#Passenger – March 31, 2016

Yan Sun enters the passenger quarters, heading over to Jessica’s bunk. “You got a second?”

Bort is struggling with a datapad in the passenger quarters, shaking the device in anger. "Blaah! Stupid thing!" He looks around for help, eyes landing on Uvena. "Asari help?"

Uvena hops off her bed and starts walking towards the vorcha. She wasn't very confortable around their kind, but then again, vorcha that haven't been beaten into combatants by krogan mercenaries are very rare. "What is the problem?" she asks.

Jessica is sitting atop her bed, looking over her omni-tool. She glances over at Yan Sun as she begins to speak and the interface dissipates. She stares at the woman for a few moments before finally shrugging. "For you? I've got two seconds." she says, climbing down from her bed. "What is it?"

Bort holds the datapad out for Uvena to take a look at, letting out a frustrated growl. "Search not working! Not connecting!"

Yan Sun gains a small smile, and nods towards the door. "I'll show you." she says and heads for the door, glancing back to make sure Jessica is following.

Uvena leans a bit to look at the datapad. "What were you searching for?" she asks. "Do I want to know?" A chuckle follows.

Jessica shoves her omni-tool into one of the large cargo pockets in her pants and follows behind Yan Sun. "O...kay...?" she says sceptically, "I don't like surprises."

Bort grunts. "Information about turians! Plask say they're mean!"

Uvena raises an eyebrow. "Oh? Why does Plask think that?" She moves to stand against the wall the bunk beds are perpendicular to. "We lost extranet access this morning, that's why it's not working. There's nothing anyone here can do about it until the expedition is over, I'm afraid."

Bort takes the datapad back with a frustrated noise. "Turian insulted Plask at breakfast! Does not respect vorcha!"

Uvena sighs. "Which turian did that?" she asks. "Not all turians are the same." She seems a lot less uncomfortable now than when she approached him.

Bort snarls. "The ugly one!"

Uvena smirks. "That's not narrowing it down very much," she jokes. "Do you know where he sleeps? That way, I might know who you're talking about."

Bort shakes his head. "Nooo..." he hisses.

Artullin enters the passenger compartment and heads over to his bunk, not paying anyone any attention.

Uvena looks thoughtful for a moment. She notices the turian in the corner of her eye. "You know, you shouldn't just take Plask's word for it completely," she says. "Maybe he just had a bad day and took it out on Plask. That happens to the best of us."

Bort turns his head to look at the turian with suspicion, but returns his attention to Uvena. "Maybe... or maybe turian always has bad day!"

Artullin has clocked onto the fact he is being talked about. However, he pays little bother to it and sits on his bed, activating his omni-tool and scrolling through something.

Uvena nods. "Maybe," she says, "but how would you know from just one observation made by someone else?"

Bort gnashes his teeth a bit. "Maybe..." he repeats.

Uvena gives a small smile. "So, what do you do around here?" she asks, sounding curious. She may also be trying to steer the topic away from turians.

Bort ponders the question for a while. "Bort helps research team! Carry equipment, handle dangerous things. Asari not resilient like Bort!"

Uvena chuckles. "You got us beat there," she admits. "Are you going to be joining us on the ground when we get there?"

Bort nods. "Yes! Bort will assist on the surface!"

Uvena gives a sharp nod. "Glad to hear it," she says. "I think everybody is holding out hope that we'll be superficial, but we're there to shoot back if someone else shows up to threaten the security of this expedition."

Bort tilts his head. "Who would threaten expedition? We are peaceful!"

Uvena hums thoughtfully. "Could be something living on that world that doesn't know we're peaceful," she says, "but I don't know. It's most likely nothing."

Bort nods slowly. "Yes. Nothing is better. Then we can do science in peace!"

Uvena nods. "We're on the same page there," she says before pushing away from the wall. "It was good talking with you, Bort."

Bort grunts. "Yes. Thank you for showing kindness, asari!"

Uvena smiles. "You're welcome," she says. She starts making her way out of the room through the doorway closest to the back of the ship.
