Jason asking Renala to try tracking Sala Piros' omni-tool (skipping Work)

Renala opens the door to the hallway and steps outside, Va'ynna following behind. "If any of the tech gives you trouble, you know where to find me," she says with a pat to her shoulder. "Vica's upstairs, by the way. My unlikely guess is that she's looking for you." They then part ways, with Renala heading over to Jason's office. She doesn't bother with the 'doorbell' and instead opens the door without offering any warning. It's

only been three minutes since he called her to come over, after all. "You called?"

Jason is much in the same state as he was when Victoria left his office: still armored up aside from his helmet and gauntlets, which are set atop his desk beside his Revenant. As his door slides open, he looks to Renala. "Yeah, thanks for coming by." he says, shifting in his seat. "I don't need much of your time. Just seems like we're out of options when it comes to putting a cap on this ordeal since we were unable to turn up any

new intel." he explains, "I don't feel comfortable with the idea of leaving this 'Sala Piros' unchecked. We can't be confident that V is safe until she's dealt with." he admit with a sigh, giving a shake of his head before continuing, "That-... whatever-you-called-it? The exploit? It seems like that might be our only option if we're going to pick up any leads on her. Can you do it?"

Renala steps inside and nods. "I can give it a shot, boss," she begins, "but are you sure about that?" She sighs. "We'll risk losing the only lead we have by alerting her that we know her name and contact info. If that happens, we won't get a location either."

Jason sighs and shakes his head. "No, of course I'm not sure. But what other option do we have? If this doesn't work out, what exactly do we 'lose' anyway? We know nothing about her other than a name. Her contact info isn't doing us much good if we can't do anything with it, and I doubt it's going to go well if I just-..." he begins pantomiming typing on an omni-tool and makes a couple

'beep-boop' noises, "...ring her up like, 'Hey! Hi! Yeah, so how about you stop trying to enslave my friends? Oh, that works for you, too? Great!' Yeah, I don't think so. As much as I'd like to mitigate any risk that I can, I think this is the only option we have left." he says, looking back to Renala with a shrug. "Unless you've got some other ace up your sleeve you've been hiding. I

mean, I'm always open to suggestions."

Renala chuckles and shakes her head. "I suppose you're right," she says. "I was planning to pass the reports so far along to T'Rea, but that's no more likely to get us something. Not anything to do with T'Rea, but Serrice is too big for her to know everyone." She pauses, appearing thoughtful for a moment. "One thing I can do to mitigate the risk considerably is to use one of the recovered omni-tools," she says. "That way, we might

be able to get something to go on even if the exploit fails to do its job. And I don't have come up with some fake unsolicited advert."

Jason gives a nod, barely understanding what she's talking about. "Yeah, absolutely. Sounds-... uhh.... great." he says. "Whatever you can do to reduce the risk of spooking her is a good thing. I've already got Vicky on standby and we'll be ready to move on whatever intel you can find."

Renala frowns. "Shouldn't she stay on the sidelines for this?" she asks. "That wasn't the first time she went out of control because things got personal."

Jason lowers his gaze briefly, nodding somewhat, but eventually looks back to Renala. "You're not wrong." he admits with a sigh, "But I think this is something she needs to do. If she gets out of hand, I'll reign her in. But I know if Linda's safety was at risk, the last thing I would want to do is sit back and let other people step up and clear things up. V is my friend. One of my

best friends. But she's Victoria's girlfriend. Vicky needs to know that this is taken care of, V is safe and that she had a hand in making it happen." he explains. His gaze moves to his hands for a moment as he taps a metallic finger against his desk, "I know I would if the situations were reversed."

Renala gives a few nods while he speaks, also lowering her gaze. "You make a good point," she says. "I'd really hate if I had to stay back were this about Aeyna, and I would wish nothing short of death on those responsible." She turns around and takes a step towards the door. "I'll go get the omni-tool."

Jason nods once, sitting back in his seat. "Just do what you can, Renala. I'll be here. It's been a long fucking day, but with any luck we'll be able to put a cap on the end of this whole mess soon enough." he sighs.

Renala nods and steps out of the room. "I think 'any luck' might be too much to ask, considering the shit we've been through," Renala says, ever the optimist. She starts making her way back to her office at a brisk pace.

Jason reaches over and taps his terminal, causing the door to slide shut. He lets out a sigh, "Ain't that the truth..." he mutters under his breath.
