Athassa is in the passenger quarters, sitting in a chair at a small table and discussing human culture with whoever happens to be around.

Plask is asleep in his bunk, growling faintly in his sleep as he drools.

Yan Sun is in the passenger quarters, having answered a couple of questions from Athassa, but she is quite clearly distracted, sitting on top of her bunk as she often does, wearing her gray hoodie open, with the hood up as she looks at her omni-tool, although it seems like she’s looking past the screen at her sheets half the time.

Jessica returns to the passenger quarters after finishing her lunch and makes her way over to her locker, rifling through it for a few moments as she catches the tail end of Athassa's last question.

Athassa 's last question goes unanswered by Yan Sun. "...haven't been to New York? It's your capital, right?"

Yan Sun lets out a quiet groan at Athassa's question, not responding. When she notices Jessica her eyes inevitably turns to her, studying her furtively as her gaze passes straight through the projected screen she was watching.

Jessica shuts her locker as she turns around. "What are you talking about?" she asks with a confused look on her face, little worry that she may be interrupting someone elses conversation. She glances over at Yan Sun and lifts a hand slightly, waving with her fingers. "Didn't see you out there at lunch."

Nathan opens the door and steps inside. He's dressed in a pair of jeans, a white t-shirt and his trainers. He looks over the assembled and offers them all a nod.

Athassa looks at Jessica, equally confused. "New York. Earth's capital, yes?"

Nathan blinks. "Eh?"

Jessica looks to Athassa blankly, then to Yan Sun. Finally her gaze rests on Nathan with a slight, embarassed shrug. "....Yes?"

Yan Sun gains a sheepish smile as she's noticed, sort of returning the wave with a small movement of her omni-tool hand. "Yeah, I, uh... guess I forgot." She leaves anyone but her to handle Athassa for now, having grown tired of answering questions.

Earth... doesn't have a capital...

Nathan says, looking around to the others.

Jessica nods a bunch. "Mmhmm. No capital on Earth." she agrees, leaning back against her locker.

Athassa furrows her brows. "Oh... but I thought-... huh. I just assumed, since I've heard so much about this amazing New York..."

Yan Sun snickers quietly at Jessica's attempt to coast on Nathan's knowledge, still half-hidden behind her omni-tool.

Nathan looks to Athassa and snorts. "New York? Pfffft. If anywhere on Earth was to be the capital, it would be Berlin. Now -that- would make for a beautiful capital."

Jessica's eyes dart back and forth between Athassa and Nathan as they speak back and forth, arms folded over her chest. "Berlin is-.... yeah." she nods, having absolutely no clue what she's agreeing to, "Beautiful." She glances up at Yan Sun and shrugs knowingly.

Nathan looks to Jessica, her obvious lack of knowledge not escaping him. "You don't have to pretend, Jessica. Not everyone has been to Earth. Even some humans."

Athassa looks between the two humans curiously. "Berlin? I haven't heard of that."

Yan Sun is unable to supress an amused grin at Jessica's bewilderment, and when she looks her way she pulls up her kness, burying her face against them, muffled laughter escaping.

Jessica frowns at Yan Sun and looks downward sheepishly. "I've been to Earth..." she mutters softly.

Nathan hums a laugh. "Don't worry about it," he assures her at her sheepish look. "Hey, maybe someday when this is all over and we get past the whole, I might stab you thing, I could take you!" He says with an enthusiastic grin. He then looks to Athassa and chuckles. "And Berlin is the capital of Germany, my home country. So, uh, maybe don't listen to me when I say

it should be the capital of Earth. I'm veeeeery biased."

Athassa looks to Jessica. "Ah, you are not from Earth then? You arrived in the galaxy so recently, I did not realize there were any adults not from your homeworld."

Yan Sun wraps her arms around her knees and rests her chin against her knees, a warm smile as she sees Jessica's reaction.

Jessica waves at Nathan dismissively. "I am from Earth." she says with a nod, her voice still quiet, appearing somewhat uncomfortable with the subject. "I just-...." she shrugs, "-...didn't spend much time there is all...."

Nathan watches the wave and shrugs. He turns to walk over to his bunk and flop into it. "If you don't want to talk, just say," he says simply. He activates his omni-tool and starts to scan through it. He seems to have finally concluded that Jessica would rather not have much to do with him. He already got that impression from Yan the other day.

Jessica frowns at Nathan's comments. "It's not that, Ten. I-... we got off on the wrong foot. That's all. I'm not sure where to go from there. You tried to fight me and I threatened to stab you in the neck. Do you really think we have room to be friends after that?" she asks, although her voice is surprisingly lacking any venom for once. It was just an honest question, no undertones.

Athassa looks on in confusion, not wanting to interfere.

Nathan sighs and looks up at her, omni-tool forgotten. "Yes," he says. "Look, I am honestly sorry for what I did. Really. And I do think we have some capacity to be friends. Shit, we both like blowing things up!" He spreads his arms for emphasis. "I'm willing to let bygones be bygones, 'Kay? Besides, it wouldn't be the first time a friend has threatened to stab

me." He grins.

Yan Sun lowers her knees as Nathan and Jessica talk, a quiet sigh escaping her. She remains silent, her omni-tool projection disappating. As it seems the direction of their discussion is mostly void of hostility she seems a bit less discouraged.

Jessica seems sceptical at first, but as he mentions blowing things up, she nods slowly. "I do like to blow things up...." she mutters softly, "....And nor would you be the first friend I've stabbed in the neck." She quickly lets out a cough, "....Or threatened to stab in the neck...."

Nathan chuckles quietly, waving off her comment. "Alright. So, shall we try again?"

Athassa studies the two in fascination from her chair.

Jessica gives another quick shrug. "What's the worst that can happen?" she finally agrees with a slight smile. Her eyes move over to Yan Sun and she passes the woman another shrug. "I don't think I'll be making any trips to Earth with you anytime soon, though..." she adds with a chuckle.

Nathan shrugs, taking that as the best answer he will get. "Note I said 'could'," he says before returning to his omni-tool.

Yan Sun continues to observe the conversation from her bed, her legs now folded again.

Jessica allows a smile to fully form on her face. "Could." she repeats with a nod, "Alright, Ten. So... Tell us about this-... Berlin."

Athassa nods in agreement. "Yes, tell us!"

Yan Sun doesn't seem particularly interested in hearing anything about Berlin. She leans back against the wall and re-activates her omni-tool, starting to play a game.

Nathan blinks. "Oh, well." he says. He closes down his omni-tool and sits bolt upright, crossing his legs. "It's a magical land, filled with gumdrops and rainbows-" he stops and smirks. "Heh, I'll spare you the sarcastic bullshit for once. It's one of the largest cities in the European Union and it is a city rich in history and culture." He seems genuinely excited

to talk about it. "Most of the old architecture has been preserved, immortalized in time. And, it's one of the leading cities in medical research and cleaning up the planet from the effects of the 21st Century." He realizes that most of this wouldn't be all that interesting to Jessica, but it seems Athassa is enthralled in it.

Athassa listens intently, hands on her knee.

Jessica listens quietly as she crosses the room and climbs up into bed. Yan Sun's bed. And props herself up against the wall beside her, giving a quick glance at her omni-tool before refocusing on Nathan. "So... It's old...?" she says, not sounding particularly impressed, but suddenly changes her tune, thinking better of souring their newfound 'friendship' so quickly. "I mean, ohhhh... It's old!" she repeats, sounding

much more impressed now. "What sort of stuff do you do in Berlin?"

Yan Sun rolls her eyes as Nathan talks about Berlin. When Jessica climbs into the bunk she's quickly distracted though, shooting her a quick glance and a hesitant smile. Her omni-tool is displaying the menu of the classic RPG 'Void Cause'. She allows her omni-tool hologram to fade away, deciding to humor Nathan for the moment.

Nathan chuckles, shaking his head. "I know that part doesn't interest much," he says. "However, the night life is something to witness. Something that has persisted through time is the rules for the clubs... and that is that there is almost none. They can stay open for as long as they like. I remember going there and partying in the same damn club all weekend." He

chuckles. "Man, my account was drained of credits quickly."

Jessica raises an eyebrow at Nathan as she leans against Yan Sun slightly. "Clubs? Now you're speaking my language. Perhaps Berlin isn't so bad..." she muses. "Strong nightlife in Adrasteia. Maybe not as big as Berlin, but plenty of trouble to get yourself into."

Athassa seems very much curious, but reluctant to interrupt. Eventually she asks: "Are there many aliens in Berlin?"

Nathan leans back into his bunk, a brief quirk of his eyebrow as he notes the closeness of Jess and Yan. A small smirk creeps onto his face, though he plays it off as interest in the nightlife in Adrasteia. "Oh yeah? Now that sounds like my idea of a night out." He pauses and his smirk grows wider. "Shit, my first few hours in Freedom Falls involved a damn bar

fig-" He looks to Athassa, smiling at her. He seems to enjoy her curiosity. "A fair amount, I think. My home city, Hamburg, is the home of one of Earth's many spaceports. Heh, it's even called 'Gateway to the World'. Fitting. And with Hamburg and Berlin being a few hours away from one another, any alien tourists tend to congregate in the cities." He pauses

as he realizes he is rambling. "So, in short, yes."

Athassa nods to Nathan's answers. "I can't believe I've never heard of this place! Sounds fascinating! I simply must make sure to go when I visit Earth! Are there any sights I should see?"

Yan Sun 's gaze darts briefly to Jessica again, before she returns her attention to Nathan. She unfolds her legs and stretches them out ahead of her instead, her right arm falling down between her and Jessica.

Jessica takes the opening to place her left hand over Yan Sun's right, giving it a slight pat, but her attention remains focused on Nathan. "I'm more interested in why you left if it's so great." she says, her words sounding like genuine curiosity rather than a cheap shot for once.

Nathan side-eyes Yan and Jessica, before focusing his attention back to Athossa. "Of course. There's-" Jessica's words halt him and he turns back to her. He offers her a small smile. "Because as much as I loved it there, I wanted to explore. I wanted to see the galaxy and experience it for myself. Not through word of mouth or extranet pictures." He smiles fondly.

"When my friend Alwin asked me to go off-world with him, I couldn't resist. So, I packed up and went with him to explore the galaxy!" He points upwards dramatically, adding flair to his voice. He then immediately deflates and looks to the ground. "...and I then ended up working in a warehouse for two years on a backwater in the Terminus. Sooooooo that didn't

go to plan."

Athassa chuckles. "Happens to the best of us, I am sure."

Yan Sun remains silent, not really showing any particular interest, but content to listen regardless. She slowly tries to nestle her fingers in between Jessica's, keeping her gaze focused on Nathan in an attempt to not make it too obvious that she's only remained in the room because of her.

Jessica opens her mouth to participate in the conversation, but suddenly falls silent as she realizes she can't exactly go into much concerning her real life on Aite. A sudden feeling of sadness, and shame, overcomes her, but her attention is drawn to Yan Sun as their fingers intertwine, causing her to forget her disappointment just as quickly as it cropped up. She gives Yan Sun a smile. A gentle, sincere smile. "And

where is your friend now?" she asks, jumping back into the conversation, "Did he lose his lust for exploration?"

Nathan notes the closeness between the two, but elects to not point it out. What they do is their business, after all. "No... remember me mentioning Sandbeck? Well we both joined up with them. He stayed even when I... left. It was a good move for him to stay. He's actually made it really far up their career ladder now. Captains one of the two ships that they have,"

he says with a fond smile. He then looks to Athassa, giving her a look. "Hey, do you want to go to the cafeteria and grab a drink? I could tell you more about Earth," he glances to the pair and offers them a wink, hinting at where he's getting at.

Athassa lights up. "I would love to! I clearly have much left to learn! Are you sure it's no bother?"

Yan Sun smirks as she notices Jessica's smile, squeezing her hand lightly as she listens to Nathan. At the wink she looks a bit puzzled, almost opening her mouth to say something, but thinking better of it.

Jessica raises an eyebrow as Nathan winks. A short chuckle escapes her as she realizes what he's trying to imply. She plays it up, releasing her grip on Yan Sun's hand and wrapping her arm around the woman's shoulders instead. She gives a couple slow nods to Nathan before turning and laying a big, loud kiss on the side of Yan Sun's temple, making a show of it for the onlooker.

Nathan stifles a laugh and looks to Athassa, nodding. He's already on his feet and almost to the door. "Of course it isn't! C'mon!"

Athassa follows Nathan out of the room with an amused glance at Jessica and Yan Sun.

Yan Sun 's cheeks turn red from embarassment as Jessica plants the exaggerated kiss on her temple, and she closes her eyes until Nathan is gone, going for the 'pretend like he's not there' tactic. As soon as she hears the door closing she opens her eyes, and then shoves Jessica lightly with her shoulder. "You're awful." she mutters.

Jessica removes her arm from around Yan Sun and lets out a big laugh. "Don't pretend you don't love it." she teases, "Now. Show me. What was that on your omni-tool?" she asks, gripping Yan Sun's wrist and lifting it for effect.
