Va'ynna takes a seat on the couch when they reach the rec room, shifting the blanket to cover as much of her as possible. The asari is still cold and she shivers every now and then.

Jason sets off right for the counter in the corner, setting his helmet down beside the coffee maker. "Coffee? Hot cocoa?" he asks, casting a glance back over his shoulder towards the asari. "I sent a message to Halisi. She should be here ASAP. For now, just relax, alright?"

Va'ynna looks at the screen, which still displays the frames Renala picked out earlier. "Hot Cocoa, please," she says. "I... don't like the taste of coffee."

Jason nods to himself as he gets a mug from the overhead cabinet and sets it down on the counter. "...Sorry, V." he says with a sigh as he begins mixing the instant cocoa together using hot water from the coffee machine. "This never should have happened. But I give you my word that I'm going to get to the bottom of this and make sure these people aren't able to hurt you ever again."

Va'ynna frowns. "I... don't know who they are, what... they want, if they... will come for me," she says, "but..." She sighs. "Just when I started to feel safe again," she adds in a mutter.

Jason finishes stirring the contents of the mug and lifts it by the handle before joining Va'ynna by the couch. "You are safe, V." he says, extending the mug out towards her. "I can't imagine how you must be feeling, but I know you can't just let this keep you down. That's how they win. You just-... get back up. Dust yourself off. And keep living, V." he sighs, "It's not always easy, but it's all we have, right? And I know it's

probably not much of a comfort, but there will never be a time when you're in danger that I won't be there."

Halisi enters the Redrock building's ground floor, moving inside at a brisk pace after returning Fergus' greeting. She heads down the corridor and disappears into the infirmary for a while, grabbing some things and holding a quick conversation with the VI.

Va'ynna takes the mug, and holds it by the handle once she has it. "Thank you," she says. She lays the flat of her free hand on the side of it to feel the warmth. "What do you mean,... they win?" she asks. "Making me feel... unsafe. I don't think that was their plan. I... I think I know what you're saying, though, what... what can I do?"

Jason folds his arms across his chest once the cocoa is no longer in his custody. "I just mean it's not worth giving them the satisfaction of ruining your life. I don't know. You just-..." he shrugs, "...wake up. Get dressed. And keep living your life, V. This past year has been rough on you, but it's not always going to be like this. It's just bad luck. The universe giving you a big old middle finger." he frowns, "...But that's

temporary. Things are going to get better." He lets out a deep sigh and steps in front of the couch, plopping down into the seat on the opposite end of the couch from the asari, "I just don't want to see you fall back into that pattern of being afraid to leave your apartment." he admits. "Trust me. As someone who wakes up every single day wondering who will want to shoot at me on this day, it's not worth wasting the time

in-between getting all wound up over what might happen. Okay?"

Halisi steps out of the infirmary and heads up the stairs, soon entering through the rec room door. She makes her way to Jason and Va'ynna, but doesn't interrupt their conversation, instead putting down the satchel she brought on the floor and waiting.

Va'ynna nods. "I know..., but... well, it... I'm not sure if it's a good idea to go out alone anyway," she says, before taking her eyes off the screen at the sound of someone entering. "I can't fight back."

Jason glances over at Halisi, offering her a nod in greeting. As Va'ynna finishes, he gives a shake of his head. "Nothing wrong with not knowing how to fight, V. That's what I'm here for." he offers with a wink as he grasps the armrest of the couch and pushes himself back to his feet,"Like I said. I'm going to get to the bottom of this and make sure you're safe." His gaze moves between

the two women, "Well, I'm gonna let you do your thing, Halisi. Vicky and Uvena are getting some clothes for her, but they should be back soon. A group of assholes grabbed V this morning. Sounded like they were hoping to ransom her back to her mother for some credits or-..." he trails off, shaking his head and thinking better than going into any more detail than that. "Just thought you

should give her a look over and make sure everything is-... you know. In order. No hypothermia or anything-..." he furrows his brow as a question pops up in his mind, "...Can asari get hypothermia? What color would they turn...? I mean they can't turn blue! Well... most anyway. Ya know what, nevermind. Just-..." he points a finger at Va'ynna, waggling it a bit as his eyes rest on

Halisi, "...Yeah. Doctor her up." He turns on his heels and brings up his forearm as he makes his way back over to his helmet. As the omni-tool interface pops up, he begins speaking into it, using his speech-to-text program to begin an extranet search. "What color do cold asaris turn?" he asks, enunciating each syllable as he collects his helmet with one hand and starts towards the door.

Halisi listens in silence, eyebrow raised, as Jason rambles, and upon his departure she shakes her head slightly and grabs her bag, sitting down next to Va'ynna with a gentle smile and taking out her omni-tool, starting to poke at the red haptic interface. "I'm glad you're back safely. It must have been a terrifying experience." she says with a look at the asari, starting to run a scan of her with her omni-tool. "How do you

feel?"

Va'ynna listens to Jason ramble, but is interrupted by the doctor before she could provide the answer. She takes a small tentative sip of the hot cocoa. "I... don't feel well," she says. "Mostly cold, though, but also... generally ill." The scan reveals a lower than normal internal temperature, near the upper bounds of what one would classify as mild hypothermia. Other levels that such a scan can provide appear to be normal.

Halisi looks over the results of the scan as she listens to Va'ynna, nodding calmly. "I don't blame you, you've been through a lot. You should be fine once you've warmed up. You're suffering from some mild hypothermia, but it looks like the others have taken good care of you." She puts a hand gently on Va'ynna's shoulder. "The best you can do is just to stay here while you warm up. Make sure you drink that." she says with a nod

to the cocoa, and then pulls out another blanket from her satchel, draping it over the asari. "I'm going to get you something small to eat and see if I can find any more blankets, alright?"

Va'ynna gives a small smile as the blanket is draped over her. "Thank you," she says. "I... uh, I don't remember arriving at their... place. One moment I was in the car, then I... woke up in a cold and dark room." She takes another small sip of the drink.

Halisi stands up and heads over to the refrigerator, frowning faintly. "There are far too many awful people out here in the Terminus." she muses quietly, returning soon to the couch with a candy bar in hand. She hands it over to Va'ynna with a nod. "Eat this. You need to regain your energy." she says before going off to the door, poking her head outside to see if Jason is anywhere to be seen.

Jason is just outside the apartment door, clothes draped over his shoulder and eyes locked on his omni-tool as he heads towards the locker room. "Wha-... that doesn't make any sense..." he mutters aloud, brow furrowed. "What does the word 'cobalt' mean?" he asks, enunciating each word, indicating he's probably searching the extranet. "...Huh? The fu-... That's just blue..." he continues to mutter.

Va'ynna takes it with a nod and puts it on the cushion beside her. "Mhm," she hums, but does not give any more specific of a response. She resumes looking at the pictures. "Is... she involved too?" she mutters to herself as she studies the middle picture on the bottom row: victoria speaking with a dark blue asari outside the convenience store.

Halisi clears her throat. "Jason, are there any more blankets in the building? For Va'ynna."

Jason stops in place, rotating on his heels to face Halisi. "Hm...?" he asks as he processes her question. "Oh! Shit. Yeah, of course." he says, quickly marching past the doctor and back into the rec room, giving a quick glance around for any sign of the blankets and such that either Tarkus or Cynthia had been using. Upon coming up empty handed, he frowns. "We should have some spares in the storage room downstairs." he says,

adjusting the clothes draped over his shoulder, "Give me a second and I'll bring them up." His gaze moves over to Va'ynna, following her attention over to the screen. "That asari is cobalt." he says matter-of-factly with a confident nod as he points to the photo she happened to be studying.

Va'ynna tilts her head. "I... uh, noticed," she says, but a smile does creep up. "Did... Victoria say anything about her? I know she is a guest at the Miner's Respite." She looks over the other pictures quickly. "I haven't seen any of the... others, though. Except, you know..." Her gaze lingers on the armored batarian for a few seconds. She takes a long sip of the hot drink, followed by a content sigh.

Halisi moves closer to the couch, taking a look at the screen in silence, arms crossing.

Jason gives a shake of his head. "She ran into a couple asari this morning when she was looking for you. One of them we ran into when we found you. I don't know about the other... When she gets back we can ask her if she recognizes this one." he says with a nod towards the screen. "Either way, I'll look into it. See if she knows anything." he offers, trying to comfort Va'ynna with a smile. "Just sit tight. I'll be right back with

those blankets." he adds, turning back towards the door.

Va'ynna nods slightly. "Could that... be my omni-tool?" she asks, looking at another picture. "I... I was trying to call Victoria when I saw... the sky-car set down, but one of them ripped it out of my pocket and... threw it aside."

Halisi listens to Va'ynna's questions, but can, of course, offer nothing in the way of answers to the asari's loud wondering.

Jason nods as he begins to exit the room. "All they found were a few pieces of the casing, though." he says as he steps through the doors, "We'll see what Mendez and Sioria find. Hopefully they can come up with your omni-tool during their sweep of the building." he adds, stopping in place to glance back at Va'ynna as he speaks. Once finished he continues on his way.

Va'ynna frowns. "I... did hear a salarian voice... in the building," she says. "So, they could have come back to pick it up later, I suppose." She takes another long sip of the cup, but she has not yet touched the candy bar.

Halisi remains silent, moving around the couch to retrieve her satchel, and then looking over her omni-tool scan results again while listening to the two of them talk.

Jason's heavy boots can be heard for a few moments longer as he continues down the hall, the sound fading to silence once he reaches the stairs.
