Va'ynna nods. "I... have heard a little about it," she says. "Tioran mentioned that she... wanted to sign up for it when I delievered food one day." She pauses for a moment. "It's... about a new solar system, right?" She does not let go of the hug.

Jason gives a few short nods. "Something like that..." he says, staring off a bit distantly as he's unable to keep himself from wondering what ExoGeni's real motivations might be. He quickly snaps back, putting up his usual smirk as he gives Va'ynna a light squeeze, "But I'll be back before you know it." he assures, "Shouldn't be too dangerous. Just guarding a bunch of nerds." he adds

with a quick chuckle.

Va'ynna frowns, still not letting go of him. "So... who can I... contact to check how the expedition is going?" she asks. "And is... Victoria also going on it?"

Jason considers her question for a few moments. "To be entirely honest, I'm not sure who all is coming. But I'll make sure and send a message your way when I know exactly so I can leave you with someone to check in with." His smirk grows as he jostles the asari slightly, "And no, don't worry, we're not going to be taking your lovemuffin away from you. She has a lot on her plate already

with getting the ship and its crew up and running."

Va'ynna blushes. "I.... Thank you, but... please don't call her that," she says. "I hope they'll be patient with me, because.... It's possible that I'd like to know every day if they've heard anything new."

Jason lets out another chuckle. "Well, I'll make sure and let whoever is running things back here know that you're very determined." he says, "I'm not sure how communication will be, though. So I can't guarantee how often we'll be able to report in."

Va'ynna hums thoughtfully. "If not, then I'll... take Victoria's ship and go look for you," she says, making it very clear she's joking.

Nathan exits the joint offices and decides to do his regular routine of weapon maintenance. He crosses the hall and moves toward the armoury.

Uvena enters the hangar and walks towards the car without saying anything to Jason or Va'ynna.

Jason raises an eyebrow at the asari. "Hmmm. Captain V and her merry band of pirates." he says, nodding a few times, "I like the sound of it, I'm just not sure how a peg leg would look on you. Although, if you're not careful around those darts, it sounds like we may get to see..." he teases.

Va'ynna sighs. "That's not funny," she mutters, although the smile on her face says something else. "The worst thing about it is... Victoria might agree to it."

Jason snorts loudly. "Might? No 'might' about it. That woman loves her ship. I've gotta be honest, I'm happy we were able to get it back. It'll be nice for Redrock to make a few extra credits, and hopefully her crew are serious about turning their lives around. I'd be lying if I said it didn't worry me a little, though." he admits.

Vasquez raises an eyebrow at the VI. "Wha-... huh."

Renala looks over at her terminal. "Everything looks to be order," she says, sounding relieved before looking at Vasquez. "This is how you ordered it, right?"

Va'ynna frowns. "I'll... keep an eye on her," she says. "If there... is something that seems wrong, I'll tell her to go to you."

Fergus stands at attention, waiting for approval.

Uvena picks up two more bags and starts walkig towards the exit.

Jason gives a couple nods. "Hopefully she's able to keep a handle on them." he sighs, "But thanks. Vicky could use some good people looking out for her." he adds with a smile.

Va'ynna nods. "Yeah," she says, "but if she's... captaining the ship, how... am I supposed to look after her?"

Vasquez scratches the back of her head. "Uh... I asked for something with a military theme to give a good first impression for clients. I didn't really-... it's a bit more... historical... than I had in mind." She looks at the hologram for a while before glancing at the door. "You know what, hold on." She makes a gesture for Renala to wait before poking her head out of the office and looking down to the hangar. "Jason! Can you

get over here for a sec?" she shouts.

Uvena walks down the hallway from the hangar carrying a duffel bag in each hand.

Renala raises an eyebrow. "It was you who picked the personality," she says. "I just installed it."

Nathan peers up from the workbench at the shouting. However, since his name isn't Jason, he resumes his maintenance on an avenger.

Jason furrows his brow. "I didn't expect her to actually be on the ship when it departs. I just assumed she'd overlook the operation. Kind of figured Austin would run things on the ship." he says. Realizing Va'ynna may not know who Austin is, he gives a shake of his head, "Her second-in-command." He glances back over his shoulder at the sound of Vasquez' voice briefly before looking

back at the asari attached to him, "Sounds like duty calls." he says with an apologetic tilt of his head as he gives her another squeeze, "Sorry. Was nice catching up with you though."

Va'ynna nods, but she is reluctant to let go. "That... is something I should... talk to her about, I guess," she says before loosening her grip. "I'm glad we could talk, Jason. Please be careful out there, okay?"

Jason gives another nod. "Always. And you be careful here. Keep an eye to the sky and watch out for those darts." he says with a smirk before giving her one final tight squeeze and releasing the hug. "I'll see you as soon as I'm back, V." he assures her as he starts towards Vasquez. He raises his arm, giving the asari a small wave before he disappears through the door and makes his

way to Renala's office. "You rang?" he says as he meets up with Vasquez.

Va'ynna sighs, but her smile doesn't fade. "I'll see you," she says before heading over to the car. She picks up the last three pieces of baggage, and starts making her way to the entrance.

Vasquez nods towards the VI mainframe room's open door, and the projection within. "I think I ordered the wrong VI personality. It's, uh... a knight, or something... you didn't replace my order did you?"

Renala is still sitting behind the desk, looking up at them. She remains quiet.

Fergus ' avatar looks at Jason and bows once more upon matching him to the employee database. "Ah, greetings, sire!"

Nathan hurms as he examines the avenger. "That can't be right," he mutters as he peers closer at the internals of the weapon. He frowns and pulls out his datapad, typing something into it. He huffs. "Thought so." He starts to make an exit, peering at the datapad as he walks into the hallway. And hopefully not into Va`ynna.

Jason frowns as Vasquez mentions the VI. But the moment she mentions a knight, his eyes go wide. "Oh shit, we got a knight!?" he says before swooping past Vasquez and bracing himself in the mainframe doorway to get a better look at Fergus. As the VI speaks to him, he glances back over his shoulder at Vasquez with a big dumb grin. "Greetings-... uhh... you!" he responds as he looks back

at the VI, "State your name!"

Va'ynna was in fact about to walk past the armory doorway when he exits, and hits his right leg with a quite heavy duffel bag.

Nathan winces and hops out the way. "Crap!" He belts out before he can stop himself. He cringes and holds up a hand to V. "Uh, sorry. My bad. I wasn't looking where I was going," he apologises. "Second bloody time I've done that now."

Fergus 's light blue hologram stands at attention again. "I am Fergus, Ser Wolfe! I stand ready to serve the Redrock Agency!"

Fergus makes these exclamations with suitable dramatic flair, and a moment latter his avatar flickers as his tabard changes to feature the Redrock Agency's logo.

Renala chuckles. "It certainly looks like Wolfe has been tampering with your order," she says. "I vote for keeping him, though."

Jason glances back at Vasquez again. "He knows my name!" he mouths to her. Then a look of concern washes over him. "He knows my name..." he mouths once more. He folds his arms across his chest and faces the VI once more, suddenly looking sceptical. "Okay, 'Fergus'. Tell me. You robot-folk are good with numbers." He begins, but glances over at Renala and gives a slow shake of his head,

denying any involvement with the order, before continuing on with the VI, "So. How about a little math equation. One-hundred and seventy-seven plus three-thousand seven-hundred and twenty-two, plus the percentage of the liklihood that you might go rampant and massacre all of us. GO!"

Va'ynna frowns and is about to drop the bag, but she realized that he wasn't going to fall. "Sorry," she says. "Are you okay?"

Vasquez covers her face with her palm, mumbling something under her breath.

Uvena is walking down the hallway from the reception.

Nathan smiles disarmingly and waves off her concern. "Yeah, yeah, I'm fine. You're lucky though. Heavy duffle bags are my one weakness," he says sagely, though by the grin on the corners of his mouth, it's clear he isn't being serious.

Fergus states matter-of-factly: "I'm afraid your request makes no sense, sire."

Jason furrows his brow. "Explain yourself." he says, suspicious of the program's response.

Va'ynna | "This is the... last trip," she says, "so there's no need to be afraid of more... dangerous duffel bags." She is playing along with his joke, looking quite amused as well.

Renala smirks, managing to stifle laughter at Jason's interaction with the VI.

Fergus: As a VI construct I lack the ability to go rampant, sire. No other types of catastrophic failure resulting in massacre has ever been reported with my model, or any other model made by RadiaTech. If you have any concerns I would be happy to put you in touch with my creators. I am here to serve, Ser Wolfe.

Jason narrows his eyes on Fergus and gives a long, drawn out stare. Finally he breaks away and looks down at Renala. "That true?" he asks, giving Fergus a quick side-eye.

Nathan looks to the ceiling and awkwardly claps his hands together due to the datapad currently being held. "Praise the Lord, I'm saved," he says dramatically before looking back to V with a smile. "Seriously though, do you need a hand with that?" He gestures to the duffle bag.

Renala nods, the grin still present. "Of course," she says. "Do you honestly think I would install something that would kill us all?"

Va'ynna giggles. "No, thank you," she says. "You... probably have work to do."

Vasquez is rubbing her temple with an exasperated look on her face.

Jason lets a breath out through his nose, visibly loosening up somewhat as he turns his gaze back to Fergus. "Alright, Fergus. I'm gonna go out on a limb here and choose to trust you. But I've got my eye on you, understand?" he says, raising a hand and pointing at the holographic figure. "Expecting big things out of you! Big things that don't result in the total meltdown of our building!"

he clarifies.

Uvena stops at the intersection, looking down the hall. "That's the last of them?" she asks, to which Va'ynna nods. "Our taxi should be here any minute now." She starts making her way back to the reception without awaiting further answer.

Nathan shrugs lightly. "I suppose I do, miss," he admits. "Well, take care. And, uh, don't tell anyone about my weakness, 'Kay? He winks once to her.

Va'ynna nods. "Okay," she says with a smile. Her left eyelids twitch, as if she was about to wink back but decided against it at the last millisecond. "I'll... keep it a closely guarded secret." She waits for him to get out of the way before continuing.

Vasquez raises an eyebrow. "You want to keep this one?" She says skeptically. "It's a knight."

Nathan nods and moves out the way, moving towards Renala's office. "Take care," he calls out before pausing inside Renala's doorframe. He blinks at the mention of a knight. "What's a knight?" He asks.

Va'ynna continues down the hallway, but stops once she's past T'Iavay's office, looking into it with curiosity written all over her expression.

Jason turns back to face Vasquez and steps out of the mainframe. "I know, right!" he says enthusiastically, but lowering his voice as if he doesn't want Fergus to hear him. His posture straigtens up as he seems to consider something for a moment. "Who do ya think knighted him?" he asks. "Think there's some kind of-..." a smirk tugs at his lips as he makes a pair of legs with his index

and middle finger and pantomimes someone walking, "...lil' king somewhere in there? Picks the bravest VI's? Whole-.... you know-..." he begins to trail off somewhat as Nathan appears, "....'sword on the shoulder' thing?" He goes quiet, leaving Vasquez to answer the man.

Vasquez stares at Jason with a deadpan look on her face, her mouth slightly open as if she wants to say something but can't quite find the right word. When Nathan interjects she glances at the door. "The, uh... new VI..." she says with a thumb to towards Fergus.

Nathan blinks. He blinks again. "The VI... Is a knight?" He asks slowly. "...aweeeeeessssommmmme!" He practically squees with delight. "What's he look like? Does he carry a longsword? No, wait, a halberd? What's he based on? Templars,Teutonic knights?" He asks rapidly, having a little nerdy freak out.

Jason leans forward and plants a kiss on Vasquez' forehead. "Doesn't matter. Either way, you did good. He can stay." He gives Nathan an excited nod, "He's really cool. Sword, armor, the whole deal! He's got our emblem for his crest! Kinda sucks at math, though. I don't think he understands it. Probably didn't have calculator programs when knights were around."

Renala sighs, but she refrains from interjecting.

Nathan gawps at Jason. "He's got the emblem on his tabard?! That's so freaking cooooool."

Va'ynna is still staring into the office, shifting a bit to try get a glimpse of the VI projection.

Fergus ' projection is still running, standing dutifully in wait for permission to start interacting with the rest of the base's systems.

Vasquez ' shoulders drop as she lets out a sigh not unlike Renala's. She takes a deep breath. "Oookay... I guess it stays." She turns to Renala. "Anything else you need from me, or are you good to let it start doing its thing?"

Jason waves Va'ynna in and points at the VI. "We got a knight, V." he says proudly. "Gotta admit. I expected it to be some Stoneface McGrumpypants model, Linda. I'm pleasantly surprised."

Nathan steps out the way so Va'ynna can enter. He's still giddily watching the VI.

Va'ynna drops the bags and walks into the office. She averts her gaze upon noticing Renala, however, and instead looks at the VI. "What is a... knight?" she asks with a tilted head before giving it a timid wave. "Um, hey... uh..." She lowers her voice as she looks at Jason. "What's his name?"

A mediaeval soldier, typically a noble. They were the elite of ancient Europe.

Nathan says enthusiastic-like.

Jason nods a few times. "They were the bravest of the brave!" he adds, "His name is Fergus."

Fergus raises an armored hand in greeting to Va'ynna. "Hail, guest of Redrock! I am Fergus. What is your name, madam?"

Va'ynna startles at the VI's gesture, and she is quiet for a few seconds to calm down. "I'm Va'ynna," she says. "It's... nice to meet you, Fergus."

Uvena sees the taxi set down outside, and starts walking towards the hallway intersection to find out why Va'ynna hasn't shown up yet.

Fergus lowers his hand and smiles. "It is my pleasure, Lady Va'ynna."

Va'ynna blushes at being addressed so formally, but there's a wide smile on her face. "i... I will see you again," she says before taking a step back and turning towards Jason. "I like it," she says.

Jason nods once. "I think I do, too." he admits with a big smile.

If you haven't guessed... There may be a possibility that I like it too.

Renala is too distracted with the other going-ons to address Vasquez' question immediately. She shakes her head. "No, nothing right now," she says. "I'll notify you if something goes wrong, though."

Vasquez nods, leaving the room not long after. Once in the corridor she makes a quick detour to check if Ilyna is in her office.

Uvena stops beside Jason's office once she spots Vasquez. "Hey," she calls out. "Could you unlock this office? I forgot my coat in there." The offices were all locked after the systems came online, even Ilyna's office, which is still locked.

Vasquez nods and heads over to Jason's office, entering her access code to unlock the door and then remaining by the door rather than heading back to Ilyna's office. "Go ahead."

Jason glances over at Nathan as he continues to stand around in Renala's office, "I'm not sure if you've been told yet, but we've got a pretty big security contract coming up. Going to need to take a team off-world for around two weeks. You've shown yourself to be capable, and I'd like to have you onboard. Springing a two-week trip on you probably isn't the best way of handling this,

so I understand if you're unable to. But if you're able, it pays well."

Va'ynna smiles. "I... should get going," she says before making her way out of the room.

Fergus turns his attention to Renala, still waiting to be allowed control of the base.

Nathan turns to Jason, blinking in surprise. "Wow, really?" He asks before grinning. "Sure, I can do it." He nods twice.

Thank you.

Uvena enters the room and goes to grab her jacket that was hanging over the chair. She puts it on before exiting the room, and walking over to pick up two of the deserted bags.

Jason gives Va'ynna a wave and says his goodbyes to her for the second time today before turning his attention back to Nathan. "Great. As soon as we have a set time for the briefing, I'll send it your way. Make sure you handle all your business before we head out, there's no telling how stable communication will be once we're out there."

Vasquez heads back to Ilyna's office once Uvena is out of Jason's, repeating the process of entering her access code.

I'm just waiting on a delivery, but that should be here tomorrow. But I got something for you, boss. Can you sign this requisition form? Some of the assault rifles could do with some fresh parts. It isn't urgent, but it may be worth investing it.

Renala taps on the terminal to open the PA speakers and camera feeds to the VI. The offices' video feeds (except for the large one) has no sound, and the showers are a complete blind spot for the VI's surevillance, but the map of the base imply that there are no other ways to leave them than through the locker room door.

Ilyna looks up at the door once it opens without warning. "Hello?" she asks. The asari is sitting behind her desk, with a verbose document of sorts being displayed on the terminal.

Jason cocks an eyebrow and puts his hand out. "How much is it going to run us?" he asks, "Is this for the stuff we hauled off the Siren's Call?"

Va'ynna exits the room without another word, and picks up the last bag. She follows her mother towards the lobby after being told the car is just outside.

Vasquez steps into the office with an apologetic look. "Sorry to interrupt, I thought I should tell you before I sent out the announcement to the rest of Redrock... we have a new mission, leaving tomorrow evening. I know it's short notice, can't be helped."

Ilyna raises an eyebrow. "I take it I'm also coming with you?" she asks. "What is it about?"

Nathan shakes his head as he hands it over. "Not much. It's only maintenance gear. Spare parts and such. Shouldn't even dent the bank," he says. "Yeah, mostly. One of the avengers needs some TLC, but it's mostly the hauled weapons."

Vasquez nods. "That's idea. It's, uh... the Syranis Foundation/ExoGeni Corp expedition. You've probably heard about it on the news. The Matriarch approached me about having Redrock provide security."

Ilyna frowns. "I would have expected a longer notice from a matriarch," she says, a hint of frustration in her voice. "One day may not be enough to find someone I trust to take care of Li."

Jason gives a couple nods as he looks over the datapad. "Everything seems to be in order..." he says with a shrug. "Yeah, shouldn't be a problem." he adds with another nod as he signs the document. "Appreciate you putting in so much effort. Nice to have someone else around willing to work the hours so I don't have to do everything as usual." he says with a smirk as he passes the datapad

back.

Renala chuckles at what Jason said, but gives no comment of her own. She keeps monitoring the systems the VI is being connected with.

Nathan tales the datapad back, giving an appreciative nod to Jason. "Thanks, boss," he says. "Keep this praise up and my ego will be to big for the room," he says with a light laugh.

Va'ynna glances down the hallway before leaving the office along with Uvena.

Vasquez lets out a slight sigh. "Yeah, I know... it's not ideal, but this contract is a big opportunity for Redrock, and I'd like to have you on it if possible."

Jason pats Nathan on the shoulder. "Just keep doing what you're doing, Ten." he says. "And Renala?" he calls, glancing over towards the mainframe room, "A good portion of the staff is going to be off-world for a big job soon. I've already told Briggs, but I figure you should know, too. You and him are assigned to handle this whole Uvena ordeal, alright? Remember what I said. I expect

some good results." he purposely avoids going into any details in front of Ten.

Nathan nods at the pat and turns to leave. He has no interest in lingering and he has no business knowing.

Ilyna nods. "I see," she says. "I'll ask around, but what if I can't find someone who can take care of her?"

Renala | "Understood," she says. "I'll see about getting that sorted out today, because this is going pretty smoothly." She gestures towards the VI projection.

Jason nods and glances back towards the door as Nathan makes his exit. "Alright, Renala. I'll let you get back to work. Just... don't go engaging in deep philosophical conversations with it that might set it on a quest to destroy the galaxy." he adds casually as he turns to leave.

Vasquez steps closer to the desk, glancing back at the door before returning her attention to Ilyna. "Look, I-... I haven't told Jason yet, but I can't come on the mission, and... I'd feel a lot better if I knew you were there to watch his back. You can find someone, right? Maybe someone in Redrock could help out?"

Renala smirks. "Warning noted," she says. "Hear that, sir knight? No philisophical talk." Her tone is a joking one, obviously.

Ilyna nods. "I'll do my best," she sighs. "I'm not looking forward to telling her, though."

Jason reaches the hallway intersection and glances around for any sign of Vasquez. Spotting Ilyna's open door, he assumes she's probably dropped by to have a chat with the asari. "Linda!" he calls out, "I'm gonna go handle that business with Vicky, alright? I'll be back later. Send me a message if you need anything."

Nathan has disappeared into the armoury.

Fergus bows his head. "Of course, madam. I consider myself a program of action over words anyway."

Vasquez frowns, seeming about to respond to Ilyna when Jason calls out. She turns halfway and shouts in response: "Alright, talk later!" She has an uncomfortable look on her face as she turns back to the asari. "I-... when does your sister come back?"

Jason starts back towards the hangar upon hearing Vasquez. He brings his omni-tool out and begins the process of harassing Jasper to take him to the Siren's Call. Before long the two depart.

Ilyna thinks for a moment. "In three days unless the hospital extends it," she says, "but she may be unable to walk properly for a while."

Vasquez runs a hand over her head, her gaze briefly moving to the ceiling as she lets out an uncomfortable grunt. She returns her attention to Ilyna. "I... suppose she could stay here... and... I could look after her until your sister can take over." She doesn't seem all that excited by the idea, but it's clear that the offer is genuine.

Ilyna offers a tiny smile. "I appreciate that," she says, "but I can tell you don't really want to." She looks down at her terminal. "I don't have much family that she'll be able to stay with, either," she says, "and even if I did, that would be a lot of traveling to ask of one of our employees."

Vasquez sighs. "Well, if you can't find some other way to solve it I'll take care of her. Really, it's... fine. Just... let me know how you solve it, yeah?"

Ilyna nods. "I'll let you know by mid-day tomorrow," she says. "Thank you."

Vasquez returns the nod and goes to leave. "I'll be sending out an Agency-wide info packet on the mission later today, and the briefing is tomorrow."

Ilyna nods, again. "I'll be there," she says. "Also, if you can get me a list of who's going, that'll help me search for a babysitter."

Vasquez nods on her way out, and soon disappears into her own office.

Ilyna returns her attention to the terminal, resuming her reading.

Nathan is lingering in the armoury and most likely will remain there for the majority of the day.
