an eyebrow at Yan Sun. After a moment, the grin returns to her face. "Not yet!" she says, reaching back to holster her shotgun. She begins to crouch down, as if preparing to jump, before second guessing it. "...How high do you think I'll go...?"

Uvena raises an eyebrow before laying her head back on the pillow. "He did?" she asks in a whisper, waiting for him to elaborate.

Yan Sun looks up at the cloudy gray sky and then back at Jessica. "Who knows... maybe you'll go into space?" she says with an exaggerated shrug, still grinning.

Nathan nods, laying back down and turning to look at her, their noses almost touching due to the rather cramped bed. He shrugs. "Yeah. Accident. Just turned over and, whack, straight into my face," he says with a soft chuckle.

Jessica briefly seems actually worried by the idea before realizing Yan Sun is just messing with her. She frowns through her visor. "Not funny." she mutters. Her smile slowly returns before she lets out a grunt and propels herself upward.

Yan Sun lets out a cheer as she watches Jessica just over two meters into the air before starting to fall again, the fall noticeably slower than it would have been on Aite.

Uvena traces his back with her hand, checking for any cuts or scrapes that might have come of this. "Happens to the best of us," she says with a small smile. She shifts her head slightly forward, so that their noses do indeed touch.

Jessica extends her arms out to her sides and flails about as she starts to descend, uneasy over the new experience. "Gyaaa." she calls out, eyes wide. Despite the slow descent, she continues to panic and tumbles backwards onto her bottom once she reaches the ground. Without a moment's hesitation, she hops back on to her feet and sucks in a breath through her nose, causing an audible sniffle as she folds her arms across

Nathan 's body would be relatively unmarred. Especially since he is still wearing the bodysuit for his armour. He smiles as their noses touch. He falls silent for a minute as his cheeks flush as he brings a hand up to cup her cheek, eyes locking onto hers.

Yan Sun chuckles at Jessica's panic, and only seems more amused by her attempt to hide it as she stands up. "That was magnificent." she says before removing a pair of ice picks from her belt and tossing them over to her, before taking out another set for herself.

Jessica hops back, allowing the icepicks to fall into the snow. "Wha-...?" she asks, looking confused as she lifts the picks from the ground. "What are these for?" she asks as she looks them over.

Uvena grins. "So much for... just sleeping, hm?" she says in a low voice, pursing her lips for a kiss. She doesn't move her head, though. She stops moving her hand once she's satisfied that there's no cuts or scratches.

Yan Sun nods over her shoulder at the ice cliff, which is a few meters high. She takes a few steps back to gather momentum and then jumps at it, getting about halfway up without issue and digging the picks in. Surprisingly she manages it without fumbling. She takes a deep breath and then pulls in her knees, getting into position before pushing off and jumping up again, managing to scramble her way all the way up the steep

Nathan grins. "Guess so," he mutters back as he leans in, pressing his lips against hers gently as his eyes close. It takes every ounce of willingness he has not to just fall asleep as his eyes close. His thumb idly strokes her cheek.

Jessica watches in surprise as the clumsiest person she's ever met manages to scale a cliff face. Not one to be left behind, she takes a few steps back, icepick in each hand, and gets a running start before leaping up at the mountain. "Oh no ya don't, kitty cat!" she shouts as she goes sailing through the air. She drives the picks deep into the ice with a grunt. "Not-... Not going to show me up..." she continues,

Uvena holds the kiss for a few seconds, closing her eyes as well. She gives a satisfied sigh after she pulls away. "Don't... let me keep you up," she whispers. "You have... important things to do when you wake up."

Nathan breaks the kiss and playfully pouts. "Aww," he whines, though he is grinning slightly. "I have stimulants. A couple of hours sleep and one of those badboys and, whoosh, I've got my energy that a salarian on espresso," he muses. However, he does note her tired state and nods, pecking her once on the nose. "But you could do with some sleep too," he replies in

Yan Sun is sitting in the snow on top of the cliff, looking at Jessica with a smug smile on her face, neglecting to mention the time she spent practicing the manuever. To the south stretch more cliffs and snowy hills, and beyond them the mountains rise up. She scoots closer to the edge and allows her legs to dangle over, looking out at the camp.

Jessica continues to struggle for a moment, stabbing a pick into the ground and using it as a handle to pull herself up the rest of the way. She sprawls out onto her back with a few deep breaths once she's up. "Didn't think you had that in you..." she says as she continues to catch her breath beside Yan Sun, staring up at the sky through her visor.

Uvena gives a sheepish smile. "Mhm," she hums before her voice drops to a whisper again. "There will be a time for everything,... when this is over."

Yan Sun looks down at Jessica. "I have no idea what you're talking about." she says with an out-of-breath laugh before reaching out with her hand as if offering to pull her up into a sitting position.

Ilyna has started walking so that she doesn't freeze in place, her path being a circle around the camp. She waves at the people up on the cliff as she passes it, but she doesn't speak to them.

Nathan grins and nods, removing his hand from her face to rest on her waist instead. His eyelids droop as he stifles a yawn. "Can't wait," he hums quietly. It's only mere moments before he drifts off again, his chest rising and falling in a constant rhythm.

Jessica clasps a gauntleted hand over Yan Sun's and pulls herself up into a sitting position. "Uh huh..." she says dismissively, "...Well aren't you full of surprises..."

Uvena chuckles faintly before closing her own eyes without a word. It doesn't take long for her to fall asleep as well.

Yan Sun looks out over the camp again without responding. The mist is still rising from the hole in the ice, the drill running at low power to keep it from freezing over. "I, uh... just wanted to get away from the others for a moment. Haven't really had a chance to talk after... 'I sabotaged company property', is what the security chief called it I think..."

Jessica snickers softly as she watches over the camp as well. "Mmhmm... Wonder what we could 'sabotage' here. Hmmm?" she asks, glancing over at Yan Sun briefly.
