#Deck2 – April 22, 2016

Nalota is laying on her bunk, still in her researcher outfit. She seems to be sleeping, and has not reacted to the notification of the others' arrival.

Victoria 's voice can be heard over the speakers all throughout the ship: "The RSV Saint Lucia is now departing. All injured passengers are to report to the medbay for treatment. Healthy passengers should return to their quarters until we have entered FTL." A moment later there the muffled roar of the ship thrusters starting can be heard, and the entire ship starts to shake as it behins to ascend up into the atmosphere.

Uvena remains in the elevator for now. "Which deck is the medbay on?" she asks, the question not directed at anyone specific.

Yan Sun seems to contemplate riding up to Deck 1 with the others, but decides against, stepping out. "Deck 1, I think." she says to Uvena before heading off towards the passenger quarters with a distracted look on her face.

Jason frowns and points upwards. "One more up." he says, reaching out to tap the proper floor's button. "You did good out there, Uvena." he offers as he waits for the elevator to take them to the next deck, "I know everything didn't go as smoothly as it could have, but we were lucky to have you out there with us."

Rala steps out of the elevator after Yan Sun, going with to the passenger quarters.

Plask decides they don't need any medical care, and steps out of the elevator to the passenger quarters as well.

Uvena takes off her helmet. "Don't mention it," she says. "I knew what I was getting into when I signed on."

Nathan is sat in the canteen, cradling a mug of coffee in his working hand. He sips at it, sighing contently as the warm liquid passes down his throat. "Oh thank Christ...".

Artullin is also in the canteen. He has changed into some simple clothing and is chewing on a dextro-bar, gazing out the window.

Jessica exits the shower, happy to be back in cargo pants and a tanktop. She tugs her beige cap onto her head as she slowly makes her way down the hallway.

Jasper is sitting across from Nathan with a cup of his own. "I ain't ever swimmin' again." he says, giving a big shake of his head, "Jus' ain't doin' it."

Uvena leaves the passenger compartment, having showered and changed into a form-fitting but modest green long-sleeved top and simple blue jeans. She looks around, her eyes starting at her usual spot, frowning as it's occupied.

Ilyna is said occupant, and she's barely looking up from her third portion of what is currently being served.

Nathan nods in agreement, placing the cup down with a thunk. He has changed into a simple white t-shirt and jeans. "Agreed. I'm never going to be able to look at a fish the same way," he says with a shudder.

Jasper nods in turn. "We're servin' beef at the cookout." he says sternly, "Not a fish in sight. No sir."

Nathan closes his head and leans his head back. "Mhmm... beeeef. Man, I'll make some of my burgers. An ol' family recipe passed down from generation to generation!" he says dramatically.

Yan Sun is in the cafeteria, a plate of pasta gratin, one of the three levo options currently being served, in front of her. She's wasting no time scooping it into her mouth, not having eaten for much longer than she'd prefer. She's changed into a pair of gray sweatpants, a t-shirt, and is wearing her hoodie.

Artullin rolls his eyes as he listens to the two chit-chat. He resumes his gazing out the window, the bar half-way consumed.

Jessica continues down the hall, leaning into the passenger's quarters just enough to hurl her bag of stuff into the room before moving back to the cafetaria to get something to drink.

Jasper listens to Nathan with great interest. "Ooooh! Family recipe ya say? Got a few a' my own ta share. We'll trade notes! Wonder if the Chief'll let us cater the weddin'!"

Nathan blinks and looks to Jasper. "Now that would be grand, right? Burgers and beef for all!" He chuckles, shaking his head softly.

Uvena walks across the room, deciding to start with finding something to eat.

Yan Sun looks up as she spots Jessica, waving her over with a smile.

Korio takes a seat near Ilyna, setting his tray down. "I understand you had quite the adventure out there." he says, looking down at his food, "But it seems that all went well in the end."

Jessica grabs herself a glass of juice and a plate of food before joining Yan Sun. "Feels good to be out of that armor." she says with a sigh as she sits across from the woman, "Felt like it was going to meld with my flesh."

Jasper slaps a hand against the table. "Damn tootin'! We oughtta offer when we get back! Put together a lil' sampler platter, all fancy-like! Show 'er what we can do! You ever make a burger on an overheated turret!? That'll put a smile on yer face, lemme tell ya."

Yan Sun is unable to respond immediately due to a mouthful of food, but she nods, and after swallowing speaks up. "I'm just glad to be out of the cold... how do you feel?"

Ilyna nods. "That is correct," she says. "I didn't see much of the action, though, except for our first encounter."

Jessica brings a hand down to her side and grunts. "I feel fine." She lowers her gaze to her plate before sighing, "I feel like a kebab." she admits with a frown.

Nathan he shakes his head with a soft laugh, sipping at his coffee. "Can't say I have. Though we roasted some pork on the spit with a flamethrower, back when I was in Sandbeck," he muses. "And I've been on a planet where it was hot enough to fry eggs of a rock. Had a whole meal cooking outside," he says. He glances at Uvena as she walks through, his lips drawing

Jasper smirks at the story. "We could do a whole theme! Cookin' with weaponry! Think that'd be fittin' for a weddin' like this, right?" he says, no humor in his tone whatsoever.

Nathan snorts, smiling. "That can't be healthy. Or safe!" He sips at his drink again. "One thing at a time, Jasp. We still need to talk about the kodiak."

Yan Sun looks briefly happy at getting some honesty out of Jessica, but quickly feels guilty since she's in pain. "You had me scared for a while there..." she says before her gaze falls down to the table. She scoops up another forkfull of gratin and bites down on it.

Korio bows his head as he takes a bite of his meal. "Well, I seem to have avoided all of the action." he says with a low chuckle, "For that, I apologize. I would like to have been able to assist you and the others."

Jessica shrugs once more. "Scared?" she snorts, looking down at her plate of food, "Careful, kitty cat. Don't want to slip and catch some feelings on your way down. Wouldn't be good for anyone."

Nathan grimaces. "Don't think the Chief likes me all that much...".

Jasper waves Nathan's concerns away. "Don't think she makes a habit of likin' anyone all that much. But she's good people. Stick with it and you'll be fine!"

Ilyna smiles, but she takes a few seconds to respond. "You don't have to apologize for that," she says. "We didn't know that we would run into trouble, and we couldn't leave the camp defenseless."

Korio continues to focus on his food. "Of course. I'm just glad to see that everyone made it back safely." He takes a bite of his food, chewing and swallowing before continuing. "It will be nice to return to a relatively normal day-night cycle."

Uvena brings her two full plates of dinner and takes a seat by herself to eat in peace, too hungry to chat for the time being.

Yan Sun 's gaze darts up at Jessica, but she quickly looks back down at her food, taking the next bite in silence. Her mood looks a bit dampened but she does her best to play it off. "I, uh... I've never had kebab." she says, looking off to her side at the people seated at some of the other tables.

Nathan shrugs lightly, finishing off the last dregs of coffee. "Alright, I'll try," he muses. "Seriously though, what do you think to a A-61 Mantis Gunship?"

Jessica stabs her utensil into her food, mostly just pushing it around. "No? Well, perhaps we change that when we get back, mmm?" She shrugs her shoulders once again as her smirk widens, "I figure it will take me at least a few days before I can get a reliable way off of that rock. If you're going to be around...." she trails off.

Ilyna nods. "I'm looking forward to seeing the people back home again," she says before standing up. "I'll speak to you later." She gather up her plates and moves over drop them off before heading over to the bathroom to check if the showers are completely empty.

Jasper gives a quick shrug. "Ya mean in general? S'pose they're useful ta have 'round in a pinch. Good in a whole lotta situations. You tryin' a' pitch the Chief on one? Would be a fun thing to fiddle 'round with, that's fer sure! Don't think the budget would allow fer it, though..."

Nathan looks at Jasper in silence, giving him a look that suggests where Nathan is getting at. He slowly cants his head. "Yeah, a budget for one ship...".

Jasper raises an eyebrow. "I'unno whatcher gettin' at, Ten. Run it by her, see what she says. I mean, I'd love ta' get my hands on a gunship ta' tinker with!" he says with a shrug.

Nathan shrugs with Jasper, not entirely sure where he was getting at either. "Eh, where's the harm in asking?" He muses. "Shit, we could just look for one in a scrapyard and get that up and running."

Jasper points across the table to Nathan. "Not that I like! A lil fix'er'upper project fer us ta' tinker with. I'unno where we might find one, but I ain't afraid a' doin' a lil' legwork."

Nathan rubs his chin in thought. "Weeeeell, I could get in touch with a few people. They know some people who know some people who can get us a Mantis. I mean, it'd be little more than a frame so it shouldn't be more than... a few thousand credits. We can rig it up however way we want it!" He says, getting more enthusiastic.

Yan Sun flashes a faint, insincere smile and gives a shrug of her own. "I might be..." she says, taking another bite of her food.

Jasper taps his head a few times. "Ol' Jasper has still got a few tricks up his sleeves."

Nathan smacks his hand against the table, then points to Jasper. "Yes! Aha, this will be awesomeeeee!" He then pauses. "If we get the go ahead, I mean...".

Jessica glances up from her food. "Might be?" she asks, leaning an elbow on the table, "Oh, I'm soooo sorry. I wasn't aware you were needed elsewhere." Her eyes dart back and forth between her food and Yan Sun, "...Whatever. Do what you want." she says distantly with a shrug of her shoulders. "Was just an offer."

Jasper nods. "So. These peoples who know peoples.... This the sorta stuff they deal in? Military-grade hardware?"

Nathan nods, pushing his cup to the side. "Yeah. I still have a few contacts in Sandbeck and they in turn know suppliers in Citadel and Alliance space. Most of it is legal, though obviously there are times where red tape has to be avoided," he says quietly. "But an old Mantis left out to rust in a scrapyard? Should be a piece of piss for them. If we fork out some

Jasper takes another sip of his drink as Nathan speaks. "Eh. I enjoy the 'hard work'. That ain't no problem. Was jus' figurin' it might be worth checkin' to see what else they might be able ta' get their hands on. Ol' Betsy could still use an upgrade, but it's jus' too hard ta' get ahold a' that sorta hardware..."

Yan Sun keeps her focus on her plate as she scoops up the last of her food. "No, yeah, I'll... think about it..." she mumbles before eating the last bite. She stands up, grabbing her plate and going off to put it on the counter before turning around and heading through the cafeteria towards the passenger quarters. She ends up shooting a quick glance Jessica's way, causing her to quicken her pace.

Nathan hurms and looks to Jasper. "Well, we could forgo the Mantis and focus on gearing up Ol' Betsy in-" he looks to the side as Yan rushes away, raising an eyebrow curious to Jessica before looking back to Jasper.

Jessica seems caught off-guard by her sudden departure. "Hey wai-... Where are yo-..." She trails off, her gaze following the woman as her face fills with confusion. "...O-...Okay..." she calls out, "....I'll talk to you later, kitty cat....?" She catches sight of Nathan looking her way and merely gives a shrug. She returns her attention to her food with a sigh.

Jasper follows Nathan's gaze, but doesn't comment on it, merely shrugging his shoulders. "Well we got all that space back there. Havin' more than one project goin' on ain't a bad thing. 'Specially if I got a partner ta' help me out." He looks pointedly at Nathan, "Eh? Eh?"

Nathan grins at Jasper and nods. "Then I'll run it by the bosses and, if we get the go ahead, I'll get in contact with my people and see what they can provide for us. Gimmie a list and I'll see what else they can send for Ol' Betsy," he says. He glances to the side, humming. "I'll also need to get a replacement for my rifle and talk to Lucy... see if she can't come

Jasper nods once again. "I'll getchya that list soon as we're back on Aite. Might be worth talkin' ta' Jay an' the Chief concernin' yer armor an' weapon. Might be somethin' they're willin' ta cover considerin' it was damage done in the field."

Nathan shrugs lightly. "Maybe. It doesn't bother me all that much," he says.

Jasper continues about with his enthusiastic hardware chatter with Nathan.

Jessica continues staring at her food for a long while before she actually gets to eating any of it, leaning her head heavily against the palm of her hand as she props it up with her elbow.
