The farmstead ruins are seen yet again as they approach the forest clearing. There does not appear to be any other shuttles in the area. Renala has not come up with any more information during their short trip.

The shuttle comes in low, scanning the horizon for any sign of movement. It sets down just outside of the front entrance. The shuttle doors slide open as it touches down. "I ain't seein' nothin' out here!" Jasper calls back.

Jason is already waiting near the door, holding a handhold when they slide open. "Let's move, Vicky. Eyes open! You see someone, call 'em out." he says as he pulls his Revenant from his back and disembarks from the old shuttle, weapon shouldered but aimed towards the ground.

Victoria stands up from her seat and draws her phaeston. "If they engage us, are we taking them down or disabling?" She asks Jason as she exited the shuttle behind him.

There is no reaction to Jason and Victoria leaving the shuttle.

Well, considering we're not even sure if there is a "they", I can't exactly answer that right now. We're here for answers, and we can't get them from a corpse. But if we're fired upon I sure as hell don't expect you to just sit here and take it. Just be careful.

Jason sweeps his weapon from side-to-side as he slowly approaches the door, listening for any sign of someone inside.

There are no sounds coming from inside, although the ambient sounds from the windy forest would be enough to mask light footsteps.

Victoria follows behind Jason, she keeps her weapon lowered. Keeping her eyes out for anything that seems to be disturbed since the last time they had been there.

Jason moves to the side of the door and gives a glance to Victoria and a single nod before opening the door and stepping aside to stay out of her way in case anyone is inside and she needs to open fire.

There are no obvious new footsteps on the ground or any that lead off to a previously unexpored direction. The hallway is as the previous team left it, the very dead salarian in the corner to the left being the only one to 'watch' the door.

Victoria scans the hallway as soon as he steps out of the way. With her weapon raised and aiming down sight, she just shakes her head. "Only a dead salarian. You want to take the lead or shall I?"

Jason waves Victoria in to lead. He falls into step behind her, weapon aimed towards the ground. "Let's give it the once over and get out of here." he whispers, frustrated at the lack of any sign of their asari 'friend'.

Victoria takes point and moves slowly into the hallway, keeping her sights forward and her weapon at the ready. "Just looks all dead to me." She whispers back to him.

The doors to the bedroom and the storage closet -- where Va'ynna was kept -- are still open. The barricade Renala destroyed is still absent from the right (from entrance) end of the hallway.

Jason remains just behind Victoria, eyes ahead as they sweep the hallway. He waits for Victoria to take the lead before deciding where to move on to.

"I'll check the storage closet." She whispers and begins moving towards the closet to see if anyone was in there.

Jason nods and steps past Victoria as she breaks off, heading to the bedroom. As he nears the door, he raises his Revenant and steps in quickly, sweeping from corner to corner.

The storage room does not appear to have been disturbed after they extracted Va'ynna.

The bedroom is just as messy as when they last were there. An omni-tool with a blinking blue light hanging on the underside of the upturned bed along the right wall is undoubtedly going to catch his attention. It has a camera attached to it that seems to be watching the room.

Jason furrows his brow as he spots the camera. "Got something in here, Vicky..." he calls out, feeling less interested in keeping his voice down as it becomes obvious that they're expected at this point. "Looks like someone may have been waiting for us! Eyes open!" he calls out, suddenly feeling the paranoia rise up in him. "Jasper." he announces over comms, "Eyes peeled. Whoever was

here seems to have known we'd be back." Weapon raised, he slowly moves towards the omni-tool.

Victoria moves back into the hallway. "Cleared in my room. Want me to keep an eye on the front door while you sweep the rest?" She asks Jason, wondering if that would be a smart plan since they seem to be watched.

As Jason get closer, the light changes is no longer blinking but remains on. "That is close enough," the speakers on the device sounds, the voice distinctly female. "It will self-destruct if you tamper, so don't bother." There is no voice coming from anywhere else in the building, and the voice on the speakers is not whispering.

Jason goes to answer Victoria when the voice sounds out. He instinctively raises his Revenant, but immediately feels a little stupid as he rests his sights on the omni-tool. "Sala Piros, I presume?" he asks with a sigh, holding his ground as he glances about the room just to give a second check and make sure it's clear. Once his gaze rests back on the omni-tool, he calls out to Victoria,

"I don't think that's going to be necessary, Vicky." he says, the frustration clear in his voice.

Victoria still keeps her eyes on the door, she could hear Jason talking to the voice coming from the same room. In her mind this was shaping up to be a trap and keeping an eye on a entry point seems to be a good plan.

There is one breached window in the bedroom, two entrances to the hallway -- of which one can be closed --, and a hole in the bedroom ceiling where Victoria fell through back when they attacked. It's thus not possible for one person to watch all potential points of entry.

"That is correct, and you're with Redrock Agency," the voice on the speaker says, seeming certain in the fact. "I'm impressed, but this is where your lead goes cold."

Jason gives a humorless chuckle. "Oh yeah? That so? Look, lady. I couldn't give a shit less about chasing you around the galaxy." he says, lowering his Revenant somewhat and taking a step backwards towards the door. "You stay the hell away from Freedom Falls and I've got no issue with you. Now what was your business with these scumbags and what does it have to do with my friend?" he

asks.

Victoria just listens to Jason talk to the voice, while she tries her best to keep an eye out. This whole situation seems like a trap to her and she would try her best to keep an eye and a ear out for anything fishy.

A laugh can be heard from the other end. "You really think you're in control here, do you?" she taunts. "I don't owe it to you to state my business."

Jason nods a few times dismissively, his eyes moving to the breached window. "Uh huh. Right. You're in control from your fancy little-..." he gestures towards the omni-tool with his Revenant, "...camera. Right. Come on now. We just tore through your little friends like a finger through cheap toilet paper. If you want to keep this up, I've got all week to play. But I can promise it won't

end well for you. Or?" he continues, "We could end this shit right here and you could assure me my you're going to stay the hell away from my friend and my town. I don't know what you want-... And hell, to be honest? I really don't give a fuck. But whatever it is, you're not getting it here."

"Go ahead, shoot the camera," she says. "You don't know who I am, what I look like, where it's going to be if we meet next." She pauses. "I could be in your town right now for all you know, smiling to you as I pass you in the grocery store tomorrow." She laughs. "Enough of that, what about a business proposal?" she says. "I have a thing on my backlog. A little annoyance. You sort that out, I promise I'll leave your precious friend alone."

Victoria slowly moves into the bedroom, wanting the camera to see her as well. "Why would we do anything for you, when you try to buy someone we cared about." She stops for a second "How can we even trust you will keep your word?"

Jason frowns at the asari's confidence. His frown only deepens as she continues. He nods to Victoria as she arrives and speaks up before putting his own two cents in. "And the implication being if we don't sort your shit out, you won't leave her alone? Sounds more like a threat than a business proposal." he says through clenched teeth.

"That is a reasonable assumption, yes, but it's more fun to leave you wondering," she says with a grin in her voice. "So what say you, do you accept or decline?"

A gust of wind makes the tree canopies brush against one another in the nearby treeline. There is nobody in the window.

Victoria turns her head to look at Jason, in her eyes since he was the boss it was his call. If it was truly up to her, she would hunt down this bitch.

Jason snorts through his nose and gives a roll of his eyes as he glances over to Victoria, shaking his head in frustration. "How about you tell me what this is about?" he asks, humoring her offer for now, "I haven't survived in this business this long by blindly accepting jobs that I know nothing about." The wind doesn't do much to startle Jason, as by this point he has already assumed

she's going to stay far, far away. And given the channels she has moved through to get Va'ynna, it's unlikely she has people of her own. Besides, why else would she be trying to get Redrock to do her dirty work for her if she had goons of her own?

She is silent for about five seconds. "Very well," she says. "I have a few questions for this person." An image is projected above the omni-tool of a dark-blue asari with a slightly brighter shade of blue around her face. She has faint blue markings on her cheeks. "Find her, restrain her, bring her before the camera, and leave. Simple. I know she is in Freedom Falls, but that is where the intel ends."

Jason sucks a deep breath in through his nose. "No name? Freedom Falls is a big place." he says simply, hoping to squeeze as much info as he can out of her.

Victoria looks at the image and recognises the asari as the one she stopped the first time searching around for Va'ynna. "Are we at least going to know why you want her?"

The person on the other end sighs. "Her name is Wenera Leren, and I want a few answers," she says. "That's all you'll get from me. So, what's it going to be? Will you do this for me?"

Jason snickers, feeling as though maybe they have the upper hand for now. "See, here's the thing. Redrock has a reputation to uphold. We're not in the business of working with pieces of shit looking to purchase other people. And now that you've shown your hand, you can bet your ass my friend is going to have an around-the-clock armed escort. You see, you need us to do something for

you. You know what that tells me? It tells me you can't do it on your own. Now why in the fuck should I be afraid of of someone who can't even get ahold of one asari that's right under her nose?" he asks, cocky grin returning to his face. "I think it's time you fold and tell us what in the hell all of this is about, Piros. You're beginning to test my patience and you've already taken

way too much time out of my day."

Victoria remains silent for the time being, allowing Jason to handle the situation. He was already saying everything that Vicky would have said but just in a more professional manner and with a whole lot less profanity, that she would have definitely used.

Sala laughs. "Keep telling yourself that," she says. "Does your armed guard even know what to look for? Of course they don't. People usually don't see me coming. I could be there at any moment, you know, or maybe I won't bother. Are they going to watch every blue face with a critical eye?"

Jason furrows his brow, considering it for a moment before simply nodding. "Yeah. Sure. Why not. Hell, I've already got more enemies than I can count. At this point, I watch everyone with a critical eye. See, you're rapidly approaching dangerous territory here. Threats. Spite. I don't scare too easily and all I've seen from you is that you can afford to hire other people to do your

dirty work. Hell, you're not even on my radar right now. I'm gonna give you some friendly advice: Get off Aite while you still can, or contact your next of kin." He looks over to Victoria and shakes his head once again before looking to the camera, "Now are we done here? Because I've gotta take a shit and you wouldn't believe how hard it is to get out of one of these suits in a pinch."

Victoria puts a finger up after Jason has finished his words. "I actually got something to add." She lowered her hand and looked at the camera. "See, you might think that this fellow might be lying and you might think we cannot find you." She shakes her head "You see, you would be dead wrong. I got one big connection off world, one that most would know not to piss off." She pauses again and stares down the camera. "You have fourteen days to

make a choice to never bother anyone that comes from Freedom Falls, and for us to never hear about you again. If we don't hear a response we like..." She cracks her knuckles "I will personally start tearing up any social circle you might be a part of. Unlike most people, I know how to find people like you. You better leave Freedom Falls and Redrock alone, or I will find you and I will end you." Her tone was nothing but anger and venom,

she was telling the truth and her words definitely carried the weight.

"Ooh, I'm looking forward to it already, darling," she says. "Okay, we're done. I hope you had as much fun as I did." The holographic interface showing the picture on the distorts and disappear. Smoke soon rises from the device followed by a few crackling sounds from inside it. It does not appear to explode, however.

Jason bites down hard as the omni-tool shuts down. He does nearly a full rotation in frustration and cusses under his breath. "Fuck!" He sucks in three deep breaths and closes his eyes for a moment, nodding to himself. "We'll handle this..." he says, just as much to himself as to Victoria. "She has no idea who she's fucking with."

Victoria gives a nod to Jason. "She has absolutely no idea who she's fucking with. Lets get out of here, since there is nothing." Vicky had gone back to her normal tone after letting her anger show for a mere moment.

The crackling stops, and the smoke eventually ceases as well due the omni-tool being cooled down by the winter air.

Jason nods to himself and paces across the room to grab the destroyed omni-tool. "May as well see what Renala can pull off this thing..." he says before rejoining with Victoria and starting out of the old building. "What a fucking day..."

The window and outside doorway still appears clear. The windy weather outside has not changed.

Victoria puts her phaeston on her back and starts to exit the building. "Now we got to figure out what to do next about this."

With any luck, she's a whole lot smarter than she sounds and this is the last we'll hear from her. If not-... well, like I told her. She's obviously not capable of handling her own shit, so you can bet your ass we'll be ready to put down whoever she sends our way. She'll slip up eventually, and when she does we'll be right on her ass.

Victoria gives a nod to him, she thought the better idea would be to actively hunt down this bitch but she would let Jason do it his way.
