The rest of the party didn't last a whole lot longer. When it was clear that the liklihood of Jason remaining vertical for much longer was in question, Gage made the executive decision to give Jasper a call, as was the initial plan, to swing by with the shuttle to bring everyone home. Lots of hugs and drunken heartfelt goodbyes abound from Jason as the guests were dropped off and he was safely shouldered- yet again- into Redrock HQ by Gage.

Shane- being the dog that he is- decided to remain at the club to try and further push his luck with Elena.

Elena has her back against the bar when Shane returns, elbows on the counter and beer bottle dangling from the fingertips of her left hand - it would seem she doesn't trust the cybernetic hand with such a precarious grip. She tilts her head as she studies him, an almost thoughtful look on her face despite the haze of alcohol. "Party over?" she calls out once he's within hearing range over the music.

Shane gives a shrug of his shoulders, casting a brief glance over the dance floor as he nears Elena. "Looks like it. Guest of honor had a little too much to drink so I guess it was time to call it." he says, taking a position beside the woman and signalling the bartender for another beer. "I've still got a bit more fight left in me though." he adds with a grin.

Elena shoots a glance at the beer bottle it is placed by Shane. "Mm... think I'm all danced out." she comments, shuffling her own beer properly into her hand with a flick of her fingertips. She raises the bottle to her lips for a sip, looking around the club and a few passing patrons before going back to Shane, a small grin tugging at one corner of her mouth.

Shane glances down to his drink, giving a small chuckle at her comment before he takes a sip. "That so?" he asks as he sets the drink back down. "Wouldn't have figured you to be the type to throw in the towel so early!" he teases, that charming smile making it's return as he makes a gesture to look at his non-existant watch, "It's only-... what? One? Almost two? The nights just getting started."

Elena gives a shrug, more with her hands than her shoulders as she's still leaning back on her elbows. "Twenty-five hour days on this rock. Además... didn't say I was 'throwing in the towel'." Her head turns back to looking out towards the dance floor and she sips her beer again, but another glance goes Shane's way.

Shane turns in place, taking a similar stance to Elena as he leans his weight back on his elbows. "Okay then, Elena." he says, putting a playful- if poorly attempted- Spanish accent on as he says her name. "Guessing you know this 'rock' better than I do. So tell me. Two attractive, energetic people looking to have a good time." he continues, giving her the once over through his disarmingly charming smile. "What are our options?"

Elena lets out an amused snort at his questionable attempt at her name, grinning and looking down the mouth of her beer bottle as she listens to what he has to say. "No sé." she says, tilting her head to look him over again. "Guess that depends. You staying near here?" she asks with a questioning look, her grin still remaining. She shifts to free up her arms, crossing them over her chest and briefly looking over what

little beer she has left in her bottle.

Shane chuckles to himself, giving a brief shake of his head but soon enough it turns into a nod. It's not often he crosses someone quite as transparent as himself. He casts a glance in the general direction of the door with a nod, "Just missed the ride, but yeah. Not too far of a walk. Why?" he asks, his grin only widening, "You inviting yourself over?"

Elena makes a show of considering the question, giving another small shrug. "I was thinking I might, if there are no objections..." she says, lifting her bottle to claim the last of its contents. It seems clear she has no compunctions about being straightforward. "If not... qué pena, but no hard feelings." she adds, shifting to her left side and leaning against the bar again, mirroring his grin as she continues her visual

appraisal.

Shane sucks in his lips and a few slow nods follow, but he doesn't outright answer. Instead, he takes a moment to set his beer aside and pulls out his omni-tool. After a few seconds of transferring some funds onto a credit chit, he tucks the omni-tool back into his pocket and holds the chit between two fingers, raising it to get the attention of the bartender. Once he has her attention, he slides the credit chit- containing enough to cover

his tab as well as a generous tip- across to the other side of the counter and leaves it to be collected. Beer in-hand once again, he looks to Elena and gives a single nod in the direction of the exit as he begins to lead the way out.

Elena drops her empty bottle on the counter, having already paid for her drinks, and pushes off from the bar with snicker before following Shane towards the exit. As they reach the coat room she collects her jacket - a desert brown military that looks sturdy, but hardly well-suited for the cold winter of Freedom Falls. She also collects a pocket knife, and the distinctive box of metal and polymer that is a collapsed

Carnifex. She discreetly slips it into the inner pocket of her jacket, but makes no attempt to actually hide the weapon from Shane.

Shane's collected posessions consist of a well-maintained Phalanx that's shined and polished to perfection despite the scrapes and scratches present all over the sidearm from a career of use. Given his attire for the night, the Phalanx is tucked into the back of his pants in place of his button-up shirt which he then drapes over it in a half-assed attempt at concealing it. Having been forewarned about the weather by Jason before their

arrival, Shane came prepared and- ever the suave gentleman- offers his thick winter jacket to Elena before they step out into the cold.

(*military jacket)

Elena briefly considers waving the gesture off, but a gust of biting cold air on skin still moist with sweat as the outer door opens causes her to reconsider. "You're better prepared than me." she comments, a shiver running through her body when they step outside. "Didn't know it was winter." As she wraps the jacket around herself to ward off the cold it occurs to her to add a slightly stuttered "Gracias.", immediately

followed by "Fuck it's cold."

Shane continues his chivalrous nature- or at least his chivalrous act- by helping Elena into the jacket. "Looks good on you." he decides with a cocky grin despite the fact that- given his size- it's likely that the multi-pocketed jacket is quite a few sizes too large. He acknowledges the gust of wind with a roll of his shoulders as he tucks his hands into his pockets. Given her comment, it's not hard to figure out that she hasn't been on

Aite long. "Yeah. Might wanna consider investing in some heavier hardware before you freeze your ass off." he offers as he begins to lead the way towards the apartment, making sure to keep a steady, slow pace to remain at her side as they walk. "How long have you been kicking around here, anyway?"

Elena snorts as he comments on the jacket, an amused smirk briefly crossing her face. She shakes her head as they walk. "Couple of days. Not gonna be staying long. Our ship just landed for repair and resupply." she explains.

Shane continues along, keeping his gaze divided between watching where he's going and looking to Elena so she knows he's paying attention to her. His smile widens as she mentions not being around long. Either it's just earnest conversation, or a non-chalante advanced tactic that Shane himself has employed many times in the past: Let it slip out casually that you're not looking for anything long term so it alleviates the burn when 'I'll

give you a call sometime' becomes the last words exchanged. "Our ship?" he asks, assuming the implication is she's part of a crew, "What happened to that whole 'boots on the ground' bullshit?" he teases.

Elena chuckles as she's called out, nodding a few times. "Remembered that, huh? Yeah, it wasn't my first choice, trust me. But it's a good gig. Good crew. Most of my work is groundside anyway." She shoves her hands into the pockets of the jacket, quite glad to have it as another bitter wind flies past them, kicking up a swirl of powdery snow from the street.

Shane clenches his teeth as the cold wind blows through. He lowers his head momentarily, shielding himself behind his broad shoulders. "Yeah? What kind of work?" he asks, spitting it out in the way one does when they're mostly keeping their mouth moving to keep their mind off of the chill settling in. "Security?" He wordlessly gestures across the street and continues on in that direction.

Elena follows as Shane crosses the street, glancing around briefly as one might when used to larger, busier streets. "Sometimes. Usually field tech. I was a combat engineer." Her own chatting is much the same, keeping her mind of the cold, despite being considerably more shielded from it, and just passing the time as they walk.

Shane casts a glance Elena's way, that shit-eating grin tugging at his lips once more. "No shit?" he asks, seemingly not having expected that. "Well damn. Beauty and brains." he comments aloud, never one to miss the chance to get his charm on if the opportunity presents itself.
