Vasquez grunts, turning off onto the road that leads on towards the HQ. After a moment of she shoots him another glance. "I don't think it's a good idea, but... it's up to you, Jason. You saw her in the field, you know more than I do. She must've had a reason to pretend to be Alliance though. Don't see how that could be anything but trouble..." (Vasquez)
Jason nods silently. "I don't know, Linda..." he sighs, "She made a judgement call out there that I was unable to make. If she hadn't-..." he shrugs, "...I might not be here right now. I don't like someone lying to me anymore than you do, and she definitely showed her ass back there, but I'm just saying maybe you should consider sitting down and talking to her. That's all." He returns
his attention to the window as a smirk crosses his lips, "You know... if you think you can keep from wringing her neck for ten minutes. I saw that look in your eye back there. Been on the wrong end of it more times than I'm proud to admit. For what it's worth, I'm glad you didn't hit her..."
Vasquez ' frown deepens as she pulls into the parking lot of the base. It's quite obvious that she's not amused. Once they come to a stop she turns towards him, looking like she's going to say something, but instead she just lets out a sigh and opens the door to the car, stepping out into the cold air. The view is clearer away from the lights of the town center, and the imposing glow of Litae above actually catches her eye, causing (Vasquez)
Jason climbs out of the car and retrieves his things from the back seat, tossing his bag over his shoulder. He rounds the vehicle and approaches Vasquez from behind, pressing up against her as he joins her for the view, his gaze turning upward. "Whatever you decide on, I'll support your decision." he says plainly, "You know that." He rests his chin against the top of her head as he
watches the moon, "Even if you're a jerk sometimes." he adds with a chuckle, bringing his hand up to poke her in the side.
Vasquez 's gaze falls at Jason's last comment, the lighthearted nature of it doing little to stop it from further impacting her mood. She lets out a soft sigh. "I didn't mean to ruin your return..." she says, grabbing the hand that poked her and squeezing it gently. "I just-... what if her bullshit had gotten someone hurt? Had gotten you hurt?" (Vasquez)
Jason intertwines his fingers with hers, dropping his crate to the ground. "But it didn't." he says plainly, shrugging his shoulders. He's unable to keep his smirk from growing at her concern. "And you didn't 'ruin my return'." he continues. "Seriously, Linda. I'm fine. I'm home. Nobody got hurt-..." he pauses, reaching down with his other hand and rubbing at the stab wound on his
side, "...Well, nobody got too hurt. Don't let this rile you up." He gives her hand a squeeze, continuing to stare up at the moon, "So-..." he begins, hoping to change the topic and move her attention away from the encounter with Jessica, "...What did I miss while I was gone?"
Vasquez shrugs Jason off and then bends down to pick up his armor crate with a grunt, hoping to get inside. At the question she shrugs while starting to walk towards the door. "Not much..." she says, well aware he knows about the trip to Elysium. (Vasquez)
Jason sighs and follows alongside her towards the door. "How about your-... you know-.... trip?" he asks tentatively as he taps the interface to open the door. "....Find what you were looking for...?" he continues, unsure of how to approach the subject.
Vasquez steps inside, not responding right away. She opens the door to Jason's office and stashes the armor crate inside before continuing down the corridor. "I... I don't know." (Vasquez)
Jason follows right behind, bag over one shoulder. He doesn't press the issue right away, biting down on his lower lip as they near the top of the steps and he contemplates how to continue without pushing her. "Are you glad you went....?" he finally asks, "Uhh-.. did-.... do you feel like you made the right decision...?" he quickly adds. "I mean-... the trip." he clarifies.
Vasquez nods faintly, starting down the corridor when they reach the second floor. "Sure." she says plainly. She stops by the door to the rec room, opening it and taking a peek inside. Cynthia is sprawled out on the couch, snoring. A small smirk tugs briefly at Vasquez' lips as she allows the door to close again and continues on towards their room. (Vasquez)
Jason waits awkwardly for her to finish checking in on the rec room, unsure of what she's looking for but naturally assuming her friend is probably taking residence in there for now. He moves on towards their room and opens the door when Vasquez joins him. "That's good..." he says, giving his bag a quick little spin before letting it loose. It sails through the air and lands on the
couch, causing Jason to raise his arms in victory. He rotates in place until he's facing Vasquez and backs into the room. "I am the greatest!" he brags, seemingly distracted from his line of questioning for the moment by his successful throw. It doesn't take long for his easily-distracted mind to return to the subject, though. "Sooo-...." he begins with a shrug, "What'd you do out
there?" he pries, wincing slightly at the direct nature of his own question. He puts a hand up and shakes his head, "I'm sorry, that's none of my business... I just-... If you don't want to talk about it, I understand." he sighs, "...But, you know... If you want to...? I'm always up for a good talk..."
Vasquez ' frown is broken up again by Jason's enthusiasm at his successful bag-toss, a faint smirk appearing. When he returns to the subject of her trip it fades away. Her gaze falls to the floor as she walks further into the room, eventually sitting down on the edge of the bed, hands in her lap as she keeps her gaze low. She seems to consider blowing the question off, but instead lets out a heavy sigh. "I, uh... I visited Illyria. (Vasquez)
Jason takes a position leaning up against the backrest of the couch, facing her. He folds his arms across his chest and nods a few times, surprised that she didn't just blow it off. He remains quiet for a few moments after she finishes. "I'm sure that wasn't easy. Going back..." he finally says.
Vasquez gives a brief, unamused chuckle. "No, it... it wasn't. I-... she died there, yeah?" She makes an awkward gesture with her hands, still looking at the floor. "In the park." She taps a finger against the side of her skull. "Shot in the head." she says, the uncomfortable tone gone from her voice, now drained of all emotion. As she lowers her hand back to her lap it starts twitching, as if grasping for a trigger that isn't (Vasquez)
Jason nods silently as she finishes speaking, his gaze lowering to the floor as well. Unsure of how to even respond to that, he steps away from the couch and joins her at the edge of the bed. "I know-..." he begins, but trails off with a shrug. He places a hand on her leg and gives it a pat, his eyes following his hand. "You don't forget something like that. Losing someone that
important." He sighs, getting frustrated at his own inability to express himself in a way even resembling eloquence. "But you just-... you know... keep on keeping on, right?" He forces a smile as his gaze moves up to her face. "They stay a part of you and-... and you just do your best to remember them and do right by them and-... And be happy. Because that's what they would have wanted..."
Vasquez flinches as she feels Jason's hand on her leg, but her index finger stops twitching. She moves her hand over to Jason's, intertwining it with his metal fingers as her eyes rise to the wall ahead of them. "Yeah..." she says quietly, although she doesn't sound particularly convincing. She turns to her side, facing Jason, and meets his gaze. She remains quiet for a while as she struggles with how to word her thoughts. "I-... (Vasquez)
you're my future, Jason. And I don't want my past getting in the way of that. Jan was-... I loved her. But it was a long time ago..." She looks away as tears start to form, deciding to stare at an arbitrary point in the wall behind him. "I have to move on. I want to. Someone who's... less of a mess probably would've a long time ago. I... went to say goodbye, okay?" Her gaze darts back to Jason, and in her eyes it's easy to (Vasquez)
see just how uncomfortable she is talking about this. "I went to say goodbye." She squeezes his cybernetic hand. "Because I'm moving on. Because you're my future..." The last part is hesitant, almost like a question, as if she's expecting him to run away at any moment. (Vasquez)
Jason lifts her hand, bringing it to his lips as he places a kiss against the back of it. "You don't have to explain yourself." he says, studying her hand as if it's the most interesting thing in the world to avoid eye contact. "You did what you needed to do. But that future of ours? You and me? It's gonna be long, and happy and I just want you to know that I'm right here. No matter
what you need. I know-..." he shrugs, "...I'm not the best when it comes to-... you know.... Talking about feelings and shit." he says, glancing over at her out of the corner of his eye, "...But you don't have to go through any of this on your own. I know what you're going through. We've been through some shit these past few years, Linda... And we've both lost so much, I just-..." He
trails off and finally manages to look up at her, "I don't want you to feel guilty about us. I don't want to feel guilty about us. And I'm not going to. No matter what led us to where we are? This-..." he gives her hand another squeeze and lifts it up higher, between the two of them, "...is real. I might not be happy with how I got here, but here is exactly where I want to be.
Unapologetically. You mean everything to me, Linda, and I-..." he stammers and lets out a sigh at losing his pace, "...I'm an idiot. And a fuck up. But I'm going to do everything I can to make sure you're happy. That we're happy. Okay?"
Vasquez listens in silence to Jason, her gaze not wavering for a moment from his face. A tiny, fragile smile grows across her lips as he goes on, and as she blinks the building tears can no longer be held back, slowly rolling down her cheeks. As he reaches the end of his little speech she lets out a quiet sniffle and wipes her tears away with a small shake of her head. "You're anything but a fuck up, Jason. You... you've saved me (Vasquez)
more times than I care to count. Usually from myself. I know I'm... I'm a fucking mess. We both know that. But you're the most important thing in the galaxy to me, and I love you... so much..." Her smile wavers slightly and she squeezes his hand again. "...even if I don't always show it. And I'm going to do my best. I'm sick of being miserable, of making you miserable, of letting the universe fuck us over." Her gaze finally (Vasquez)
breaks away from Jason, going down to her hand, and the ring on her finger. "All I want is to be with you, to keep building our life here. And I'm going to give it everything I've got. I promise." (Vasquez)
Jason scoots closer, shoulder-to-shoulder with Vasquez and releases his grip on her hand before wrapping his arm around her waist and pressing a kiss against the side of her head. "You couldn't make me miserable if you tried." he teases, his smirk returning to his lips. "Really, Linda. I know a lot of complications have come with our lives, but you make me happier than I've ever been.
I'm lucky to get to spend the rest of my life with you." he says, a sudden enthusiasm in his voice. He gives her waist a squeeze as he looks her over. "So?" he asks, his smirk tilting to one side, "When are we getting this show on the road? We gotta stamp that calender and make this shit official!"
Vasquez first leans slightly against Jason as he scoots closer, letting her now freed hand rest on his leg, gently running her thumb back and forth. When he finishes speaking she turns her head towards him again, her smile growing as she hears his enthusiasm. "I guess we do have some things to figure out, huh?" she says with a brief chuckle. "The sooner the better if you ask me." She pauses, her smile giving way to a small frown as (Vasquez)
her gaze goes down at her hand. "We haven't really talked about the details... the cermony and all that." (Vasquez)
Jason gives a slight shrug. "No... I guess we haven't..." he agrees. "Can't be too hard to plan a wedding, though, right?" he says with a big dumb grin, "You-... uhh.... have any ideas?"
Vasquez moves out of Jason's grasp, climbing back a bit into the bed and crossing her legs as her gaze returns to him. She still has a faint, thoughtful frown, but she looks happy to actually be talking about something positive for once. "Hmh... I... uh... I guess not. I've been so focused on what comes after, I haven't really given much thought to the wedding itself." she says, a small,
Jason lifts one leg up onto the bed so he can turn to face her. "Wait, wait, wait... Are we gonna-..." he gasps theatrically, "Are you gonna wear a dress!? Like a wedding dress!? Is that a thing you're able to do!? Or will it, like-... like-... you know, burst into flames and turn to ash?" he teases, his shoulders rising and falling as he begins to chuckle.
Vasquez scowls at Jason, giving his shoulder a shove, smile turning into a grin. She seems about to tell him off when she realizes she actually has no idea what she's going to wear. She looks genuinely dumbfounded for a moment before blurting. "I-... that's none of your-... shut up!"
Jason rocks backwards slightly from the shove as his laughter begins to die down. "So there's a starting point for us, right? What are we gonna wear? Where are we gonna have it?" He gives a glance around with a shrug, "I mean, personally I think we should just have it here, right? We've got all this space. Could spruce up the hangar a bit. Decorate." he shrugs again, "Could be fun."
Vasquez furrows her eyebrows as she looks towards the door. "Here?" she says, considering the prospect. "Not exactly what imagined when I was a younger..." she says with a chuckle, admitting more than she perhaps realizes. "...but it makes sense. This place is our future, right? This is what it's all about. Us, and what we're building here." She nods, smile returning. "Sounds like a
Jason nods a couple of times. "I mean, I'm open to suggestions..." he says, worried that it may not be good enough for her, "...Was just a thought. What about dates? Anything specific? I think I'm free around noon tomorrow, might be able to pencil it in." he jokes with a big lopsided grin before shrugging to himself. "I don't want to rush or anything, but, like you said... The sooner
Vasquez leans forward a bit, resting her arms against her legs as she ponders the question. "Guess that depends on... well, guests. We haven't really talked about that either."
Jason leans over and lays on his side, scooting up beside Vasquez. He props his head up with his hand, leaning his elbow against the bed. "Well, shit. I figure we invite everyone." he says with a big grin. "Everyone. One big fucking party. Music. Dancing. Food."
Vasquez raises an eyebrow as she looks down at Jason. "Everyone...? I... have no idea what that means."
Jason shrugs. "You know. Everyone." he repeats, as if that should clear it all up. "All of the people we know around town. Get your brother out here. Any friends you might have tucked away. Everyone. Speaking of friends you've got tucked away... If-... Cynthia...?" he says tentatively, trying to recall the name, "Was that it? If Cynthia is gonna be sticking around until the
wedding, that kinda means we have to get this thing going soon, right? We can't just hold her hostage here forever." he says with a chuckle.
Vasquez shakes her head with a small grin. "We'll be lucky if we manage to get rid of her at all. She's already claimed the couch as her own." she says, although it's clear from her tone that she's actually quite glad to have her friend in town. "Aside from her and, uh... Markus, there aren't really a lot of people I have to invite." Her mood takes a hit as she continues, and she looks
down at the bedsheets. "I kind of cut ties with... everyone... after I was discharged from the Alliance. I was mostly on my own until..." she shrugs lightly, preferring not to even mention the Evening Star by name. "I have a lot of acquaintances in the company. No friends though, not really." She nudges him with her foot (having, of course, stepped out of her boots before crawling into
the bed!) and tries to force her smile back. "I think filling out the guest list will be on you, mostly."
Jason gives a shrug, not wanting to dampen her mood by commenting further on it. "Not a problem. You just invite whoever you can and leave the rest to me." he grins, rolling onto his back and putting his hands behind his head (Of course, still wearing his boots!) "So I guess it kind of depends on how quickly you can convince Markus to get out here, huh?" he muses aloud, "Maybe give
him a call tomorrow and see what his schedule looks like? We can plan the rest around that. Sound like a plan?"
Vasquez shifts a bit, uncrossing her legs and moving so that they are on her left side as she faces Jason, looking down at him. "Sure... but what about your family?"
Jason looks up at Vasquez from his back, nodding to her. "Oh, yeah. I told my uncle about it as soon as I tricked you into agreeing to marry me." he jokes, his lopsided grin widening. "He actually sounded excited for me. But, you know, it's hard to tell with him. May have just been a case of indigestion. He'll be there, for sure. Got a few other people that are just waiting on a
Vasquez lies down next to Jason, propped up with an elbow much like he was not long ago. Her smile grows genuine once more as her gaze wanders across his face and then over his body. "I can't believe this is actually happening." she admits with a chuckle, sounding almost nervous. "It's going to-..." she frowns as she notices his dirty boots in the bed. "Wha-... take those off!" she says,
Jason snaps up, flinching at the punch. "Sorry! Sorry!" he pleads, struggling for a moment to kick the boots off, lazily using the bottom of one boot to stomp the other off. After a few failed attempts, they finally clunk to the ground as he kicks them away and he settles onto his back once more, grin ever-present. "Can't believe what's happening? That you're marrying someone this
charming, and attractive, and funny, and intelligent and-... uhhh-" he frowns as he searches for more ways to pat himself on the back, ".... -attractive!"
Vasquez glances down to confirm the removal of Jason's boots before scooting closer, placing her left hand on his chest and rolling over to lie on her belly by his side, still holding her upper body up with her right lower arm, which is pressed against the bed. She leans slightly over Jason and nods, causing her bangs and increasingly long ponytail to fall into her face. She mirrors his
grin as she looks down at him. "Yes. You are. And I can't believe how lucky I am that you're here, with me, after everything we've been through..."
Jason 's grin widens. "Don't stop there." he jokes, "My ego can use all the stroking it can get." He reaches up, wiping the hair from her face and resting his hand on her cheek as his eyes scan over her face. "There's nowhere else I'd rather be." he says, his thumb gently caressing back and forth.
Vasquez lets out a quiet humm and moves her head back and forth, effectively snuggling up against Jason's hand. "Me neither..." she agrees, the fingers of her left hand arcing against his chest as she leans down to plant a soft kiss on his lips, her hair ending up all over his face.
Jason closes his eyes, his fingers sliding up into Vasquez' hair as he returns the kiss. He brings his other arm around and rests his hand over her left hand, silently relieved that she no longer seems to be spooked by his new limbs. "It's good to be home." he says, smile spread across his face as he stares up at her.
Vasquez hovers her face just a few inches from Jason's, staring into his eyes with a big smile. "Yes. Yes it is." she says, giving him another quick kiss before sitting up again, her hands withdrawing as she unzips her jacket, which is starting to get rather uncomfortable.
Jason returns his hands to his sides, propping himself up slightly with his elbows. "You missed out on some beautiful sights, though." he says, not bothering to clarify, "I'll show you some of the pictures we took tomorro-... later today. Nothing but ice for as far as I could see. It was something else." He nods a couple times, "Cold as fuck, though."
Vasquez listens in silence, taking off her jacket and letting it drop to the floor. She chuckles at the last comment and then removes her hairband, shaking her hair free with a hand. "Tell me about it." she requests before crawling further up the bed and lying down, head on her pillow and gaze on the ceiling.
Jason scoots up in the bed, taking a position beside Vasquez as he settles against his pillow, returning his hands to behind his head as he joins her in ceiling-gazing. "Well, for starters the entire place was a giant ball of ice on the surface. We didn't come across anything living up there aside from the vorcha-..." he glances over at her and shakes his head, "Long story..." he
explains, not wanting to get off-topic. "Jasper, Ten and a couple of the researchers went under the ice, though. All sorts of shit living down there. It was pretty exhausting. The sun didn't set and we were all pulling long shifts." he sighs, "Was hard to tell when one day ended and the next began... But yeah, it was beautiful."
Vasquez rolls over to her stomach, placing her arms under her pillow and resting her head against it as she looks to Jason, listening. "Hmmh... sounds like I missed quite the trip. On the other hand, it sounds like things got pretty nasty with those vorcha. I'm glad everyone made it back okay."
Jason rolls onto his side to face Vasquez, giving a couple of silent nods. "We ended up stranded out in the middle of a blizzard. Fucking vorcha wrecked our ride." Despite the story, his smirk remains and he gives her a shrug. "Was strange. Even though we were lost out in the middle of nowhere with no way home, I just knew it would be alright..." he says, "...I knew I was going to get
back here one way or another. I had to. Even if it meant I was going to have to force Jasper to build a ship to fly us home out of bubblegum wrappers and an omni-tool." he chuckles, "No matter what it took, I was coming back to you."
Vasquez gains a small smile as she nods. "You know I'd have flown out there if you didn't, right? What's the point of keeping a pirate ship on retainer if I can't use it to conduct a daring rescue, right?" she says as her smile turns into a grin and she frees her left hand, bringing it to Jason's right upper arm, running slowly up and down it.
Vasquez 's grin widens as she scoots closer to Jason. She seems about to say something when her gaze falls on the hand she has on his arm. She continues to run it up and down the synthetic material, her grin fading away. "What is it like? What do you feel...?" she asks, meeting his gaze once again, the joy in her eyes nowhere to be seen.
Jason lets out a sigh as Vasquez' attention shifts to his arms once again, but he forces a smile. "I don't know..." he says, his own gaze moving to the arm her hand is on. "It's-... hard to explain. I mean, I feel that." he says, looking between her eyes and her hand, "But-... I don't feel it, you know? The pressure is there. Like when you sit on your leg for too long and it goes
numb, right? But-... But the sensation is gone." He shrugs slightly, searching her eyes once more. "Sometimes when I'm not paying attention, I swear I can feel it. Just like it used to be. But then it just.... stops. Phantom something-or-other they call it..." He grabs his hand as he holds eye contact, moving her hand up to his shoulder as his smile grows more genuine. "But I can still
feel that just fine." he says, trying to lighten her mood. He drags her hand over to his neck, "And that-..." and then up to his cheek before kissing her palm, "...and that." He lets out a soft chuckle, "It's not bad. Just-... different."
Vasquez frowns as she listens to Jason's description, a look of guilt starting to appear as he goes on, but as he kisses her palm she allows herself the distraction, sliding her hand across his cheek and back across the neck to the shoulder before pushing him down gently and pressing against him, leaning in for another kiss.
Jason meets her part way, pressing his lips against hers as he slides his arm around her waist to hold her close, the body contact greatly appreciated given the numbness in his arms and hands. "Maybe I can get my ring built-in to this sucker." he says enthusiastically, prodding her side playfully with his ring finger. "How awesome would that be?" he asks.
Vasquez 's expression seems split between guilt and amusement as she's poked, but a quiet chuckle does escape her. "Not a bad idea. If it's attached to you it might be more than a week before you lose it at least..." she says, a small grin forming as she intertwines her left leg with Jason's, moving a bit further on top of him. Her left hand is still on his neck, caressing it gently as
she looks down at him. Her now-freed hair has grown longer still since her return, and as she leans down closer it envelops both of their faces.
Jason slides his other arm around Vasquez as he looks up at her, his head resting back against his pillow. He interlocks his fingers as his hands come to a rest on her lower back. "Exactly!" he says through a grin, "I'll have the doc look into it."
Vasquez nods slightly, causing her hair to brush over Jason's face. "Mhm... sounds like a plan..." she says before leaning in for another kiss, an unusually content look on her face as she presses her lips against his, simultaneuously shifting more of her weight onto him as she stops using her right arm to support herself, instead putting it on Jason's neck, while the left starts sliding
Jason unlocks his fingers and his left hand begins to slowly crawl up Vasquez' back. His right slides across to her hip, coming to a rest. "Uh huh..." he agrees, his attention very quickly and very obviously being pulled away from talk of arms and rings, sounding as if he has already forgotten what he's even agreeing with. He lets out a deep breath as her hand makes its way down his
Vasquez doesn't bother to say anything else, eagerly returning the kiss and pressing against Jason as her left hand slides down his side and starts to slip in underneath his t-shirt, starting to work its way back up slowly, fingertips trailing softly across his skin.
Jason 's left hand continues up Vasquez' back until it reaches the top and hooks around the back of her neck, pulling her in as he continues to kiss her passionately. His right hand grips her waist, giving it a light squeeze before returning to her back, his fingertips trailing up under the back of her shirt.
Vasquez reluctantly breaks the kiss, her right arm pulling away so that she can prop herself up on it again. She looks down at Jason with a big smile, although most of her face is covered in hair. She slides her left hand back down and starts to tug his t-shirt upward.
Jason lifts his upper back up from the mattress, quickly pulling his arms back to help her with the shirt. He slides his right arm out of the shirt, and then his left. As Vasquez begins to pull his shirt over his head, it gets snagged on the anchor point for his left arm. He reaches across his chest with his right hand and tugs the fabric free, giving her a soft, somewhat self-conscious
chuckle and swallows hard. He studies her face as he discards the shirt off to the side, hoping that having her attention once again pulled back to his arms didn't ruin her mood.
Vasquez 's smile inevitably fades as her gaze falls upon the borders between Jason's synthetic limbs and his torso. A brief look of guilt crosses her face, but most of all she just looks saddened. Rather than withdrawing she leans in closer to him again, her left hand returning to his chest and running up to the spot at his right shoulder where skin starts to give way to metal and polymer.
Her fingers trace along the border and her eyes follow. She slowly leans down and presses her lips softly against the skin of his chest bordering the cybernetic, eyes closing.
Jason watches Vasquez silently as she scans across the line separating flesh from metal, biting his lower lip as he waits to either be shunned or approved of. His own gaze moves down to the clear dividing point, making no attempt at hiding himself from her despite feeling incredibly self conscious. As she leans in to kiss his chest, he lets out a breath he was holding and settles back
against the bed, bringing a hand up to the back of her head and gently stroking his fingers through her hair.
Vasquez starts kissing her way up Jason's chest, her fingers still tracing along the edge of the cybernetic arm. When she reaches his neck she continues to press her lips against him repeatedly, and once again shifts her weight onto him. "I love you, Jason... I'm never hurting you again... I promise..." she whispers, unable to conceal the guilt in her voice.
Jason turns his head to the side, pressing his lips against the top of her head. His arms wrap around her once again, enveloping her in a hug. "It wasn't your fault." he says softly, his right hand sliding up and down her back.
Vasquez presses her cheek against Jason's neck, a lone tear escaping her eye. She just rests silently in his embrace for a while before lifting her head until her face is above his, a faint, slightly sad smile on her lips. She leans down to kiss him again, hand sliding up to his shoulder.
Jason stares up at her, a lopsided smile on his face as well, but far from sad. His gaze travels back and forth between her eyes until she leans in to kiss him. His eyes shut and his right hand climbs back up to the side of her neck, thumb gently stroking back and forth across her cheek as he returns the kiss. His other hand remains around her waist, pulling her body tightly against
Vasquez shifts her body a bit, grinding against Jason as she starts to turn the kiss more passionate. Her left hand slides across the cybernetic arm and down Jason's side while her right moves up to his head, running her fingers through the short hair on top of his head.
Jason 's hand works its way back down from her neck as she begins to grind against his body. As his hands meet back down at her waist, they slide up under her tanktop, tugging it upwards. He breaks the kiss, pressing his forehead up against hers as he sucks in a deep breath, but it's not long before his lips press against hers once again.
Vasquez rolls over with a yawn, eyes slowly opening and blinking as she looks to her side, hoping to find Jason there. It's past 11 AM, and the sun is shining outside, but it's still cold enough that the night's frost remains. Fergus tried to wake the two of them several hours ago, only to be verbally assaulted by Vasquez before their return to sleep.

Cynthia is sitting in the couch in the rec room, her feet on the table and eating from a box of sugary cereal as she watches she watches a look back on the history of the Biotic Kickboxing League currently playing on the TV. (Vasquez)
Jason is wide awake. Content to just lay beside Vasquez with his hands behind his head, he glances to his side as she begins to stir. "Morning." he offers with a lopsided smirk, "You sleep alright?"
Mendez is seated in the shared office, typing out a report at his desk with a look of utter boredom on his face. (Jason_Wolfe)
Nathan walks into the building, a thermos of steaming hot coffee in his free hand. He clunks though the lobby, slurping at the coffee. He's dressed in a simple white t-shirt with a brown leather jacket over the top, a pair of jeans and a par of nondescript trainers. He wanders towards the infirmary. He raps his knuckles on the door, an awkward motion considering
Renala is, as usual, in her office. She is taking apart some now unrecognizable piece of small electronics, putting them on a plate that has a holographic interface to label sections of it. She also seems to be paying attention to slowly scrolling text on her terminal. The asari is dressed in a simple blue top, and simple gray pants. Both her leather jacket and a white fleeze jacket is hanging on the chair's backrest. (Ilyna_T`Re
Vasquez shuffles closer, wrapping her arm around Jason and leaning against him, only half-awake, but smiling regardless. "Mmmm..."
Halisi glances at the door as she hears the knocking, rolling her eyes. "Always with the knocking... the buttons are there for a reason you know! Come in!" she says with a small smirk, swiveling her chair around to face the door and putting the datapad down on her desk. (Vasquez)
Nathan opens the door and smirks, shrugging. "Heya, doc," he greets cheerfully, stepping into the infirmary. "How you doing?"
Jason stretches an arm out to his side, wrapping it around Vasquez in turn. He leans over, pressing a kiss against her forehead. "I don't know about you, but I could go apocalyptic on a box of doughnuts right now..." he says, "...You hungry?"
Halisi gestures for Nathan to have a seat on the examination bed, taking a sip of her coffee. "Me? I've been fine. Things have been pretty hectic at the hospital. Apparently the quarians managed to negotiate for medical assistance, and they're crowding the place now. We've had to set up in the old clinic to keep them from flooding into the main building. It's a bit chaotic, and meds keep goi-..." She stops herself with a chuckle and (Vasquez
a small shake of her head. "Sorry. I think how you're doing is more important right now." she says with a smile, setting her cup down. (Vasquez)
Vasquez nods slightly. "Mmmh... that does sound like a good idea." she says, trying to blink away her sleepiness. She rolls onto her back and raises her arms above her head, letting out another yawn as she stretches. "Ugh... I need a shower first." she says while rubbing the gunk out of her eyes.
Nathan takes the indicated seat, taking a quick sip of coffee before setting it to the side. "That does sound nuts," he agrees before chuckling softly. "Pfft, it's just a broken arm, hardly anything to be overly concerned about," he assures her with a small smile. "My head feels fine after the hit it took and the stab wound is... itchy, more than anything, but
Jason raises an eyebrow as he watches her. "Is that an invitation?" he asks, reaching over to poke her in the side, "Sounds like an invitation to me."
Halisi raises an eyebrow. "Uh-huh..." she says skeptically, grabbing her omni-tool from the desk and standing up. "Regardless, I'd like to examine you and make sure. Lie down, please." (Vasquez)
Nathan puffs his cheeks out before exhaling. "Alright," he says as he lies down, squirming for a moment to get his cast into a comfortable position.
Vasquez sits up, letting her hands drop back to her sides before turning her head towards Jason, a small smirk at the corner of her mouth as she looks him over. "Hmmh... you know, I think it is." She scoots over to the edge of the bed, climbing out of it and walking over towards the bathroom, still naked. A moment after she disappears through the door Fergus' hologram materializes in
Fergus bows respectfully to Jason, a hand on the hilt of his sword. "Apologies for the intrusion, my lord. Your guest asked me to relay a message once you awoke." (Vasquez)
Halisi taps the red interface of her omni-tool as she looks over Nathan. "Hmh, at least you know how to follow instructions." she muses to herself. She starts scanning his arm, moving the device in her hand slowly back and forth over the cast. (Vasquez)
Jason returns the smirk and climbs out of bed on the other side. He stands up straight and reaches waaaay out to his sides, leaning backwards to stretch out his back before starting towards the bathroom in pursuit of Vasquez. He winces as he hears Fergus' voice behind him and rotates in place to face the hologram. "Fergu-..." he begins, before suddenly realizing his state. His eyes
widen and his hands shoot downward to cover himself up. "Make it quick, Fergus!" he instructs, "Not the best of times!"
Halisi sighs as she continues the scan. "Yeah, that's a broken arm alright. Did the ship doctor tell you the recovery time estimate?" (Vasquez)
Nathan gives Halisi a 'no shit' look before nodding. "Two or three weeks before it's out of the cast, another month or so before it's fully healed," he says with an irritable sigh. "Nearly two months out of action...".
Fergus seems unfazed, and produces a scroll from thin air, unrolling it and 'reading'. "She wishes to know if you are awake yet, and says that she knows you are in there, for she heard you last night. She also mentions that she is hungry, and wondering when she will get to meet you, Ser Wolfe." (Vasquez)
Halisi winces slightly and shakes her head. "Three to four weeks actually, I'm afraid. Although a little less now, I suppose. Once the cast comes off you should be able to work in a limited capacity, if you are careful, and you will need to retune your weapon's kinetic coils to low-power. But... until then you need to take it easy, rest, and not work, understand?" (Vasquez)
Nathan groans and his head thumps against the back of the table. "Brilliant... what about my work in the armoury? Maintenance and such? Is that alright?" He asks as he turns his head to look at Halisi again.
Jason frowns, casting a glance back towards the bathroom with a sigh. "I'm gonna have to take a raincheck on that shower, Linda." he calls out, disappointment in his voice, "Sounds like your friend is waiting for us. I'm gonna go and see about those doughnuts and introduce myself, alright?" He begins sidestepping towards his discarded clothes, eyes returning to Fergus, "Alright, alright.
Message delivered. Now-.... can ya just..... I don't know, at least turn around or something so I can cover up? You waiting on a free show?"
Halisi rolls her eyes and nods as she allows her omni-tool interface to fade. "Yes, if you feel you can manage that with one arm. No using your broken arm to lift or nudge anything..." she says as if this is something she's had to clarify many times before. (Vasquez)
Fergus struggles to process the request. "I am always monitoring the vast majority of the building, sire. The orientation of my avatar has no bearing on my field of vision." he states plainly. (Vasquez)
Nathan nods and props himself up. "You know best," he says. There is no hint of sarcasm, instead resigning himself to her orders.
Halisi seems pleased that Nathan is actually paying attention, nodding in return. "Yes I do." she agrees with a small smirk. "I'd like to see the stab wound too." she says, looking towards his shoulder. (Vasquez)
Jason narrows his eyes on Fergus. "Is that a threat?" he asks defensively, "Well, let me tell you! I-... My field of vision-..... Uhh-..... I see stuff, too!" he finally settles on, reaching for his shorts and tugging them on with one hand as he uses the other to continue covering himself as best as he can.
Nathan nods. "Alright, gimmie a sec," he says as he starts to awkwardly slip put his jacket. After a moment of struggling, he places it to the side before rolling up his T-shirt. A large burn mark is evident on his left side and a surgical mark is present over his heart. Due to the location of the wound, he mumbles under his breath and arches his arm to tug the
Halisi briefly glances at the scars at Nathan's side and heart, perhaps going over his medical records in her head. Her gaze moves to the splotch of medigel on his shoulder, and she reaches out to poke it lightly, nodding to herself. "Does that hurt?" she asks while typing something on her re-engaged omni-tool interface. (Vasquez)
Jason nods sternly in turn, seemingly accepting this response as a sign of victory. "Of course." he repeats, sitting at the edge of the bed as he tugs his pants back on. "Then, if that's all, Fergus..." he says, standing back up and buttoning the pants before lifting his shirt up and sniffing at it. He seems to decide on something and turns the shirt inside out before putting it back
Nathan 's medical records would have no details about the burn, though the surgical scar was performed as the result of a fatal wound. The documents would show that Nathan was clinically dead for 30 seconds before being successfully revived. He pouts at her poking of his armpit, squirming slightly. "Not really. As I said, itchy more than anything."
Jason laces up his boots and gives a satisfied nod towards the spot where Fergus previously was before starting off towards the rec room.
Halisi rolls her eyes. "No need to play tough, Tennhausen. It's supposed to hurt." she says before looking the wound over again. "I'm going to replace the medigel coating." she states, holding out her hand with the omni-tool in it over his shoulder. "You'll feel a tingling as the current coating is removed, but I'm sure you know that." (Vasquez)
Nathan tilts his head at her with a small grin. "In that case, it really fecking hurts," he says perhaps slightly dramatically. "Alright, work your stuff, doc," he says with a nod as he waits for a re-coating.
Halisi starts hovering her hand in a circle over the wound, ultrasound waves blasting out from her omni-tool to liquify the medigel coating. "So, how was the mission?" she asks, keeping her gaze on the projected interface. (Vasquez)
Jason approaches the rec room and taps the interface. He glances down at his arms with a frown, suddenly wishing he had put on a long-sleeved shirt. First impressions and all.
Nathan grimaces slightly. "Could've been better... could've been worse. We didn't lose anybody. So a broken arm a stab wound is just a small price to pay for an outcome like that," he says with a small smile as he looks up at the ceiling. "But hell... it was something else. Snow as far as the eye can see. And when we dived... wow," he murmurs.
Cynthia is still watching the same feature, which is currently showing a historic match between an asari and a turian. Her hand is deep in the cereal box, digging around for more. She looks over her shoulder as the door slides open, and gives a big wave even though her hand is still stuck in the box - fortunately she catches the bits of cereal that fall out with her other hand, which she for some reason did not use to (Vasquez)
Halisi nods along as he talks, the medigel on his shoulder starting to break up and run off onto the exam bed, his wound slowly being exposed. "Oh, right... you were part of the diving team. What was that like? Heard it got a bit crazy." (Vasquez)
Jason gives a big, lopsided grin at the cerealbox wave, returning it with a wave of his own. "Jason." he offers as he steps inside, his gaze moving over towards the screen, gaining a sudden interest. "Good match." he says with a nod towards the screen as he approaches the back of the couch. As he nears it, he reaches over the backrest, extending a hand towards the woman. "Nice to
finally meet one of Linda's friends." he says, leaving out the bit about not knowing she actually had any friends.
Nathan winces slightly as the wound is exposed to the air once again before nodding. "Yeah, that's an understatement. You ever been attacked by angry squid-eels? Bloody terrifying."
Li stalks through the offices silently, ready to pounce at any moment as she wanders between high desks and wheeled chairs, her gaze singularly focused on finding an unsuspecting target. After rounding a corner she slowly approaches Mendez from behind, tip-toeing quietly. (Vasquez)
Cynthia turns in her seat and first extends the cereal box towards Jason before reconsidering and offering her free hand to shake his. "Shit, I didn't realize it was you! Nice to finally meet ya!" she says with a grin. (Vasquez)
Mendez lets out a loud grunt as he continues to reformat his report of a drunk man trying to climb the fence at the dam the previous night. He seems unable to decide on whether 'drunk' or 'drunkard' would be better suited. (Jason_Wolfe)
Jason takes her hand and gives it a quick shake before retracting his own and resting it against the backrest. He leans forward over the back of the couch. "Yeah, you too." he responds, "So how are you liking Freedom Falls so far?"
Halisi stows her omni-tool away and then moves over to grab a towel from a nearby cabinet. "Squid-eel...? Uh... no, that'd be a first. Sounds... unpleasant. But at least everyone made it back alive. That's what matters." she says on her way back to him, gently padding the wound to soak up the liquified medigel. "Redrock hasn't always been so lucky..." she adds with a faint sigh. (Vasquez)
Li suddenly jumps out next to Mendez, arms raised and her hands bent into claw shapes. "Rawr!" she exclaims in her most fearsome tone, baring her teeth at him. (Vasquez)
Nathan looks to Halisi, an understanding look at her latter statement. "It's always a risk, yeah...". He nods gently. "But we raise a cup to them, treasure their memory and then we keep moving forwards," he says as he looks back at the ceiling. "Thankfully that wasn't the case this time...".
Mendez lets out a high-pitched squeak as he scrambles backwards in his seat, the wheels sliding across the floor. His hands flap out at his sides awkwardly and the chair shoots out from underneath him, causing his large form to crumble to the floor as he locks eyes on his attacker. He sucks in a deep breath and raises his gaze to the ceiling as he realizes it was just Li. "You little-..." he mutters, his face turning bright (Jason_Wolfe)
red in embarassment at his reaction. "You scared the crap out of me!" he exclaims, wincing at the pain that shoots through his backside, although his pride is hurt more. A soft chuckle escapes him as he rises to his knees and reorients his chair, "How did you get in here? Ilyna's leash break?" (Jason_Wolfe)
Ilyna is in her office, standing behind Ehanis who is holding up a deformed, inconsistent and flickering barrier dome that has lasted an impressive four seconds. Another second passes before it queitly dissipates again, followed by an expletive and Ilyna telling her to watch her language. That she's distracting her by speaking about the last job and Ehanis' role in future missions is not exactly helping.
Cynthia turns back towards the screen, watching the interview with a veteran asari fighter, from back when the league was first founded four centuries ago. "Kinda... underdeveloped." she says with a shrug. "I mean, I'm a colony kid, but out here in the Terminus is something different." (Vasquez)
Halisi grunts quietly. "Hmmh... yeah." She takes out a medigel canister and starts applying a fresh layer over his injury. "You know, you're lucky this didn't hit a little further in, could have paralyzed the whole arm." (Vasquez)
Jason gives a couple of nods, pushing away from the couch as he moves towards the kitchenette area, looking for any sign of doughnuts. "Yeah, it's a whole different beast out here. You get used to it, though. It's nice in its own way. Good people, too." He pulls a cabinet open, his doughnut senses on high-alert, "So you're from Illyria...?" he asks as he digs through the cabinet.
Nathan winces at the thought. "Well, I'm glad that didn't happen..." he mumbles as he keeps looking at the ceiling.
Li giggles loudly at Mendez' reaction, bringing her hands up to her face and jumping giddily. "I'm a dinnosaur!" she exclaims enthusiastically, once again forming claws with her hands. "I go where I want!" (Vasquez)
Mendez slides the chair back up against his desk and climbs to his feet. "Dinosaur." he corrects, furrowing his brow, "Ilyna teaching you about dinosaurs? What's that about, huh?" he asks, a genuine smile on his face for once. (Jason_Wolfe)
Cynthia nods. "Well... not originally. I was born on Earth, but we moved when I was a kid. First-wave colonists. What about you?" (Vasquez)
Halisi inspects the fresh medigel coating once she's finished applying it, making sure its sealed the wound well. "Yeah.... fixable, but not easy. You got lucky." She glances at him and adds "Relatively speaking." with an apologetic smile. (Vasquez)
Jason moves on to another cabinet, his eyes lighting up as he spots a box. "Earth." he says as he reaches for the box and sets it on the counter, "UNAS, more specifically. But I-... jackpot!" he exclaims as he opens the box, his grin widening as he looks over his boon of doughnuts. "Errr-... I've been all over the place. Omega. Illium. The Citadel. All over the Traverse. I get
Mendez rolls his eyes. "Yeah.... that explains it." he sighs. He reaches for a drawer at his desk and pulls it open. After digging a hand into the drawer, he gives a quick look around to make sure nobody else is nearby before he pulls an open package of cookies out of the drawer. He extends the open end towards Li. "I've got a lot of work to do, so how about we make a deal? You go and hunt down someone else, and in exchange? (Jason_Wolfe
Nathan nods and pulls on his shirt again after she has finished examining it. "I knew what I signed up for," he says with a dismissive shrug. "I'll grin and bear it."
Cynthia glances over at Jason as he discovers the donuts, in the middle of chewing a bunch of crunchy cereal. She frowns and shoots the box a look before putting it away on the table and extending a hand towards him. "UNAS huh? Me too, East Coast. Now gimme one of those." (Vasquez)
Li 's eyes go wide as she sees the box of cookies. She nods several times and digs a hand into it, grabbing as many cookies as she can with her small hand. "Deal!" (Vasquez)
Jason narrows his eyes on Cynthia at the mention of the East Coast. He grabs a doughnut and reluctantly hands it over to her. "Sounds like we're doomed to be mortal enemies." he says dramatically. "West Coast here. Callie." He grabs a doughnut of his own and shoves it into his mouth, taking a large bite from it. "So how long have you known Linda...?" he asks, talking with his mouth
Mendez nods sternly. "Then it sounds like we have a truce for now, little 'dinnosaur'." he says, suppressing a chuckle. He reaches into the package and grabs a cookie for himself as he sits back down in his seat and puts them back into the drawer. (Jason_Wolfe)
Halisi smirks faintly and nods while taking out her omni-tool again. When Nathan is done putting his shirt back on she moves up to start scanning his head, wanting to make sure the ship's doctor didn't overlook any damage from the concussion. "You were with another firm before, correct? What brought you out here to Aite?" (Vasquez)
Nathan sits still as she examines his head. "Five years ago I was, yeah. I came out here... well, because this is just where I ended up, I suppose. A new planet, new adventures and all that." He chuckles. "Spur of the moment, I suppose."
Cynthia chuckles and grabs the donut, taking a bite. "Mmh... ever since she joined the Elysium garrison." She takes a bigger bite, gaining a small frown. "Mmghn... course... mgh... kinda stopped hearing from her after she left..." she says with a shrug. (Vasquez)
Li smiles widely. "Thanks Mends!" she says before stuffing an entire cookie into her mouth and running off. (Vasquez)
Mendez shakes his head as he takes a bite of his own cookie, smile still on his face as he turns back towards the question of the hour. "Drunk, or drunkard....?" he mutters to himself, his frown taking over once again. (Jason_Wolfe)
Halisi finishes her scan, taking a step back. "Hm. Seems like a lot of people end up here like that... I wonder what it is about this place that draws people in." she says to herself as she sits down in her chair again, starting to type in the results of her examination. (Vasquez)
Jason gives a chuckle of his own, leaning up against the counter as he hovers over the box of doughnuts. "Well, you're free to stay here as long as you'd like. Sorry it isn't more comfortable. Suppose we overlooked the possibility of having guests staying long-term..." he says, an apologetic tilt of his head following, "...Any idea on how long you might be sticking around?"
Nathan shrugs as he stands up, awkwardly slipping his arm back into his jacket. "People go where they think the money is," he says. "Only a few exceptions to that." He pulls out a cigarette and slips it between his lips, but leaves it unlit. He grabs his thermos and shoves it in his jacket pocket. "Do I need to be on any meds, doc?"
Renala exits her office with a an empty white cup in hand, and she starts walking down the hallway towards the intersection. The door closes behind her three seconds later, and locks. (Ilyna_T`Rea)
Cynthia shrugs again and then spreads her arms out along the back of the couch. "Not really... my schedule's pretty open. Figure I'll stick around 'til the wedding if it's not too long 'til then. I'll get a room or something though. Nice as this couch is, think I'd prefer a bed." She seems about to say something else, but stops as her gaze falls on Jason's shirt. "Uh... your shirt's inside out." (Vasquez)
Halisi glances over her shoulder to say sometmhing, but frowns as she notices what he's doing, eyes following the cigarette as Nathan puts it in his mouth. "Nasty habit that. Just because it's not going to kill you doesn't mean it's any good. They were practically an epidemic back in the day, you know." (Vasquez)
Tarkus was in the locker room changing into something that was not his soft suit but something more casual.
Nathan looks to her and shrugs faintly. "It's a luxury. 'Sides, it's not like they do a fraction of what it did back in the days of old, hmm?" He smiles slightly to her. "If that's all, doc, I'm going to head outside and light this sucker up. Couldn't smoke once during the whole trip."
Jason nods along as she speaks, finishing his current doughnut and quickly reaching for another. As she mentions his shirt, he nods once more. "Yep." he says simply, "We've got some friends down at the Respite-... an inn in town. Might be able to get you a good price. We're still working on a date for the wedding, but the hope is soon. Just need to make sure her brother is free to
Halisi snorts, a disgusted look crossing her face. "You do that." she says, her tone remaining friendly. She slides her chair over to a nearby cabinet and takes out two small pill bottles, handing them to Nathan. "One of these every day." she shakes the left bottle. "And two of these every third." she shakes the other, and then hands both over. "Contact me if you have any issues." (Vasquez)
Nathan notes her look, a slight frown etching his features. What right did she have to judge his habits? However, he keeps his tone friendly as he takes the bottles, nodding to her. "Sure thing, doc," he says with a smile. "Thanks for the check up," he says as he already makes his exit. He palms the interface and makes to step out, unless stopped.
Li comes storming out of the offices with cookies in hand, running right into Nathan as he steps out of the infirmary, causing her to fall to the floor and drop her cookies. (Vasquez)
Nathan takes a step back in surprise and looks down as Li tumbles. He opens his mouth and the cigarette goes tumbling out, though he pays it no mind. "Li! Are you alright, kid?" He asks as he kneels down besides her.
Cynthia finishes off her donut while listening to Jason, and as he finishes up she raises an eyebrow. "Mnh... Markus? He's not happy, y'know. Chief hasn't kept in touch too much. Guess you probably know that." (Vasquez)
Renala turns around from her position at the intersection, and she approaches the other two. "You have to be careful with the hallways, kid," she says. "You never know when someone's going to pop out of the doorway. Especially with Tennhausen." (Ilyna_T`Rea)
Tarkus walks out of the locker room, once he is properly dressed that is. He than makes his way to the rec room, to organise the pile of armor and weapons he left next to his recliner.
Jason frowns, nodding slowly. "I assumed as much. He doesn't seem very happy in general. I think he hates me-...." he trails off, cocking his head to the side. "You know Markus?"
Li crawls into a ball and starts coughing due to the cookie that was stuffed into her mouth when she ran face-first into Nathan, but she doesn't cry. (Vasquez)
Nathan looks to Renala and offers her a weak smile, before he looks to Li again, the worry evident on his face. "Damndamndamn," he mutters as he reaches down to pat her back comfortingly. "I'm sorry, Li. You want me to get you some water?"
Cynthia nods slightly. "Yeah, I guess. We've met a couple of times. Kept in touch after she, uh... well, after things went to shit." she frowns, not particularly wanting to dwell on the unpleasant subject. "Where is she anyway?" (Vasquez)
Jason cocks a thumb towards the door before offering a wave to Tarkus. "She's taking a shower. Should be out here in a few minutes." He raises a half a doughnut in the air and gestures to Tarkus with it briefly before remembering he can't eat it and lowering it back down with a frown. "But-... uhh... yeah. I don't think Markus is too fond of me." he admits with a sigh. "Soooo that
Tarkus gives a wave to Jason, he stops next to his recliner and he begins to sort out the mess of this pile. Separating the armor from the weapons.
Nathan nods and stands up. "Look after her," he says to Renala as he dashes upstairs towards the rec room.
Halisi opens up the infirmary door as she notices the commotion outside. Upon noticing Li she kneels down as well. "Are you okay?" she asks, giving Renala a glance. (Vasquez)
Renala nods. "Make sure you don't bump into anyone on your way up," she says. "I've seen the security feeds. You have the grace of a dreadnought." She looks over to Halisi, then back to the kid as she pats her shoulder. "Hey, say something, anything," she says in a low voice. (Ilyna_T`Rea)
Nathan calls down the stairs. "That's fair!" He then opens up the door to the rec room and heads inside, careful not to bump into anyone this time.
Cynthia looks over towards Tarkus, having completely missed the turian's entrance. "Woah, when did you get here?" She glances back to Jason as she realizes what he said. "Eh, relax, it'll be fine." she says with a dismissive wave of her hand. (Vasquez)
Jason gives a shrug at Cynthia's comment, not looking too confident about it. As Nathan makes his entrance, he grabs a doughnut and tosses it towards him. "Breakfast of champions." he announces as it sails towards Nathan.
Nathan catches the doughnut and pockets it. He then makes for the cupboards and pulls out a glass, before hastily making for the sink and filling it with water. Awkward actions, given his one active arm.
Tarkus looks at Cynthia "Been here for a while. Just before the last job." He pauses for a moment "But I am surprised I did not make that much noise, on my way in here last night." He states.
