Jessica is seated upon a crate down in the hold. Her omni-tool is sat on her lap as she pokes at the holographic interface

Spencer exits one of the snowcrawlers, and stops on his way towards a nearby box as he passes by Jessica on a crate. "Ya talkin' to someone back home? Heard Vicky say we've gotten our connection back." he asks while cleaning an odd-looking part that was presumably from the vehicle.

Jessica makes a few quick swipes as she notices Spencer's approach, causing the interface to dissipate. "Mmm? Tal-... Oh, no." she responds. "Was jus-...." she trails off and merely shakes her head before repeating herself, "No." She gives a nod towards the part in his hand, trying to change the subject, "And you? Uhhh-.... Fixing.... stuff?"

Spencer nods, glancing back at the snowcrawler. "Yerp... somethin' must've broken down on the planet. Lockin' mechanism's jammed." he says, holding up the part briefly with a shrug.

Jessica nods a bunch of times, faking enthusiasm. "Oh that's-... uhh...... Right. Can you fix it?" she asks, shoving her omni-tool back into her pocket.

Spencer nods again as he turns the part over in his hand. "I reckon I can, just need ta find ma omni-gel is all."

Jessica continues to nod, unsure as to why Spencer is even speaking to her. "Well, should probably-..." she points past him towards the snowcrawler, "...get looking. I don't believe that thing is going to fix itself." she continues with a slight chuckle.

Yan Sun emerges from the elevator, seeming to have been searching for Jessica since she lights up when she spots her, making her way over across the cargo hold floor with a wave.

Spencer gives a short chuckle of his own in return. "That I should." he says with a nod, and heads over to his toolbox, grabbing it.

Jessica lets out a sigh of relief as he decides to leave her alone. As she spots Yan Sun, she returns the wave. "I would have thought you would be taking advantage of the extranet access for the next hour." she muses with a smirk, "But you've decided to bother me instead, mmm? What's up?"

Yan Sun 's lit up eye would become clear as she walks up to Jessica, giving a small shrug. "Who said I'm not?" she says with a small grin and then hops onto the crate next to her, giving a glance at Spencer as he walks past back to the snowcrawler before returning her attention to the woman next to her. "What are you doing down here?" she asks, her attention seemingly split between the browsing on her ocular implant and Jessica.

Jessica gives a shrug of her shoulders. "Uhhh-... I was just-..." she glances around, trailing off slightly, "...Sitting. You know... Peace and quiet and all that shit." she says with a few too many nods.

Yan Sun raises an eyebrow with a skeptical, but slightly amused look on her face. "You were... just sitting. Right. And while sitting you were...?"

Jessica gives another sheepish shrug of her shoulders and her hand slides into her pocket, patting at her omni-tool. "Doing stuff." she says quietly. "Nothing important. What about you, mmm? What are you doing? Besides being a pain in my ass?" she asks, once again trying to redirect the conversation as a smirk crosses her lips.

Yan Sun makes a show of narrowing her eyes at Jessica, and then lets out a quiet laugh before responding. "Just catching up on what's been going on while we were out of extranet range. It's a big galaxy, lots of stuff happens in ten days..." she says, her eye going back to darting around at unseen displays.

Mmm? What sort of stuff? Anything interesting?

Yan Sun nods faintly. "Sure... there's always something interesting going on somewhere. I like... to stay in touch with the rest of the galaxy. Be up to date. I followed the reports about the virtual aliens all summer. I was amazed. I mean, the fact that a civilization, a whole different world, went-..." She trails off, gaining an awkward look. "Uhm... you probably don't care about that."

Jessica absolutely does not care about it in any way, shape or form. She stares at Yan Sun silently for a few moments, slowly shaking her head. "Wolfe is right. You are a nerd." she says, her smirk widening. She lets out a sigh and leans back, propping herself up with her hands, "Tell me alllll about it, kitty cat."

Yan Sun looks a little embarassed as she looks out across the cargo hold before turning back to Jessica, pulling one of her legs up onto the crate and rotating herself to face her. She hesitates for a moment before a smile spreads across her face. "So, a couple of months ago, the salarians found this ship, right? It was just drifting through space. Empty. But... there was an AI on it. So, they obviously got kind of worried... when they

tried to communicate with it it sent them logic puzzles, math problems, things like that..." Her enthusiasm for the story is quite obvious by the way she gestures with her hands as she speaks.

Jessica frowns. "I was never very good at math." she says, that seemingly being the part of that stuck out to her the most, "...So, AI? Like the one we encountered, yes?"

Yan Sun pauses as she considers the question for a moment. "Sort of. But much, much older. Thousands of years old. And... not so damaged." She looks a little saddened almost, a small frown forming.

Jessica tilts her head to the side. "How damaged was the AI we encountered?" she asks, "...And... And why did it listen to you? You said you just talked to it..." she trails off tentatively.

Yan Sun sighs, her gaze trailing across the cargo hold floor. "It was... not good. A lot of its hardware had decayed from lack of maintenance. It was... confused. Maybe-... maybe scared. As far as an AI can get scared I guess." She offers no direct answer to the second question.

Jessica frowns, noticing the avoidance, but she's far too blunt to let it go. "Sooooo? Why did it listen to you?" she repeats, "No lying! Remember!?"

Yan Sun shoots a subtle glance up at the ceiling and then looks to Jessica. "It decided that trusting me to shut it down was better than being outright destroyed by the turian."

Jessica continues to frown as she listens. She finally just shrugs her shoulders. "So... what? Is it just going to be asleep on that iceberg now...? Forever?"

Yan Sun fidgets uneasily. "Jessica, I-... do we have to talk about this right now? It wasn't exactly a pleasant experience..." she says, not sounding particularly convincing.

Jessica's gaze remains fixed on Yan Sun. "Yes." she says plainly, "I want to know what happened... You were mind controlled by an AI, kitty cat." She lets out a sigh, shrugging as she swings her legs back and forth, the heel of her sneakers thumping loudly against the crate, "I thought they were going to kill you."

Yan Sun frowns, hints of guilt in her face. She reaches out to place her hand on Jessica's wrist. "I-... I'm sorry. It was just using me as... a microphone, sort of. Trying to communicate. And... that allowed me to get a glimpse of it as well. Communicate with it." She shoots another glance up at the ceiling before leaning in closer to Jessica. "Can't talk in front of the VI." she whispers.

Jessica glances up as well, a look of concern washing over her. "Uhhh.... And why can't you? ...What did you do?" she asks, not expecting an answer obviously. It's more of an accusation.

Yan Sun shifts uncomfortably on top of the crate, an apologetic look in her eyes as she meets Jessica's gaze. "Can we talk somewhere else...?" she says, maintaining a quiet tone.

Jessica shrugs her shoulders lightly, still propping herself up with her hands. "Uhhh, okay...." she says, giving a glance around, "....Where? You're the one good at sneaking around and making a mess all over expensive equipment, not me."

Yan Sun looks a little embarassed at the last comment, but jumps off the crate and after a quick glance around to locate Spencer - he is now surveying Ling's initial repairs to the broken down Triton - she makes her way to the snowcrawler he just fixed, slipping in the still open door.

Jessica hops off behind Yan Sun and follows her inside the vehicle, showing little concern for whether anyone spots them at this point. "Sooooo?" she asks once inside, "What's all of this secretive shit about? I'm lost, kitty cat." She folds her arms across her chest and tilts her head to the side as she awaits a response.

Yan Sun 's omni-tool manifests briefly and she presses a few buttons to close the door. She then turns around in a circle, her gaze wandering around the vehicle as if searching for something. Once satisifed that they won't be overheard she turns to Jessica. "Don't freak out, okay...?" she says, a worried frown on her face.

Jessica's frown only deepens. "Kitty cat... What did you do?" she asks sternly, stomping closer to Yan Sun.

Yan Sun winces slightly. "I-... after I shut the AI down I disconnected the blue box and-... okay, uhm... the blue box is a special type of compact quantum computer that serves as the central processing unit for most self-aware computing systems, it-..."

Jessica's gaze goes distant as the word 'quantum' is used, everything onward clearly not registering. "You shut the AI down and-....? Then?" she interrupts, cutting through the tech mumbo jumbo.

Yan Sun shifts her stance, an uncomfortable look on her face. "Okay, so... the blue box is like the brain of an AI, alright? I... I disconnected it from the mainframe and brought it with me. I-... I promised to save the AI if it let me shut it down...."

Jessica stares at Yan Sun for an uncomfortable amount of time, barely even blinking. "Tell me you're joking." she says, sucking a deep breath in through her nose, "...You're too smart to be that stupid." She shakes her head a couple of times, beginning to get worked up, "You-.... It-..... It tried to contact the geth, kitty cat! The geth! What's to stop it from-... You won't reactivate it, yes? Just-... Why do you even

have it!?"

Yan Sun cringes at Jessica's reaction, but shakes her head at her first question. "N-No, of course not! It's not active! It can't do anything without additional hardware!" she insists. "I promise. It's inert."

Jessica continues to stare down Yan Sun. "So why do you have it!?" she asks directly. "What are you planning to do with it if you're not going to reactivate it? It's dangerous, kitty cat...."

Yan Sun frowns. "I haven't figured that out yet... but-... but I will. I couldn't just leave it. I promised I'd get it out of that place!"

Jessica brings a hand up to her forehead, letting out a long sigh. "It's an AI! An AI that almost got us killed! You-.... You have to get rid of it, kitty cat. ...Yes? You promised you would get it out of that place, mmm?" She looks aroud before settling back on Yan Sun, "As far as I can see, you held up your end of the deal. Into the trash compactor with it, mmm?"

Yan Sun shakes her head. "No! I can't do that! I'm not just letting it die! And I sure as 狗屎 not handing it over to some faceless corp."

Jessica furrows her brow. "...Die...?" she asks, looking confused. "It-... It's not really alive, yes? Just-... a computer. Is just like shutting it down, mmm?" She sighs and reaches out, grasping Yan Sun's wrists gently. "I just don't want to see you get into trouble, kitty cat... AI is serious stuff, mmm? And-... And what if it-... You know...." her frown deepensm "Tries to do to you what it did before? Then what?"

Yan Sun 's frown deepens. She seems a little frustrated but her expression softens when Jessica grasps her wrist, her gaze darting down briefly before returning to Jessica's face. "Yes it's alive! And I'm not killing it. I'm not going to do anything stupid, okay? It's completely safe while it's offline, and I'll keep it that way until I figure out what to do. Just... trust me. Please...?"

Jessica scoffs, her gaze lowering to Yan Sun's hands. "Do I have a choice? Mmm?" she asks quietly, raising her gaze to meet Yan Sun's. She gives a shrug. "What do I care? Wrong choice, right choice-..." she sighs, "...I'm behind you either way. At least until you give me reason not to be..."

Yan Sun slides her hands down to hold Jessica's, squeezing them gently. "Thanks." she says, a relieved smile forming. "I just-... the others wouldn't understand. They'd force me to destroy it. You won't tell them, right...?"

Jessica gives another shrug. "I don't plan on being around long enough for it to matter." she reminds her, "So-... So just figure out what you are going to do with it quick, mmm? We don't want to be carrying around an inactive AI that might be dangerous when we leave Aite-..." she begins before releasing her grip on Yan Sun's hands and shaking her head a bunch of times, "Not that-...! I'm not saying you will be coming with

me!" she clamps shut, frowning at Yan Sun as if she had something to do with the slip-of-tongue. "You know what I mean!"

Yan Sun is unable to contain a small grin at Jessica's reaction, but she supress it quickly. "I'll figure it out when we're on Aite." she says with a nod.

Jessica gives Yan Sun a shove, frown still etched on her face. "And be careful!" she orders. "Otherwise I will hurt you. Bad." she threatens.

Yan Sun stumbles backwards slightly and nods. "Of course! I'm always careful!"

Jessica tilts her head to the side, as if to ask 'Really!?' "You can barely put one foot in front of the other without breaking your neck. That is not careful." she teases, although her frown persists.

Yan Sun gains a frown of her own, looking a little embarassed. "Well-... yeah, but this I know how to handle."

Jessica rolls her eyes. "You fill me with confidence, kitty cat." she says sarcastically.

Yan Sun 's shoulders drop with a sigh. "I know what I'm doing..." she insists, bringing up her omni-tool. "I, uh... I can let you out now."

Jessica casts a glance back towards the door, then looks back to Yan Sun with a raise of her eyebrow. "Is that so? Mmm, well isn't this a change of pace. Usually you just drag me off to hidden corners to take advantage of me. I-... I don't know how to feel." she says, with a mock look of confusion.

Yan Sun looks flustered as her gaze moves up to from her omni-tool screen to Jessica. "Wha-... I don't-... that's not-... what?" she stammers.

Jessica cocks her head to one side again as if to say 'Come on'. "Uh huh. Riiiight. You just go ahead and play dumb. We both know your tricks."

Yan Sun shakes her head slightly. "I-... I don't do that!" she protests. "As I recall it you're the one that pinned me to an elevator wall!" she says, her expression a mix of embarassment and amusement.

Jessica gives a mock look of shock. "Wha-... me!? You dragged me off into an elevator, killed the lights and locked us in together. You knew exactly what you were doing!" She shrugs her shoulders dismissively, "I was just giving you what you wanted."

Yan Sun avoids looking straight at Jessica, looking increasingly embarassed by the moment, but a small, awkward grin forms. "I mean-... I was just-..." she shrugs. "Maybe I was hoping..." she mumbles.

Jessica holds her stare, pleased with the reaction she's getting. "Mmhmm. 'Hoping'. I'm suuuuure. But you just go on ahead and keep blaming me." she purrs. "You don't lock a wild animal in a room with a piece of meat and then blame them for taking a bite, mmm?" she says with a big grin, reaching out and lifting Yan Sun's chin in an attempt at meeting her gaze.

Yan Sun lets out a brief, nervous chuckle, her gaze travelling over Jessica's face with an almost entranced look to her. "Mmh... no... no you don't..." she says quietly.

Jessica steps closer, index finger still pressed against Yan Sun's chin. "Exactly. You see? This is why I like you, kitty cat." she grins, "You understand me, yes?" Her other hand moves to Yan Sun's shoulder and slowly slides down it.

Yan Sun 's grin solidifies as Jessica steps closer, and when she feels the hand slide down her shoulder she shivers slightly, still meeting Jessica's stare. "Mhm... I think I'm starting to..." she says, her voice still quiet.
