A sky car sets down on the parking lot behind the Miner's Respite just as Victoria meets up with her people, and an asari steps out. She's of sky-blue skin with faint black markings, and is wearing a long red coat. There is a Carnifex holstered to her hip. She starts walking along the street towards the entrance, not paying any attention to the gathering ship crew.

Victoria looks at the new arrival as she approaches the Respite, she also notices the Carnifex holstered to her hip. Vicky tells her crew to remain put for a few moments and she begins to move to intercept the asari. "Excuse me, miss."

She doesn't stop. "I'm busy," she says as she walks around her and continues on her way.

Victoria continues to block the asari's path "And I'm busy looking for a lost person." She states with a frustrated tone.

"Well, I hope you find this person," she says, "but I can't help you, so move it." She tries walking past her again

Victoria blocks her again "You have not even heard her description." Her frustration was getting even more clearer. "Tall, purple skinned asari. She works here. Have you seen her?" She will actively block the asari until she has an answer.

She groans. "Yeah, yeah, of course I've seen her here before," she says. "but I just got out of bed, and you're standing between me and my morning coffee. So get the fuck out of my way." She sidesteps in the other direction, and attempts to pass her.

Victoria steps out of the asari's way with a snarl and goes back to her crew. "Alright, lets start looking. Spilt up and stay in contact." Still visibly annoyed.

She sighs and continues towards the entrance. "What a bitch," she mutter to herself probably a bit too soon.

Victoria just hearing the asari's words, she bites her bottom lip in an attempt to keep her anger in check.

She enters the Respite and walks towards the counter, but it's not possible to hear what she's saying from outside. There is nobody else inside the green sky-car.

Victoria stays behind as her crew begin to split up to search the town. She decides to take Va'ynna's route one last time to see if there was possibly anything that she had dropped or any evidence of her whereabouts.

Between the dark cloudy morning and the recent snow covering the ground, the search doesn't turn up anything that Victoria hasn't seen before. A human male in a full suit of armor (including helmet) and an Avenger walks by her. He has a band around his arm to signify that he's with the militia.

The Redrock shuttle slowly descends to the ground just outside of the convenience store. As the doors slide open, Mendez hops out dressed in his hardsuit sans helmet. His shotgun is holstered on his back and he starts towards the store's front door, leaving large footprints in the snow.

Victoria is seen running a hand through her hair with a visibly annoyed look on her face. She turns to see the Redrock shuttle arrive and Mendez hopping out of it, she approached the man "Hey Mendez, you here to help?" Her mood seems to has now began to light up with what looks like Redrock assistance.

Mendez glances to the side, offering a nod when he notices Victoria. "The bartender?" he asks plainly, "Wolfe sent me to see what I could dig up. Said she's only been missing for an hour, though. Any specific reason we're not just treating this like someone skipped out on work and shut off their omni-tool?"

Victoria nods "Because this is something she has never done anything like this before." She states in a rather annoyed tone.

Mendez continues towards the front door. "First time for everything." he says. "You have any leads we should be following?" he asks, "I'm flying blind here. Just asking around and seeing if anyone has come across her. Figured I should check and see if any places along the route Wolfe gave me have some street-facing surveillance."

Victoria shakes her head "No, I am flying blind as well. Plus the main reason I am worried is that she told no one what she is doing. Not me, not her mother or boss."

The small convenience store is open in all but 5 hours of the night according to the small sign on the door. The selection is not impressive, and the prices aren't too competitive with the larger stores further into the town. They have some things to drink, some breakfast supplies, snacks, an arbitrary selection of cleaning supplies and frozen meals. There's only one person currently there, and she is standing behind the desk. She is a

pale blonde-haired human woman in her mid-twenties, and she wears a red shirt with the store's logo on it and simple blue jeans. Barely visible from the other side of the counter is a holstered M-3 Predator. The desk has a self-checkout system.

Mendez gives a shrug as he pushes through the front door. "And I take it that's unusual for her?" he asks, his voice deep and monotone, "Eh. You don't have to convince me. If Wolfe thinks this is worth looking into, I'll do what I can." He starts straight towards the front counter, grabbing a bag of poofy cheese snacks along the way. He tosses them up onto the counter and removes his credit chit, giving the woman behind the desk a nod in

greeting. "We're looking for a friend." he says to her as he begins to check out, slotting his chit through the machine, "Asari. Didn't make it to work this morning. You didn't happen to see anything out of the ordinary outside your store sometime in the past hour or so, did you?"

Victoria nods at Mendez and lets him handle this one. As it seems that almost anyone Vicky talked to seemed to have nothing to say.

She glances at the terminal while he checks out. "I did hear a scuffle outside while I was changing in the back room," she says, "but I only saw a car take off when I got out here."

Mendez sighs, giving a glance over at Victoria as he stuffs his bag of snacks under his arm and straightens up his posture. "I'm aware that this might be asking a lot, but I work for an agency here in town. Redrock." he explains, "My employers are worried that something may have happened to her. Does this building have security cameras? Something that may have caught the-... 'scuffle'?"

Victoria looks worried after hearing that there was a scuffle outside and a car leaving. "Did you happen to see what the car looked like?"

The woman gestures to a small camera dome in the roof, in the the middle of the store. "It's got a bad view of the street, but I'll check," she says. "Quarter past six," she mutters to herself as she taps on the terminal. She glances at Victoria while she plays back the footage in reverse at 10x speed. "It couldn't tell, but it was definitely not a bright color."

Mendez remains silent and steps to the side of the woman to get a look at the terminal as he watches and waits for anything to stand out to him or any sign of Va'ynna. "We appreciate it." he says plainly.

Victoria moves to watch the terminal as the video plays, hoping to see signs of Va'ynna.

She stops the footages and plays it at normal speed. What comes into view on the feed is a batarian in a green suit of armor sans helmet standing guard with a Katana shotgun, watching towards the east. One moment later a small black object can be seen being thrown past the window from some point off the left bound of the camera's field of vision.

Mendez glances at the woman, pointing a finger towards the batarian. "Recognize the batarian?" he asks plainly before turning his attention back to the terminal to see what happens next.

Victoria looks at the camera and then to the direction that a mall black object was thrown. "I'm going to see what they tossed." She makers her way out of the building and tries to trace the rough landing of the object.

The woman shakes her head. "I haven't," she says. "The militia don't need to deploy sharpshooters all that often." The footage continues with the batarian retreating off to the left. Just five seconds later, a sky-car passes the camera's field of vision left to right and she stops it. It's of a dark green color, but the occupants can't be seen through it. A thin layer of snow has covered the landing spot the trajectory on the feed

implies.

Mendez shifts his weight as he continues to watch, passing a brief nod in Victoria's direction as she makes her way out of the building. "What about the armor colors? They mean anything to you? See any crews around wearing similar colors lately?" he asks as he studies the video feed.

The footage doesn't show anything interesting for the next short while. "Nope," she says. "Mercs are a dime a dozen out here, so I wouldn't put too much weight on the color of their suits. Just look at your people."

Victoria looks into the store to see if the sights are on her. She started to moves towards the direction were the object was thrown.

Still snow. It was snowing for a while this morning, after all, even while Victoria was out and about.

Mendez raises an eyebrow. "The difference is that 'my people' aren't running around town stirring up shit." he says plainly. He gives a nod to the terminal. "Mind if I take a copy of the footage? Could be useful."

Victoria tries to softly brush some of the snow away with her feet as she walks along, to see if she comes across the object

She holds out a hand. "Easy, big guy, you're putting words in my mouth," she says, "I meant that your agency has suits of many different colors, and that these people might too." She taps on the terminal to start sending the footage over, starting from what she first showed them until half an hour later. While she does, the video feed shows a salarian in red armor running over to outside the window to pick something up off the ground.

Victoria finds three black plastic pieces with a rough texture on one side. Put together, It's flat aside from an edge that curls upwards before where it broke off. It looks like a part of an omni-tool, but there is no labels on either of the pieces.

Mendez taps at his own omni-tool to receive the footage before continuing to watch the feed. He grunts a response to the woman, unable to really argue her point as his armor is quite distinct from the rest of Redrock's. Besides, he already has an idea of who they might be. Or at least who they're connected to. "I appreciate the cooperation." he says. Perhaps a non-apology for jumping the gun on what he thought she was trying to imply.

Victoria collects the pieces and it takes her sometime before she figures out what they are a part of. "Fuck!" She screams and starts kicking the snow around here. If anyone can see her face, it would show how furious she is.

The snow around is kicked up along with stray pieces of gravel. It does not reveal any more pieces or other clues.

"No problem," she says, putting on a polite smile. "Just pretend this didn't happen if you happen to see my employer."

Mendez gives a single nod, no sign of a smile anywhere to be seen. "I can do that." he says simply as he adjusts the bag of cheesie poofs under his arm. "If you remember anything else that might be useful, contact us, alright? Redrock Agency." he repeats the name, hoping she'll commit it to memory and follow up if anything else happens to come to her.

The employee nods, but she doesn't say anything else. She taps on the terminal to stop video feed playback and resumes working.

Victoria continues kicking up the snow up in a fit of anger, while holding onto the three pieces "God fucking dammit." If her fit was not clear enough, her face showed her anger.
