#Siren'sCall – March 24, 2016
Jason would have made an agreement with Austin and Krath to remain onboard the ship and keep the remaining crew in line (And unarmed) for the time being. A rotating shift of armed Redrock employees would remain with the ship until plans can be made on what to do with it. Renala would be asked to change all of the access codes on the ship, leaving any non-Redrock crew members able to only access specific areas: The crew quarters, the
Renala complied with that order, and it took her most of the day to make sure all the systems. She started with discussing the systems with the engineering team, to save time having to map it out herself.
MCB | Krath was in the mess hall with his pet Pyjak, shotgun nearby. The pyjak was causing ruckus, but the non-Redrock members would be use to it. Whenever it annoyed a Redrocker, Krath laughed.
Nathan has remained in the armoury, taking stock of the weapons and checking their quality. At one point he plucked up the armour and examined it, humming as he turned it around in his hands before resuming his inspection.
Jason is standing in the CIC, dressed in a white t-shirt, black fatigues and black boots. No armor, but his Phalanx is in a shoulder holster, plainly visible. Mendez, who has been on guard-duty at the ship all day, is at his side. He, on the other hand, is in full armor. Jason is leaned up against the wall, waiting for Victoria to arrive.
Victoria walked into the CIC with Austin in tow, she was wearing a black t-shirt and dark blue long pants. Austin was wearing white t-shirt, black pants. Vicky looks at Jason and gives a wave "Hey boss."
Jason gives a nod to each in turn, his synthetic arms folded across his chest. "Vicky. Austin." he greets. "Had a chance to go over everything and discuss things with Vasquez and Ilyna, and we've come to a decision on how to continue forward." he begins, pausing to clear his throat. "I'm sure you recall the deal we made. Redrock takes ownership of the Siren's Call. We claim all of the
cargo onboard, weapons, so on. After a period of two years where we're able to use the ship to turn a profit, Redrock would then sign the ship back over to Vicky." he gestures towards Victoria with his left hand and awaits confirmation from her.
Victoria nods "Yes I do remember, but I got three little thing. If you would hear me out." She waits for acknowledgement before continuing.
Jason raises an eyebrow. "Go ahead, but I'm gonna warn you, we've already discussed all of this and came to conclusion. I don't want you thinking I'm unwilling to hear you out, just understand that Redrock is a business first and foremost, and we have priorities." He pauses and nods, "Let's hear it."
Victoria nods "Well number one, I want to keep my old armor. Would like to keep what use to belong to me." She stops for a moment "Number two, I want the thief's weapon. Kind of my last screw you, to that prick." She stopped and waited to hear his approval or denial of her requests so far.
Jason smirks, happy to hear that none of her requests so far tread on the conditions already decided upon by himself, Ilyna and Vasquez. He gives a nod, "Sure. What's your final request?"
Victoria smiles at the results so far, which she keeps during her next request. "Well number three, since I will be the captain of the ship, most of the time. I request that the captain's quarters, belong to me." She stops waiting to hear what his words were to be on this final request.
Jason shrugs his shoulders. "That shouldn't be a problem. Which leads me to the proposition we've come to." He sucks in a deep breath through his nose and passes Mendez a glance. "Now, I want to start by saying I mean absolutely no offense in any way, and I don't want you to take anything I'm saying as a threat." He pauses to look between Vicky and Austin for a moment, "The fact of the
matter is, we absolutely cannot work alongside pirates." He puts his hands up, palms outward with an apologetic tilt of his head, "I mean nothing by it. But, for one, we couldn't afford to pay you guys if we did hire you. Two? If word got out that we were working with a ship full of pirates, our credibility would go out the window. So that means our only option to keep this ship running
in service of Redrock would be to remove all of the crew and hire on our own, reputable people." He pauses once again for impact as he looks at the others, "We don't want to do that. So here's what we propose: As per the original agreement, Redrock will remove all of the cargo and weaponry. We've already changed the command codes, but we'll also be installing our own software and monitoring
equipment on the VI. From here on out, you are no longer pirates. You will operate independantly of Redrock, but you'll be hauling cargo, not stealing cargo. Get contacts around Aite and start making an honest business out of this thing." he reaches over and runs a palm across the wall, "In exchange, Redrock will be taking a portion of the profits for the next two years. The rest will
fall to Vicky to keep the ship running, make sure your crew are paid, fed, equipped, whathaveyou. So...?"
Victoria | Austin looked at Vicky and then back at Jason, he gives a nod at the man "That is completely understandable. I was trying to find a way out of pirate life anyway. Krath will want to have a gun with him and that Redrock does nothing to his Pyjak. Apart from that, the crew that stayed is willing to work with you all, as the ship's crew." Vicky then clapped her hands "Well, seems like we all have what we want. But how are we going to be
Jason 's smile widens as the others seem agreeable. "As I said, Vicky. The Siren's Call will be used to haul cargo. That means it will be up to you, Austin and the rest of the crew to reach out and make contacts across Aite. Plenty of honest businesses around here. Given our location out in butt-fuck-nowhere, their only option for getting goods is to import them from council space. A
lot of transport companies take advantage of that and charge these poor folks an arm and a leg. You have the unique opportunity to swoop in, offer them a fair deal, and build a business from the groun up. There may be times when Redrock requires your assistance, but the Siren's Call's primary job will be running cargo to-and-from Aite. And, hell, maybe to other places too if you're
ambitious enough. We'll be expecting expense reports, ship logs and so on to make sure you're staying on the up-and-up. As I said, Renala is already rigging up some monitoring equipment that will automatically report back to Redrock." He looks pointedly at Austin, "Which means if you try to fuck us, we will come for you." He shrugs once more, "Again, that's not a threat. It just is what
Victoria and Austin both nod at that. Austin: "Reasonable measure, but I can tell you truthfully, that I will not try to pull any shit."
Jason nods in turn. "Excellent. Sounds like we've got an agreement." His smile returns as he glances between the two again, "So what's in the cargo hold, anyway?" he asks. "We'll be hauling the weaponry and cargo back to base over the next few days, but I'd like to know what's inside those crates before we just shove 'em in our building."
Victoria spreads her arms out wide "Millions of big bombs." She was clearly joking and Austin shook his head, in which he then answered the question. "A few spare parts for the ships and food, in case of emergency really."
Alright, we'll leave those behind, then. I'll make sure the team hauling things back knows about it. Might be a good idea to tag them. Something like "Ship Parts & Food" or something so they don't get unloaded on accident.
Victoria and Austin both nodded again, "So, we are not gonna rename the ship? Gonna keep everything the same?" Vicky asked wondering if Redrock wanted to rename it.
Jason gives a shake of his head. "You're more than welcome to rename her if you want. For all intents and purposes, this is your ship. We just happen to own it for now." he adds with a smirk, "Semantics. You'll be in charge of overseeing this whole operation, Vicky. This is your shot at redemption. After that display yesterday, you're already on strike two... But I know this ship is
important to you. I believe you'll keep your crew and Redrock's best interest in mind. If there's no more questions....?" he pauses, waiting to see if anything else needs answering.
"That is all of the questions, I got. Austin." Vicky looks at Austin, the older man shook his head "I got none, so it looks like we are all at agreement."
Jason claps his hands together and lets out a deep breath. His hands make an unnatural sound as the clasp together. "Awesome. In that case, we're done as soon as you can bring Tarkus up." he says with a grin, "Is he doing alright?"
"Stitches, was looking after him. Before you ask, Stitches is the doc." Austin states and then begins typing on his omni-tool. A few moments later Tarkus is escorted up by Krath, "So you stomped his head in?" Tarkus asked the krogan "Yep, still trying to clean my boot from that." The two clearly chatting about the demise of the former captain. Tarkus was wearing his armor.
Jason 's grin widens and he gives a shake of his head as he takes a few steps towards the familiar turian. "Well, shit. No matter how much time passes, some shit just always stays the same. Still getting yourself into trouble, Tarkus. And here I am, bailing you out."
Tarkus looked at the human and gave a turian smirk "But I don't think you ever bailed me out before. Glad to see you again Wolfe, heard you got yourself a group of people to listen to you finally." The turian was clearly playing along with human.
Jason rolls his eyes, extending a synthetic hand towards the turian. "Uh huh. We're doing well out here." he says, "How has the galaxy been treating you? Aside from, you know, getting your ass captured by a bunch of space-pirates?" He lets out a low chuckle.
The turian shrugs "Eh, in the middle. Filled with some good and some bad moments." He pauses for a moment "As much as I love catching up in a ship, why don't we go to a bar and drink?"
Jason gives a shrug, glancing over at Victoria and Mendez. "I'd say that covers our business here for now." he informs, "You're free to get back to whatever it is you were doing." Since Tarkus seems to have snubbed his handshake, he retracts his hand awkwardly and approaches Austin. "This is your chance to turn your life around, Austin. If you and your crew need anything, don't hesitate
to let us know, alright? Just don't make me regret putting you guys in charge." He nods and glances back at Tarkus, "Let's go. I know a nice little place not too far from here."
Austin nods at Jason, stating that he understands what Wolfe states. Tarkus walked next to Jason and threw an arm around his shoulder, buddy like. "Well, lead the way my friend. I would have shook your hand, but afraid you might break my hand now." The turian was clearly messing with the human still.
Jason lowers his gaze, holding his hand out in front of him. He gains an uncomfortable look for a few moments as he studies his hand. "It's a long story, old friend..." he says with a sigh. "Lonnng story." With that, he leads the way out of the ship and back onto the awaiting shuttle.
