#RuinsOfRakhana – October 5, 2016

The reminder of the trip back to Aite has passed uneventfully. Per agreement with Vasquez the Eclipse mercenaries have been dropped off on Illium before the Siren's Call went on into the Terminus Systems. Seriah has remained on the ship for the time being, having precious little idea where to go, or how to communicate with anyone. She has mostly kept to herself on this ship filled with aliens, each more strange than the last. She

has spent a great deal of time just staring out into space, fascinated by the prospect of finally being off her homeworld. The only world she has ever known. But, at the moment, she is asleep, fully dressed and with one hand grasping the strap of her rucksack which is leaned against the side of the bunk. Halisi has kept Steve sedated for the duration of the trip, and has kept a close watch on his condition between checking in on

some of the others. She is currently talking to Vasquez in the medbay. The ship is on the final leg of its journey to Aite and should arrive within an hour.

Jason is right back at eating again after having taken a nap. He's currently scooping spoonfuls of food into his mouth at a table in the mess hall, pleased to be taking advantage of being able to eat without guilt after Rakhana.

Jessica hasn't been out of her bunk much, possibly letting on that her injury has bothered her more than she previously acknowledged. She went for food and water and is now sitting in her bunk eating, despite whether or not food in the quarters is permitted.

Korio finally managed to get to sleep, but has awoken numerous times, his sleep interrupted by his own restlessness, tossing and turning in his bunk.

Steve is still silently hating everyone from his drug induced sleep.

Nathan is propped up in his bed. He's clutching a glass of water. He woke after a while and took another shower, basking in the warm water peppering his skin. Now, he's back under his covers, IV drip still annoyingly attached to his arm. He's dressed himself in Redrock provided clothing, beyond content with the feeling of fresh clothing against his skin.

Ehanis has spent most of her return trip in the bunk, still worn out, sore and stiff from the exhausting last day on the hostile planet. She has been talkative when out of her bunk, with the crew and other agency members alike, but she has only had one lengthy conversation with her sister. Currently she's lying on her stomach under her blankets, tapping away at her omni-tool.

Ilyna enters the mess hall, stopping just inside to look around. She does look towards Jason, hesitating on whether to walk up to him. She feels guilty for her earlier lashing out, and while she felt it justified at the time, she accepted his apology. At least he didn't outright deny any wrongdoing. While she has had a shower after waking up about half an hour ago, she's still wearing the same casual dress.

Renala is fast asleep in her bunk, the soft pings on her omni-tool doing little to wake her up. She has extracted the necessary data from the drell's omni-tool, but has not yet notified anyone else or tested the results. She has installed it onto her translator so she can do so later, for Seriah had fallen asleep when she had finally gotten to it. Exploring the the old omni-tool was a lot more interesting to her, as it was a

product of a different time, a time where her parents still had the unrelistic expectation she'd amount to anything other than the typical adventure-seeking maiden.

Jason shoves another scoop of food into his mouth as he spots Ilyna enter the mess hall. He offers her a smile, their earlier argument all but forgotten. She's family, and sometimes family fights. He waves her over before taking a large sip of his water. "Are you gonna make me eat alone?"

Jessica shifts awkwardly atop her bunk, wincing as another pain shoots through her side. "Ughhh...." she groans, "How much longer until we are home, mmm? I am tired of this ship already..."

Victoria has been in the pilot seat of the Siren's Call for the last leg of the journey home. She has been making sure that all of the ship's system are prepared for landing on the planet. The pilot seat did always offer a great view, but she was glad to be back on Aite after she lands the ship.

Nathan glances up to Jessica, snapping out of his daze. "Shouldn't be too long now," he says, trying for idle conversation. "First thing I'm doing is ordering just a pile of fucking burgers and shoving them into my gullet."

Jessica glances over at Nathan with a sigh. "I am going to sleep for the next year. Really sleep." she says. Sure, she had been down and out for a good portion of the job, but sleep was difficult under the circumstances they were in. "And maaaaybe go lay in the snow for the rest of the day." she adds, bringing her arm up to wipe at her dry, chapped lips with the back of her hand.

Ilyna sighs and starts to make her way over to him, without stopping by to grab anything to eat. Her hesitation was gone at the first hint of an invitation. "No, I wasn't," she says as she sits down. "Do you know when we'll be on Aite?" It may have been a diversion away from any serious topic, but she was still curious.

Jason chews up another bite and quickly swallows before giving a shake of his head. "I'm not sure. When I talked to Linda-..." he gestures arbitrarily towards the door with his spoon, "...she said we should be back in the next couple of hours and that was like-... I dunno..." he shrugs his shoulders, "...an hour ago? So probably not too long now."

Nathan chuckles faintly, idly prodding at the IV drip dangling from his arm. "Good choice...". He sighs lightly, still looking tired and depleted. "I dunno about sleep, though. I... shit, first time in a while I've had nightmares," he admits. His dreams were plagued by giant snakes, it's toothy maw lingering over him... it then closes around him... blackness.

Jessica shrugs her shoulders as she takes another sip of water before setting the glass down, allowing it sit at an awkward, dangerous angle atop her blankets with little regard for whether or not it might spill. "Nightmares or not, I am tired as fuck. Besides, a good nightmare would be welcome over that death trap planet, no?"

There is a faint shudder throughout the ship as it drops out of FTL above Aite.

Nathan rolls his shoulders in a idle shrug, not really wanting to keep on the topic of that planet for too much longer. "Yeah," he murmurs, just as the ship shudders and drops out of FTL. This time, he watches Jessica's reaction curiously, still grasping the glass of water between his hands.

Ilyna smiles. "Good," she says. "I hope things have gone well at home, I barely gave her time to think when I asked-" Then the shudder of FTL happens. "That was a short few hours," she says with a chuckle. While it's nothing compared to what the others have to look forward to, she was more than eager to be on solid ground again. She never felt comfortable or at home on ships, which was definitely not helped by past missions where

life threatening situations have occured on the way home.

Renala stirs a bit at the shudder, but she's neither woken up by it nor the conversations going on in the room.

Jason on the other hand, has always felt comfortable on ships given the amount of time he spent on military vessels during his time with the Alliance. But that was a long time ago, and no matter how 'comfortable' he feels, the Siren's Call still isn't 'home'. As the ship drops out of FTL, he glances upwards briefly as a lopsided grin crosses his face, "Maybe I overestimated." he shrugs before returning to the topic the asari

began to bring up. "Asked...?"

Jessica's eyes dart around as the ship shudders, the drop from FTL clearly catching her off guard and causing a brief panic before she realizes what's going on. It will be a lonnnng time before she's accustomed to that feeling after being landlocked for nearly her entire life. The shudder also serves as just enough to tip the domino, causing her angled glass to topple over and spill water across her blanket. With a frown and a

grunt, she scoops up the glass, uttering a batarian phrase that translates loosely to "Fuuuuuuuck."

Victoria drops the ship out of FTL to prepare for landing the ship. With the Siren's Call orbit, one last time she gives a quick once over of the ship's system making sure everything is prepared for landing. She has done this a thousand times by now, but it always best to make sure your ship does not have any major issues before entering atmosphere.

Seriah startles, suddenly wide awake as they drop out of FTL. In a blur of movement she pulls a knife from beneath the covers, gaze darting around. Once she realizes everything seems fine she sheaths the blade. She glances around in the hope of spotting Korio, but not doing so, she remains silent, looking at the awake humans.

Nathan manages to keep a smile off his face as he sips at his glass, enjoying the cool taste. "We're home, it seems-". He looks to Seriah, his fingers tightly gripping the drink before he too relaxes. He sighs, offering the drell a disarming smile. "It's fine. We're... arriving at our home." He says, hoping that maybe a few of his words will get through.

Ehanis hops out of the bunk upon the ship exiting FTL and slips into the borrowed sweatpants. She frowns at the thought of going outside in this, but it would a slightly welcome change after the week of excess heat. Her omni-tool is still glowing around her arm, a text editor open with a few meager paragraphs on it. She does change what's on the proejction to send a message to request a pickup, being the only one from the tiny tow

at the end of the north-western road. Once that's done, she sends it off and disables the omni-tool. She had nothing to pack, as Ilyna had barely found space in her bag for most of Ehanis' equipment. She picks up said bag and hauls it after her towards the elevator door without a word.

Korio stirs, but doesn't wake. It seems he really needed that sleep.

Jessica's eyes quickly dart to Nathan to make sure he didn't catch her unease. Once he addresses the drell, she swings her legs over the side of the bed and rubs at the wet spot with her blanket, looking like she's perfectly content with just leaving the mess for someone else to clean.

Seriah quite clearly has no idea what Nathan just said. At all. She looks at him with a confused frown.

Victoria has finished checking the ship's system and it appears everything is prepared, she continues on her current path. The ship is making it's way towards the atmosphere of the planet.

Ilyna remains seated, not in any hurry to leave as she's barely unpacked anything of her bags. "Asked Va'ynna to take care of Li," she says. "I know she's been through a lot lately, but... she was the only one I could trust."

Nathan sighs and shrugs. He starts to drink his water, not making any effort to prepare to depart the ship. Honestly, he's so freaking comfortable right now, he honestly can't be bothered for the moment. He glances to Jessica, offering her a nod.

Seriah 's gaze falls on the sleeping drell, and she looks bothered that the only person that can understand her isn't awake to help her understand. She looks to the humans again. "Fot in qoralis? Fot bon fot fiarah?"

Jason lets out a loud sigh. "Suppose I missed Halloween, huh?" he asks, actually not entirely sure what day it is. Time zones, planetary calenders, etc etc. Not his thing. If a ship traveling at faster-than-light speeds leaves Aite on a Tuesday and arrives at Rakhana on Sunday, how long-... No thanks. "Gonna have to make up for that. I told her there'd be candy and everything..." he frowns.

Jessica stands from the edge of her bed and puts her boots on, giving the drell a confused shrug. "I have no idea what in the fuck she is trying to say." she says dismissively with a glance to Nathan. "Why she is looking at us like this? Mmm? She knows we don't understand."

Renala is finally woken up by the increased activity in the room, but she looks around the room for any hints of what's going on. Seeing the other asari hauling a bag away somewhat answers it, but she still asks, "Where are we?" her question directed at nobody in question. She then pulls her omni-tool out from under her pillow.

Nathan offers Seriah an apologetic shrug, unable to really do anything else at this point. He answers Renala first, "We just dropped out of FTL. About to reach Aite, thank Christ," before answering Jessica, "Eh, can't really blame her for trying... Oi, Korio!" He calls out to the drell. "We're home, mate. And... Seriah could use a hand."

Seriah looks to Korio as she recognizes Nathan calling out his name. After waiting just a short moment she decides to take action, swinging her legs out of the bed and then poking the drell with her foot. "A fan [help]. Fot in [happening]?"

Korio stirs for a moment before his eyes snap open and he sits upright, looking completely alert and together. "I... I must have drifted off." he drawls, rolling his shoulders and arching his back for a quick stretch. "Suppose I needed the rest..." He tilts his head to the left then to the right, continuing his stretches as he swings his legs over the side of the bed. "What is the matter, Seriah?" he asks, looking to the fellow

drell. "We are arriving at our destination. Home." he explains. It's not his home. Home is a word that holds little meaning for him anymore, but it carries the greatest chance of bridging the translation gap between himself and Seriah.

Jessica shrugs her shoulders as she collects the bag she has shoved all over her things into. "Whatever, is not my problem." she decides as she starts towards the door, eager to get the hell off this ship and back onto solid ground.

As the Siren's Call starts descending through Aite's atmosphere the ship begins to shake very faintly.

Ilyna frowns. She had heard about it from Li, and has looked into it. Between the numerous alien holidays and customs, it hasn't been something she had really paid attention to in the past. "You shouldn't have told her that," she sighs, "but now that the damage is done, well, I don't think she'll mind a few days' delay."

Seriah furrows her eyebrows. "[We] qona [arrived]? All ah fan [homeworld]?"

Jason's frown deepens slightly. "C'mon, Ilyna. Nothing wrong with giving the kid something to look forward to. Don't worry, I'm gonna make it up to her. I had Linda order some candy and everything. I mean, she probably forgot when it was supposed to be anyway...... right...?"

Korio tilts his head to the side as he attempts to understand Seriah. "Homeworld? No. But it is our destination. Home." he repeats, gesturing to the others in the room.

Jessica's eyes go wide as the shaking begins again and she grips the edge of the doorframe, suddenly rethinking her plan of preparing to depart. She turns 180 degrees and marches right back to her bed. No way is she going to be standing when the ship shakes itself apart.

Renala plugs her omni-tool into her subdermal translator implants, and nods to the drell woman. Now would be a good time as any to confirm whether the translator works. "We're about to land on our homeworld, yes," she says, playing it back translated through the omni-tool's speakers.

Victoria has the ship enter the atmosphere of the planet. With the ship in atmosphere, she prepares everything for landing.

Nathan chuckles lightly as he watches Jessica, waving a hand to her idly. "You'll get used to it in time," he muses. He downs the last of his water, smacking his lips together as Jessica clambers back onto her bed.

Seriah turns her head to her side, eyes wide at the unfamiliar, but intelligble voice. "Who said that?" she blurts out, still looking a little startled as her hand grips the bed.

Jessica frowns at Nathan. "I am fine!" she insists, though her attention moves to Renala as she begins speaking the unfamiliar dialect. She falls quiet as she watches.

Nathan watches Renala, a curious glint to his eyes.

Ilyna nods, though she raises an eyebrow at the implications of ordering candy as opposed to buying it from a local store. "You... ordered candy?" she asks. "How much? And please tell me you have a place to store it out of her reach" She offers a small smile as she adds, "for when this holiday is over, of course."

Jason waves Ilyna's questions off. "Don't you worry about that. And of course I have a place to store it..." he continues, reaching down to rub a synthetic hand across his belly, "Riiiight here. After nothing but bug meat and nutrient paste, I could destroy a bag of candy right now."

Vasquez exits the medbay, helping Halisi wheel Steve over to the elevator.

Renala grins as Seriah implictly confirms that it's working. While this was a simple problem, she was still satisfied that it worked on the first attempt. That's not something that happens every day. "That was me," she says, the omni-tool echoing her voice in the foreign dialect. "Briggs recovered Kell's omni-tool, and I managed to get the translator data off of it."

Ehanis is on an elevator down to the hangar bay, eager to get out of this ship. Maybe she'll escape before she's asked to go to the hospital, if she's going to be.

Seriah looks at Renala, clearly quite fascinated. "I-.. oh. That is amazing..." she says, shuffling her blanket away and standing up. "I am Seriah. Although... I think you have understood that much already. Thank you for taking me with you." she says with a smile, although actually seeming a little off-put by the sudden mutual comprehension between her and the alien, having grown used to the way things have been over the past

few days.

Ilyna nods. "I'll count on you to... neutralize any excess candy, then," she says with a chuckle. "How is this celebration going to happen, anyway? Some of the things I read about I can't see being adopted on a world like this." She was still not entirely on board with providing Li virtually unlimited candy, but at least there's only one such holiday in an Earth year. Or at least, that's what she hoped. She enables

her omni-tool to send off a message she had already prepared, notifying Va'ynna that they're about to land.

Nathan chuckles, looking to Renala. "Nicely done, techie," he muses. He then rolls his neck, not entirely sure how all of this works. So, he asks perhaps a dumb question. Maybe valid, but probably still stupid. "Can she, uh, understand the rest of us, or...?"

Jason gives a shrug of his shoulders. "Just figured we could take her around the office and have the employees hand out candy. I know it's not as exciting as it would be back on Earth, but it's better than nothing, you know?" He scoops another spoonful of food into his mouth and quickly gulps it down, barely even chewing. "After everything she's been through, I figure she deserves an opportunity to celebrate every now and then.

Right?"

Korio watches with amusement at Seriah's reaction to the technology. "She can not." he responds to Nathan, choosing to take on some of the burden for Renala as she has her hands full at the moment, "But with that software, we will be able to fit her with a translator of her own."

Jessica remains silent, cautiously awaiting another rumble to rock through the ship.

There is a thud and a groan throughout the hull of the ship as it sets down in the Freedom Falls spaceport. How gentle the landing is would of course depend on Victoria's flying.

Renala smiles to the drell, and she shakes her head to Nathan before she responds to her. "You're welcome," she says. "I'll need to look over some prof-... analytical data when I return to my office and then I will distribute the translator package to the others and set something up so you can understand us without having to do this." She gestures towards her omni-tool projection for emphasis. She has missed the

dark windowless office, and her plan was to head there immediately.

Vasquez and Halisi exits the elevator on the next turn after Ehanis, Steve on a stretcher between them. They roll him out into the cargo hold as the ship sets down.

Seriah nods as she listens. "I-... thank you. This is... all very new to me. What little I have learned from other aliens like you, it is... well... little." she says with a faint chuckle, seeming a bit nervous now that there are no barriers to communication. "I... have a lot of questions. I realize you owe me nothing anymore, but..."

Ilyna sighs, though her smile does return shortly after. He was right, Li had been through a lot of terrible things, and seeing her happy always reflects back on Ilyna. "Mhm," she says. "What about costumes? That seemed like an integral part of the holiday." Not that Ilyna had any ideas for how to dress up, but she still had time to think.

Victoria having done this thousands of time, she proceeds with landing the ship. She manages to land the ship with ease and no problem what so ever.

Jason's smile returns to his face. "I might have that part covered, too." he says, though he puts his hands up defensively, realizing he's spearheading the whole operation. Operation: Candy Corn. "Unless you had some ideas of your own. I don't want to step on any toes here. But yeah... I may have ordered something to take care of that..."

Nathan sits in silence, simply watching the communication with genuine interest. He leans against his hand, peering at the two women communicating with fascination.

Renala stands up. "And you'll have a lot of time to ask them," she says with a smile, "but not now, I'm afraid. The ship has just set down, so let us get ready to leave." She starts pocketing what few belongings she has, including Kell's omni-tool. Her armor is down at the armory, and she figures she could probably get that transpoted to the office later. "Don't worry, though, the bosses are good people," she

continues. "We're not going to leave you alone out in the cold."

Ilyna chuckles. She was more than happy to leave this to him, as he seems to have celebrated the holiday many times before. Maybe next year Ilyna could contribute more on the planning. "No, I didn't," she says. "I appreciate you doing this for her, Jason, I really do."

Ehanis is standing near the edge of the ramp, waiting for it to be lowered. While she didn't have anything against most of her coworkers, she was more than eager to get away from anything Redrock for a few days. Maybe she'll make an exception if there's a celebration to be had. Maybe. Ilyna's almost bursting travel bag was at her side.

Seriah 's smile widens. She bows her head in thanks. "Bless you." she says quietly before looking around the room. "How do we get out of the ship? Back to the... the shuttle?" she asks while grabbing her rucksack, which now has her scavenged Eclipse armor strapped to it, further increasing the weight of the oversized pack.

Jason's smile persists and he gives a big nod. "Hey, it's no problem, Ilyna. She's a good kid who has been through far too much for her age. This is the least I could do. Hell, you're doing the hard part. She's lucky to have you." he says. He looks down to his food, prodding it with his spoon a few times before setting his utensil down with a sigh, "Guessing we should probably get ready to depart..."

Nathan decides to slide out of the bed. He pulls on his boots and carries the IV drip begrudgingly. He'll trust his gear to make it back to the Redrock building through some other means. For now, he just wants to get home and sink into his own bed with a beer and some greasy burgers.

Victoria begins to shut down the engines since the ship has landed. She also begins to lower the ship's ramp to allow people to leave.

Vasquez lets go of the gurney, shooting Ehanis a glance. The young asari had caused her a fair bit of trouble, but... it wasn't really her fault. She looks on as the ramp descends, cold winter air rushing in from outside. There is twilight outside. Evening, with cloudy skies and snowfall, large flakes dancing slowly down.

Renala offers a nod, her smile still persisting. "Not exaclty, but you'll see the exit if you go down to where we stepped off the shuttle," she says. "It's cold outside, though." She walks over to the elevator and presses the button to call it to their floor. She is carrying her omni-tool in her left hand.

Seriah follows after Renala, giving a glance to Korio as she exits the bunks. Understood she may be, but he's still the only other drell she's encountered.

Vasquez lifts her omni-tool in her hand, speaking on comms. "Steels. I need you to take the shuttle back to base. Anyone who wants to catch a ride should report to the bay ASAP."

Ilyna smiles. "Thank you," she says. "It means a lot to hear that." She was far from ready to be pushed into the matron stage, but she didn't regret taking her back from the Citadel for a second. She stands up from her seat. "Yeah, let's go before she rushes in to search for us."

Ehanis glances back at the chief, but she doesn't say anything to her. Not yet, because it doesn't take many barefoot steps below the ramp before she seriously considers Vasquez' offer and starts to make her way back. The asari is visibly freezing, the t-shirt doing little to keep the cold out.

Halisi wheels Steve out of the ship once the ramp is fully descended. An ambulance shuttle is waiting on the landing pad, it's lights causing the falling snow to flash blue. The paramedics meet her halfway and help move the sedated human into the ambulance.

Nathan hears the Chief's message and, fancying a ride back, replies. "On my way, Chief." He turns and glances to Jessica, motioning to her. "Coming?" He asks, quirking an eyebrow.

Jason gives a chuckle and a nod as he rises from his seat. "Sounds like that's our ride." he says as Vasquez chimes in over comms. He lifts his cup and tray up, moving to put it in the proper place before heading towards the door and waiting for Ilyna to catch up. "Me and Ilyna are on our way to the shuttle." he reports over comms.

Jessica gives Nathan a nod, waiting a moment longer, hesitantly expecting another rumble to shake the ship. When nothing comes, she stands up and slowly starts towards the door. She probably should make a trip to the hospital, but that's not gonna happen.

Korio stands from his bunk and puts on his boots before following Seriah out of the room. As many of the others have done, he leaves the rest of his gear to be delivered to Redrock HQ.

Renala enters the elevator as it opens the door and moves tand stand near the middle, as it does have doors on both sides at this floor. She's still holding the omni-tool in her hand. "We should take the shuttle back to our office," she says to the drell woman. "I think I have what we need to get you set up with a translator."

Victoria hears Vasquez on the comms and just sighs. Austin approaches Vicky and he takes over shutting down the ship. She then begins to make her way to the elevator and waits for it.

Ilyna follows Jason out of the mess hall. "I'll need to get my belongings first," she says while walking, unaware that her sister has already brought them down to the hangar. She wasn't really expecting Li to be here, considering she sent them a message just a few minutes ago.

Vasquez shoots a last glance at Steve before the injured man disappears behind the ambulance doors and it takes off, bringing him straight to the hospital. She nods towards the open shuttle door when she notices Ehanis' shivering. "Come on, get in. Your sister is angry enough with me without adding hypothermia to the heatstroke."

Va'ynna exits the space port, having watched the Siren's Call land. Li would undoubtedly be with her. She has already been here for almost half an hour, as she have an idea of how long it takes the Siren's Call to get from Illium to here. She's wearing her navy blue jacket over her red dress, and a kinetic barrier west ontop of that.

Uvena is right behind her, though she's fully suited up including a holstered pistol. She has always volunteered to guard her daughter, and she would probably have done it even if the agency wasn't paying her for it.

Jason gives a nod and gestures down the hallway. "Yeah, sure. Take your time. I'll meet you down by the shuttle." he says before setting off towards the elevator.

Li follows closely next to Va'ynna, both hands clutching the asari's. She seems a bit on edge, perhaps due to Uvena's battle-ready appearance, or perhaps she is just cold. She nearly disappears in the puffy jacket.

Ehanis nods and starts towards the shuttle at a brisk pace. She scoffs at the mention of her sister, but she couldn't be any less surpised. "I f-figured that would b-balance things out," she says with a grin.

Nathan starts off slowly towards the elevator, accommodating for Jessica's injury... and mostly for the fact he feels like he can barely achieve anything more than a weak shuffle. "So, how's Yan-Sun?" He asks idly, trying to strike up conversation. "Well, how was she when you last saw her, I mean..."

Ilyna nods and hurries towards the room. Her bag isn't where she left it, however, and it's not to be seen anywhere else either. She'll find it later, she thought, so she shrugged and header over to join the others in the elevator. Due to the injured and hesitant members of their team, she had more than enough time to do so before they left.

Jessica glances over her shoulder as she continues to limp towards the elevator. "As annoying as ever." she responds with a sigh. "Following me everywhere like lost puppy. I can't seem to get rid of her. She probably has her head buried in her pillow, crying her eyes out that I'm not back on time. Is pathetic." she continues. A small smile creeps up at the fact that she'll be able to see Yan Sun again soon, however. She gets a few

more steps down the hall before she shrugs, "She is alright." she adds in a mutter, "I guess..."

Korio gestures for Seriah to enter the elevator before entering it himself and taking a position in the corner. "It will be... strange to finally be able to speak with you." he says with a smile. "Properly, I mean."

Jason joins the others at the elevator, giving a quick wave. "Been a wild few days, but forgive me if I don't call you all up to hang out tomorrow. I think I've seen enough of you people for a week or two." he jokes as he steps past Seriah and enters the elevator.

Seriah nods. "Alright." she says, following Renala into the elevator. "Office is... place of work?" she asks, as if to make sure.

Va'ynna starts making her way to the ship, casting a few glances down at Li. Her steps are careful, excepting the surface beneath her feet to have some slippery spots. She does offer a reassuring smile, but she doesn't look too comfortable herself. "I... don't think they expect us yet," she says, "so... let's surprise them."

Uvena follows some distance behind the other two, vigilantly watching their surroundings.

Victoria activates her omni-tool while waiting for the elevator. She quickly types out a message for Va'ynna and sends it to her after she is done. 'I will meet you back at home. I gotta take the shuttle back.'

Li nods faintly, her attention entirely on the large ship sitting on the landing pad.

Renala nods and presses the button to send the elevator down to the hangar once everyone nearby are inside. "Exactly," she says. "When we're not off doing jobs like this, that's where we work."

Nathan enters the elevator with the others, smirking to the others. They all made it... they actually made it. He then glances to Jessica, laughing. "You love every movement of it, don't deny it." He winks to her and chuckles lightly, propping himself up against the wall.

Seriah nods, saying nothing for the moment, looking a little uneasy in the crowded elevator.

Va'ynna lifts her free arm up to look at the omni-tool message she just received, and she lets out a weak giggle. Victoria's not getting to choose where to meet, because that choice has already been made. They reach the ramp and she starts making her way up to the hangar bay.

Jessica of course, gets onto the elevator before Renala can close the door! She allows a small smirk to cross her lips, but she shrugs Nathan's comment off. "Is tiring to be so great." she says as she leans against the elevator wall.

Vasquez turns to Va'ynna and the others as they approach, and a smile starts to form when she notices Li. She crouches down as they come closer. "Hey..." she says softly. "Ilyna will be here soon. She's helped me bring Jason back."

Li frowns. "He's late."

Jason coughs as the elevator slowly descends, giving Nathan a nod. "Hey..." he says, leaning over and lowering his voice to a whisper as he addresses the man, "...You and I are going to need to have a talk. Take a day or two to get some rest, but yeah... I think we have a few things to discuss, alright?"

Nathan 's mood immediately plummets, not that it was all that high to begin with. He slowly turns to look at Jason, his face visibly showing his displeasure at the idea. "Sure thing, boss...". He folds his arms across his chest, his voice just as low as Jason's. "Sure...".

Va'ynna nods to Vasquez as she slowly lets go of Li's hand. "Late?" she asks with a raised eyebrow, as she's not entirely sure what she means.

Vasquez lets out a faint sigh and glances up at Va'ynna. "They had some... plans. A human thing." she offers before looking back at Li. "I know... and he's sorry. He'll be here soon to tell you in person."

Uvena waits for the other two to be inside before she starts making her way up the ramp. "Hello, Chief," she says with a sharp nod upon reaching the top of it. "I'm glad to hear your rescue mission went well." She steps out of the way, not wanting to interrupt their conversation any more.

Li nods. "Ok..." she says, remaining near Va'ynna.

Vasquez looks up at Uvena, and then stands back up with a nod. "We all are. Anything to report?"

Jason gives Nathan a shake of his head. "I'm not going to chew you out." he says, knowing that leaving him wondering for the next couple of days would just add unnecessary stress. After what they've been through, Nathan deserves to at least get some rest without worrying about his job. "You're not getting fired. We just need to talk, okay? What happened out-..." he shakes his head, realizing this isn't the time or the place, "We

just need to talk." he repeats.

Victoria seeing that the elevator is finally moving down, she continues to wait on the top floor for those on the elevator to get off.

Va'ynna nods. "Oh," she says. "You can... make new plans now that he's back, though." The asari is blissfully unaware that this was a holiday with a fixed date.

Uvena shrugs. "Everything is in order back home," she says. "At least as far as I am informed." She did respect her superiors, but she hasn't gotten the impression military-like formality is necessary with this company.

Nathan relaxes a wee moment, nodding and glancing to Jason with his tired gaze. "Alright," he says with a faint smile. At least Jase isn't letting him stew for a few days. Perhaps he could get a few days of somewhat peaceful sleep. Some actual food in his belly. "Thanks." He then allows a larger smile to spread and he adds, "Shame you never found that spider,

y'know. Cost you a years worth of whatever booze you wanted."

Jason cocks an eyebrow, then looks Nathan up and down. "Who says I'm done looking? My money is on the idea that it somehow burrowed under your skin." he teases through a grin. "Sleep well tonight!" he adds enthusiastically.

Renala smirks at Jason's joke before she exits the elevator that has just stopped at the hangar bay. She closes her omni-tool's interface and makes her way to the shuttle, not wanting to spend a moment longer than she has to in the cold hangar bay.

Vasquez nods again. "Good." she says before turning to the elevator as the doors open.

...I fucking hate your guts, Jase.

Seriah follows Renala off the elevator, eager to be out of the confined space. As the winter chill hits her she shivers, letting out a quiet gasp.

Nathan glowers at the man, although a grin tugs at the corners of his mouth.

Va'ynna is already watching the elevator, a critical eye examining anyone emerging from it in case Victoria is one of them.

Korio follows behind Seriah. A soft chuckle escapes him as she reacts to the change in temperatures. "Yes, it is probably quite jarring after living your entire life on Rakhana. But you will get used to it." he assures her.

Jason snickers to himself and gives Nathan a wink before patting him on the shoulder. "After all the trouble you've given me, I've gotta get my digs in where I can." he says as he steps off the elevator. He moves to Vasquez' side, nudging her with his elbow before spotting the others. "Heyyyyy, Li!" he says enthusiastically as he offers Va'ynna a smile and a nod.

Seriah has stopped a few steps into the cargo hold. "This is what it is like living in the skies?" she asks out loud, and after a moment she adds: "...is it too late to go back?"

Victoria hits the button to get the elevator to arrive at the top floor.

Ilyna is right behind Jason, but she stops to give Va'ynna a quick hug. "I can't thank you enough, Va'ynna," she says, and pats her shoulder. "You're the best." The asari then crouches down beside Li. "Hey!" she says. Ilyna doesn't seem to be paying any attention to the chief.

Li makes a conscious effort of putting on a frown as she spots Jason, but it doesn't last long. When Ilyna crouches down she's immediately in the asari's arms, hugging her.

Vasquez lets out an annoyed grunt as Ilyna basically shuffles right past her. She walks over to the shuttle door and motions for the others to get inside. "Anyone that wants a ride, get in." she says before activating her comms. "Steels, where the hell are you? Get down here." she snaps before getting in and sitting down.

Va'ynna is just standing still, not sure what to say. "I... I'm glad I... could help," she murmurs. She glances towards the elevator when the door closes, hoping that was Victoria.

Nathan wanders over to the shuttle, a small smile tugging. "Home~. Oh sweet Christ, home~."

Renala is already in the shuttle by the time Seriah talks, and she's not stepping out into the cold to provide an answer.

Victoria hears Vasquez again on the comms and sigh. "Waiting for the elevator and then getting my stuff. Give me like 5 minutes okay." With the elevator finally arriving she hops in and goes to the second floor.

Jason matches Li's frown. Yep, she remembered the day. "I know! I'm sorry I'm late..." he says as he looks to her, "...but I promise Halloween is still happening! Just... some boring work stuff came up and I didn't have a choice. I just need a couple days to get everything ready, okay?"

Ehanis nods to the chief, also seated in the shuttle. She looks at the reunion, but she had strict orders not to be out in the cold, though it wasn't any better in the open shuttle.

Jessica follows behind Nathan and enters the shuttle, taking an open seat as she sits her things down on the floor beside it. She doesn't even react to the cold. It's such a welcome feeling after the constant dry heat of Rakhana. "Is good to be home..." she says softly as she sucks in a deep breath, allowing the cold air to fill her lungs.

Korio pats Seriah on the shoulder, not understanding everything she asked, and gestures to the shuttle. "Take a seat." he instructs before climbing in and claiming one for himself.

Seriah follows with Korio to the shuttle, taking a seat and managing to buckle herself in this time.

Nathan collapses into a free seat and harnesses himself in, sucking in deep lungfuls of chilled air. "Never thought I'd be thankful for the cold," he says to no one in particular. He allows the chill to prick at his skin, pebbling at the winter touch.

Victoria leaves the elevator and moves to her room to collect her bags. After she collects her bags she returns to the elevator.

Ilyna returns the hug. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to leave you," she says. "And the holiday is still happening, Jason has big plans for it."

Li gives Jason a suspicious look after letting go of Ilyna. "Promise?"

Jason raises his right hand, using his left to make a cross over his chest. "Cross my heart!" he says, his frown giving way to a lopsided smirk.

Li furrows her eyebrows in confusion. "Why?"

Victoria exits the elevator on the bottom floor and enters the cargo bay.

Jason snickers and shakes his head. "It just means..... It means I promise." he nods.

Li nods, and her smile reappears in an instant as she gives Jason a quick hug before asking Ilyna: "Are we going home now?"

Va'ynna 's attention snaps to the opening elevator door, and she's quick to cross the distance when she realises who it is. "Victoria!" she says with a big grin before she wraps her arms around her in a hug, not offering the human woman any choice in the matter. Tears form under her eyes as emotions overwhelm her. Happy tears.

Victoria is a little surprised to see Va'ynna here. "Hey there, sweetie. Thought I was going to meet you back at home." She wraps her free arm around the asari.

Jason returns the hug, patting Li on the back before standing up and looking to the group. "Hop in." he says with a nod towards the shuttle, "It might be a little cramped, but we can drop you off at home. No sense in you guys walking all that way in the cold. Or wasting credits on a taxi."

Ilyna nods, offering a small smile. "Yeah, let's go home," she says. "Jason has had a long week, we can visit when things settle down." She glances towards the shuttle, and opens her mouth when the answer comes before the question. "I was about to ask," she says with a chuckle. "Thank you." The asari reaches out to take Li's hand and help her into the shuttle.

Va'ynna holds her tightly, knowing full and well she's delaying the others return. That made her feel guilty, but she hasn't seen Victoria in over a week. "I... was already here when you sent that message," she murmurs.

Li looks tiny in the shuttle seat, but the harness is fortunately adjustable, meant to accomodate species of varying size. "Cool..." she says quietly as she looks around the shuttle.

Uvena remains near the ramp, though she steps closer to the shuttle. She was going wherever Va'ynna was going, as is her job.

Jason climbs into the shuttle before looking out towards Victoria and Va'ynna. "Get a room!" he teases. He opts to stand, despite the protest from his tired, aching legs, and takes a position near Vasquez. "Never thought I'd be so happy to be freezing my balls off."

Victoria continues to hold on the asari "We might need to stop hugging for a moment, so I can take everyone home." She pauses for a moment "How about I do that and meet you at home, yeah?"

Ilyna smiles after adjusting the harness and moves to claim the seat beside her. She was freezing as her jacket was in her bag, but she did an excellent job at hiding that fact.

Vasquez rolls her eyes, but a small smirk creeps up. "Good to have you back, Jason."

Va'ynna shakes her head, and reluctantly lets go of her. "Nuh-uh," she says followed by a quick kiss to her cheek. "I'm not letting you... go that soon. I'd like to be your... co-pilot for this trip."

Victoria smiles at the asari "Alright, I'm not going to argue with you. Lets go." She begins to move towards the shuttle.
