#Deck4 – April 1, 2016
Harmonia is once again in the cargo hold, waiting for Nalota to arrive for further practice with the Triton. She’s sitting on a crate as she waits, reading from a datapad.
Jasper has been perusing the cargo hold, as he has been doing for the past two days. He spots Spencer and Pablo and mosies over in their direction, watching curiously. "Whatcha got there?" he asks, peering over Spencer's shoulder.
Nalota exits the elevator, and makes her way over to the mech and Harmonia. She's in her researcher uniform, with a form-fitting blue top underneath. She is three minutes later than she said she would be.
Spencer glances up at Jasper. "This here is a genuine Olunar deck. You ever played?" He looks back at his cards. It's unclear who's turn it is, as both of them are simply staring at their hands.
Jasper furrows his brow, leaning over further until he's practically hovering over the man's shoulder. "Ain't ever seen nothin' like it. Deal me in." he says, scrambling off to the side between the men and looking for something to pull up and sit on.
Harmonia gives Nalota a weary look. "Finally..." she says, despite the minimal delay. "Alright, let's get started right away." She hops off the crate and steps over to the one mech that is open. "Anything in particular that gave you trouble last time?"
Nalota climbs into the mech, taking much less time to get settled in it than yesterday. "Time with it is all I need, I think," she says. "You said it yourself that it's not a graceful machine. I didn't imagine that meant it was like an intoxicated krogan, though."
Spencer shrugs apologetically. "Aww man, I'm sorry, can't just jump in at the middle of a game. That won't work. Gotta finish our game first!"
Harmonia lets out an amused snort. "Eh, you'll get the hang of it. Just have to get used to the weight and the delay."
Jasper gives a nod, waving his hands in front of him. "I ain't tryin'a interrupt yer' game. Ain't a big deal if I jus' sit an' watch til' the next hand-.... game.... deal...? Is it?" He spots a crate and drags it over, parking himself atop it.
Spencer waves Jasper over with a grin. "Sure, man, sure." He continues to stare at his hand, not playing any cards.
Pablo grabs the top of a card as if he's going to play it, and then reconsiders with a shakes of his head.
Nalota looks over the controls, nodding to herself a few times as she recals yesterday's use of them. She starts using the arm controls, making the arms move a bit back and forth. Nalota doesn't say anything, however.
Jasper looks back and forth, leaning forward and back atop his makeshift seat. As Pablo has a change of heart with his play, Jasper rubs his hands together. "Ooooh, this is tense! Could cut it with an omni-blade." he says excitedly. "Either of ya'll ever play Go Fish?"
Harmonia takes a couple of steps back to give Nalota some room, leaning back against the crate she was previously seated on. "Let's see you go for a walk around the hold..."
Nalota nods. "Got it," she says, and begins turning the mech towards the back of the ship, being very careful about it as she only walked in a straight line yesterday.
Harmonia cals out: "You should probably close the hatch! Can't run it with an open cabin underwater!"
Jasper continues to watch the game with great interest, despite nothing happening. "So, elcor, you said? Ain't card games a lil' too-..." he tilts his head, wincing as if he's worried his comment may sound offensive to any elcor, "....dexterous for their kind?"
Nalota nods. "Of course," she says, looking around for such a control. "That would be unfortunate, I agree."
Nalota closes the hatch and waits for the HUD to appear. Once it does, she'll start looking it over.
Spencer shakes his head. "Naw, man. They just use bigger cards is all. Well, more like rock slabs I guess..." he says with a laugh.
Jasper gives a slight chuckle. "Them elcor. They certainly seem ta' find a way ta' handle their shit. Ain't got opposable thumbs ta' fire a weapon? Jus' strap a cannon to my back!" He slaps his knee.
Nalota starts walking the mech forward with slow and deliberate steps, picking up the pace after the third step.
Spencer chuckles alongside Jasper, but is cut off as Pablo plays a card - the second card of the game by the looks of it. It has three dots and a stripe on it. He furrows his eyebrows in concentration. "Now that there is a crafty move, Pablo... stumped me good..."
Jasper leans in close, inspecting the card with a confused expression on his face. "Hmmm.... Ain't that a pickle..." he hums, "Whatsat stripe mean?" he asks, glancing back to Spencer.
Harmonia remains leaned against the crate as she watches Nalota cross the hangar. She gestures for her to continue onward, unable to make herself heard through the hardened hatch.
Nalota glances towards Kozma and nods an affirmitive before she proceeds towards the back of the cargo bay with careful steps.
Harmonia makes some hard to interpret gestures as Nalota comes close to some crates, but with her careful steps they are avoided, if just barely. The hold is fairly cramped after all.
Jasper returns to inspecting the card, nodding at Pablo's explanation. He gives a point back towards it, cocking his head at Spencer once more, "An' the dots?"
Nalota looks at the crates she almost hit, only now understanding Kozma's gestures. She raises her brows for a moment before continuing on her way across the cargo bay.
Spencer seems about to answer Jasper, but he's distracted by the approaching stomps of the Triton, looking over at the mech. "Quite the machine, that. You gonna be pilotin' one of those?"
Jasper glances over his shoulder, watching Nalota maneuver the machine for a moment in silence as a smile crosses his lips. "Sounds like I might be." he says, returning his gaze to Spencer, "It's a chunky sum'bitch, but it gets the job done. Ever handled one?"
Nalota stops as she notices them looking at her, and she raises one of the mech's arms to wave at them, taking a whole ten seconds to do the simple gesture.
Harmonia raises a skeptical eyebrow, but her expression softens when Nalota manages to complete the gesture. She walks over until she's visible, and then gestures for hte asari to open the mech.
Nalota looks unsure when she spots Harmonia in the corner of her eyes, as if she's expecting to be told she screwed something up. She does comply with the request by opening the hatch. The mech's arm is still held high, however.
Harmonia smirks slightly. "Nice manuever. Useless, but nice. You can climb on out, I'll take them mech back to where it should be. I think you're getting the hang of this."
Nalota climbs out of the mech, making sure not to kick any shiny red buttons on the way out. "Never know when I might need to grab something overhead," she says with a grin before hopping off. "Thanks, though."
