Zaylus makes it back to the shuttle without incident and begins helping the captives into the shuttle.

Mendez continues down the hall leading out of the facility. A pained groan escapes him as the struggle of keeping his arm raised to keep his shotgun up causes his wound to split a bit more.

Jason reholsters his Phalanx and takes a couple deep breaths. "How bad is it?" he asks, nodding towards the blood seeping from Renala's elbow.

Renala frowns, wincing as she removes the armor plates to get to it. "I have no idea," she says. "Hurts like hell, though." There's quite a bit of blood seeping out of the wound still, so the chance it hit a vital blood vessel is there. "Could you please help me?" she asks. She holds the medi-gel container in her right hand, holding her left hand still as moving it is extremely painful. The wound is on the side of the elbo, the cut streching slightly past the middle of the side opposite the elbow-bone.

Kim shepherds the slaves out of the facility before activating her comms. "Hey, you guys okay down there? We're just outside the facility up here."

Jason reaches back and holsters his Revenant as he approaches the asari. "Walkin' on sunshine, Kim." he says over comms as he reaches out for the medi-gel container, "We found four more prisoners down here. That brings our total number up to eleven. Judging by what one of the captives told us, it looks like we're only missing one."

The asari captive slowly approaches the bars and grasps one with each hand. "She... Didn't make it." she says before pointing weakly towards the storage chest against the far wall.

Renala drops her own container on the table and carefully turns to face Jason, making sure to not move her left arm. There is a slight regular spurting to the bleeding, and the amount that's covering her arm after the elbow already makes Renala look incrediby worried.

Maria doesn't seem to approve of the asari prisoner getting so close to the bars. She tightens her grip of the pistol, which is still pointed at the floor.

Jason glances in the direction indicated by the asari and sighs. "Scratch that." he relays over comms, "We're just about done here. We'll be up soon." He looks over the cannister for a moment. Holding Renala by the wrist, he begins applying it generously to the wound. "You're gonna need to get this taken care of when we get back." he says, "You're bleedin' like a stuck pig."

Renala winces as he applies the medi-gel to her wound, a pained groan escaping her. Her breathing slows down as the anaesthetic effects starts working. "Thank you," she says. "And I will."

Jason tucks the cannister away with a sigh and glances over at the prisoners. "You know how to use that?" he asks, nodding towards the pistol in Maria's hand, "Or was he just unlucky?" he adds, indicating the turian on the floor.

Maria looks at Jason and states plainly: "I can use it."

Renala picks up her medi-gel container and puts it back on her armor. She also picks up her Locust, holding it aimed down as she turns towards the prisoners. She remains quiet, though.

Jason nods and moves over to the cell door. He tugs on it and examines the locking mechanism. "Check him for a key." he says, nodding towards the human. He takes a knee and begins rummaging through the turian's hardsuit.

Renala holsters her Locust and makes her way over to the human, crouching down as she starts checking his pockets for a key.

The human has a low-tech key in his pocket as well as a small bottle of pills.

Jason retrieves a thermal clip from the turian and approaches the bars. He makes eye contact with Maria as he slides the clip between the bars. "Might need this..." he says, "Just... Trust us, we're here to get you out."

Renala takes the key, ignoring the pill bottle entirely. "Found it," she says as she stands up and approaches the cell door lock, glancing down at the key. "Maybe we should make sure our way out is clear before bringing them with us?"

Maria remains still for a brief moment, as if pondering something. She then grabs the thermal clip without saying anything, keeping it in her left hand while the gun is in her right.

Jason nods at Renala. "Yeah... Besides, I meant what I said. We're not leaving until this place is a crater." he says, "It's a mine, so they've gotta have some heavy duty equipment around here somewhere. If we can get our hands on some high-grade explosives, we could bring this whole place down on top of them." he continues, glancing between Renala and Maria, "Any idea where they'd keep that stuff?"

Kim deactivates her comms and stays at the back of the pack to make sure everything goes well as they move towards the shuttle. "We're nearly there, guys. Just hold on a little longer," she states with forced calmness despite her continued awareness of her surroundings.

Renala shakes her head. "No, afraid not," she says. "I was tending to one of the wounded while the rest went off to search for our gear. If you could call Steve, he might know."

Let us out.

Maria speaks with an oddly calm tone and remains where she is.

Jason raises an eyebrow at Renala, "Steve?" he asks before Maria chimes in. "We're gonna." he says, turning to face the cell, "I give you my word. Just let us make sure it's safe first, okay? Do you have any idea where they keep the mining equipment?"

Maria seems to be struggling to remain calm at the though of not being let out right away. She glances at the other slave briefly before nodding. "I can show you. Just open the door."

Renala holds up the key next to the door, glancing at Jason. "Are you sure it's a good idea?" she asks, looking at Maria. "There are probably more of them down here and on the top level."

Mendez continues towards the shuttle as the group reaches the bottom of the path. "Get in." he says flatly as he takes a position beside the shuttle door, watching cautiously back towards the path.

Jason shakes his head, "Of course it's not a good idea," he sighs, "but we can't just run around this place blind." He looks towards the captives once again, resting his gaze on Maria, "You stay behind us, okay? We run into more of them and I want you to keep your head down. Don't use that.." he nods towards the gun, "...Unless you absolutely have to."

Maria nods at Jason, her face taking on a rather menacing expression at the mention of combat. She glances at the tunnel leading upwards.

Renala nods at Jason and starts inserting the key into the lock, once the wrong way before doing it right. She turns it and looks over the prisoners, checking if anyone has a 'anti-biotic' collar.

The asari is the only one with a collar. She, along with the two human males begin to file behind Maria.

Renala enables her omni-tool as she steps aside, letting the prisoners leave. "Hey, let me take a look at that collar," she offers, looking at the asari.

Kim steps up to take the other side of the shuttle door with her gun lowered, then pulls it open. "Here's our stop, ladies and gentlemen. Find a seat and get comfortable."

Maria starts moving out of the cell and seems focused on the doorway, but suddenly something seems to snap inside her as she tries to shove Renala against the wall with her left arm while pressing the gun against her head with a vicious stare.

Zaylus reaches out from the shuttle to help the new arrivals climb onboard.

Renala raises her brows as she's caught off-guard, staggeting a little. She tires to push her back, though. "What the fuck is wrong with you?!"

The shuttle is getting fairly close to being packed to capacity.

Maria stumbles slightly but keeps her gun aimed at Renala. "YOU LEFT ME IN THIS HELLHOLE, YOU BITCH!" she blurts out as loudly as she can muster.

Jason steps in and reaches around the woman from behind with one hand, grasping around her waist. With his other hand he attempts to control Maria's wrist and wrest the pistol from her hands, "Drop it!" he demands, "We're here to help! We're going to get you out of here!"

I didn't find you!

Maria snaps back with her right elbow in an attempt to hit Jason in the face. "You have any idea what it's been like in here, huh?! You understand what you did?!" If possible, she will keep the gun aimed at Renala.

Renala sighs. "I do," she says, "but do you realize what condition we were in? We would have been dead if we went searching!"

The other captives have retreated back against the stone wall in fear as the fighting began.

Jason is caught squarely in the nose, causing him to stumble backwards somewhat. A small dribble of blood runs from his nose. He releases his grip on the woman's wrist. Reaching down, he draws his own Phalanx and presses it to the back of the woman's head. "Drop. The weapon." he orders. "I don't know what's going on here, but I'm not going to let you hurt a member of my team." he pauses fora moment before adding, "Don't make me do this."

The asari tentatively moves closer to the struggle. "Maria..." she says softly, "Don't do this. Please." she pleads, "This is our chance to go home."

Maria glares at Renala for a slightly unnerving amount of time before slowly lowering the gun, her rage subsiding along with it. When her arm is fully lowered she remains still, her gaze falling.

Renala sighs. "One thing though, once we're out," she begins, looking Maria in the eyes, "can we put this behind us? I did nothing wrong, and neither did the rest of us. You're kidding yourself if you think you wouldn't have done the same."

Maria doesn't answer Renala.

Well, I guess not, then. I'm not going to let you come with us if I can expect a knife in my back tomorrow.

Jason takes a step back, keeping his weapon trained on the woman. "There ya go. Hand over the weapon, Maria." he says, breathing a sigh of relief. Upon hearing Renala he raises an eyebrow, looking uncomfortable with her statement. "Renala..." he sighs.

Renala frowns. "You're the boss, Jason, up to you," she says, "but I'm not happy about being blamed for this like I was fucking running it."

Maria thinks in silence for a moment and glances at the other slaves before speaking again: "No. I'm keeping the gun. Let's just get the hell out of here."

Jason glances between Renala and the back of Maria's head. "I don't know the whole story here, Maria... It's obvious you two have shit to work out. But whatever happened, Renala is here now. You don't need to be here any longer..." he says, attempting to calm the woman down, "We get you out of here, and you leave the past in the past... Right?" He makes no attempt at lowering his weapon.

Maria looks at Renala as she replies to Jason. "I just want to get out of here. That's it." She seems sincere, but it's rather hard to tell.

Kim stays next to the shuttle entrance as a lookout.

Renala nods. "And we're going to get you out of here," she says. "I just don't want me, the others from that team to regret that tomorrow. We weren't equipped for a firefight, less so after they took our gear."

Jason looks towards Renala. The look on his face should make it clear what his opinion is. "Renala? I'm not going to make a choice that might put your life in jeopardy. You know where I stand." he sighs, lowering his weapon somewhat, "You two willing to play nice?"

Maria keeps looking at Renala as if waiting for her to say something.

Renala sighs. "For what it means, Maria, I'm sorry," she says. "All we saw was that the leader wanted you, but when we found his room, he wasn't there... and neither was you."

Maria lets out a frustrated sigh and looks at the exit. "Let's just get out of here. They could storm in here at any moment."

Jason glances towards the stairs leading up. "We all done hugging it out?" he asks, "We need to get moving."

Renala nods, "I am." She looks over at the asari. "I can help you with the collar," she offers again.

The asari finally steps out of the cell. She fidgets with her hands and gazes at the floor as she approaches Renala. "Thank you..." she says quietly. The two men follow her out.

Renala enables her omni-tool again and starts tapping on it, trying to access it like she did with her and Iressa's last time, and disable it if successful. She keeps quiet as she works on it, but do offer a tiny smile.

In much of the same fashion as before, the collar lets out a quick noise and opens up before falling to the ground. The asari quickly reaches up and begins rubbing at her neck. "I-..." she begins before simply repeating, "Thank you."

Maria moves up to the tunnel and aims her gun up it while waiting for the others.

Jason follows behind Maria. "What did I say?" he says as he swaps out his Phalanx for his Revenant, "Stay behind us!" he sighs, "Now where do they keep the mining gear?"

Renala lets her omni-tool's interface and pats her on the shoulder. "You're welcome," she says. "Now, stay in cover until we say it's clear." She walks over to Jason after that, taking out her submachine gun and swapping out the clip with her last full one.

The asari nods and follows Renala towards the stairs, but remains at the bottom with the other two captives.

There's a storage on this floor... but they might have moved the explosives to the armory after... last time.

The armory is on the third floor, through one of the doors from the central chamber... unless they moved that too.

Jason nods to himself, not bothering to ask for the long version of the obvious story behind her statement, "Okay, that's a start. Where is it on this floor?" he asks.

The storage is on this floor, accessed from the main chamber.

It's the door to your left as you climb up, if my memory serves me right.

Jason pushes past Maria as soon as she finishes speaking and leans out into the hall with his Revenant raised.

Renala remains behind both Maria and Jason, a shimmer forming around her as she prepares her biotics in case there's someone waiting outside.

Maria follows Jason up the stairs, gun at the ready.

Two slavers, a batarian and a genetically modified woman are slowly creeping towards the door Jason is at, mere feet away. They would be almost face-to-face with him as he leaned out. The batarian is wearing a red and black hardsuit and has an SMG raised up. The woman is wearing custom black, sleeveless armor, but no helmet. She has an Executioner raised in front of her.

(Enemy) ModifiedWoman grabs the Revenant with one hand, as firing from this distance would be sloppy and difficult, and jerks Jason towards her, attempting to both point the weapon away from herself, as well as swing him out of the doorway and against the hallway wall.

Batarian isn't quite so fast on his feet. Jason's appearance catches him off-guard, causing him to jerk back instinctively before attempting to sight in on the man with his SMG. By the time he has the human in his sights, he would be at risk of shooting his ally if he were to fire. Instead he refocuses his attention on the doorway, firing at anyone else if they exit through it.

Jason is jerked from the doorway by the woman's surprising strength, and hits the hard wall rather forcefully. He grips the weapon with both hands and attempts to drive a knee between himself and his attacker, using that leverage to pry his Revenant away from her.

Maria ducks in the tunnel as shots impact the wall - she seems quickly reminded of how vulnerable she is without any protective gear.

Renala walks past Maria, and starts walking up, walking along the wall to her left. She couldn't tell how many there were up there, and where they were.

(Enemy) Batarian strafes to his side, firing off short bursts into the tunnel as he crosses in front of it, hoping to catch whoever is inside with a hail of gunfire.

ModifiedWoman is knocked away by Jason's knee, but quickly raises her Executioner and squeezes off a sloppy shot at Jason.

Jason hurls himself to the ground as he rights his weapon and holds down the trigger, more worried about getting out of the line of fire than accurately returning fire.

Maria is just about to start moving when the batarian comes into view. Instead she just ducks again, hoping the asari's shielding will protect her.

Renala takes quite a few of the shots, enough to take her shields down entirely. She raises her Locust as she takes a few more steps, firing a 6-shot burst at the batarian as Jason is on the ground.

(Enemy) Batarian 's shields flicker and spark. The final shot catches his armor, causing him to stumble backward. Fully committed to bringing the asari down, he takes aim and readies to send another volley of rounds towards the tunnel.

ModifiedWoman is caught in Jason's hail of gunfire. She attempts to dodge, but the Revenant lays down far too many rounds too quickly for her to escape. Within moments, she collapses to the ground, causing the Executioner to go skittering across the ground towards the tunnel.

Maria pops up being Renala and tries to fire off a couple of shots at the batarian, her aim impeded by having to avoid hitting the asari.

Renala fires off another burst, four shots, at the batarian as he gets ready to fire on her.

(Enemy) Batarian manages to squeeze off a short burst of three shots, quite inaccurately, towards the pair in the tunnel as their combined fire puts him down.

Jason quickly scampers to his feet and takes aim at the batarian, but realizes he's already been handled. "We good?" he shouts, spinning to aim back towards the central chamber in search of any more threats, "Anyone hit?"

Maria winces as a bullet grazes her left shoulder. She stumbles against the wall and exclaims. "Just a scratch!"

(Comms) We're loaded up and ready to get the hell out of here, Jason... But the shuttles pretty full.

(Comms) I hear ya. Hold on to 'yer butts, I'll be there in five.

Renala is hit by two of them, the first slowed enough to just bounch off her plates while the second hits her right leg. "Fuck," she mutters, standing in place. "Yeah, but I should be able to deal with it myself."

The three captives at the bottom of the stairs have once again huddled against the wall since the gunfire erupted.

The central chamber appears to be clear from where Jason is standing in the hall.

Jason stalks down the hall towards the circular room. "Looks like we're clear." he shouts, stopping at the doorway.

Maria pushes away from the wall and moves past Renala, ignoring her wound. Once she reaches the hall she follows Jason, gun raised.

Renala limps up the staircase, being careful not to put too much pressure on her right foot, and gets out of the way once she's there. She holsters the submachine gun and takes out her medi-gel dispenser, and starts removing the plate covering it.

From the doorway to the hall, Jason would be able to see that the central chamber is only inhabited by the two dead bodies. The two remaining doors, one to the right and one to the left of the groups current hallway, are both locked.

Jason steps through the doorway and sweeps back and forth with his Revenant. "You're up, Renala!" he shouts, seemingly not concerned about causing noise at this point. He raises his rifle to make sure nobody is visible from the ledge above.

Renala nods. "Just give me a moment," she says as she applies it to the wound, letting a few seconds pass before the aenesthetic effects kick in. She puts the plate back and starts walking slowly towards the doow, wincing a little with every step of her right foot.

Jason keeps his rifle up and remains close to the wall. He gives a glance in Renala's direction. "You sure you're alright?" he asks with a look of concern.

Maria glances at the slaver weapons while in the hallway, but decides she's better off with the Predator.

Renala nods. "Yeah, I'm gonna be fine," she says, "you wouldn't beleive how much a pain in the ass this was before you came along with your awesome medi-gel." She chuckles a bit before getting to work on the door.

As usual, Renala would be able to make short work of the door's security. The panel quickly flickers red a few times before turning green.

Maria enters the central chamber and looks up with her gun raised, not taking any chances.

Jason has no idea what Renala is talking about, and just chalks it up to the rantings of a medi-gel high.

Yeah... R-... Right...

Renala tilts her head. "Huh?" she mutters, unsure of why Jason's reacting like that. She taps on the door's interface, taking a step back as well as raising her gun.

Jason remains near the wall, watching the last remaining closed door with his weapon raised.

The door slides open to reveal a small room with a handful of crates. A shelving unit lines the wall, stocked with a plethora of mining equipment, including a row of explosive charges, each packed with their own detonator.

Renala looks around the visible parts of the room before nodding to herself. "Looks clear," she says, though the asari doesn't step inside.

Maria moves up to the door and takes a look. She points at the explosives. "Those." Drops of blood have started to roll down her injured arm. It doesn't seem like she's noticed though.

Jason slowly backs towards the door as he hears Renala. He casts a quick glance inside before returning to keeping eye on the other closed door. Suddenly, his eyes go wide as he realizes what he just looked upon. "This! Is! What! I'm! Talking! About!" he chants, "Fuck this place!" He lowers his rifle and steps inside. As he grabs one of the charges, a smile crosses his lips. He turns and underhands it towards Renala without a worry in the world that it might explode.

Renala looks at Maria, with a tilted head. "You're bleeding," she states as she produces her medi-gel container, holding it out towards her. She takes the charge Jason gave her, though. "Well, looks like we'll have enough to level this place."

Maria seems puzzled by Renala's statement, but she then looks at her arm and realises what she's talking about. She grabs the medi-gel canister with a nod and applies a little bit over the small wound before handing it back to Renala.

Jason nods and holsters his Revenant on his back. He grabs a couple of charges and proceeds to cross the central chamber. He removes the detonator from one and places it in the compartment on his hardsuit before planting the charge on the unopened door. "Few of these upstairs and there'll be nothing left of this shithole."

Maria stars looking around, trying to figure out where the group came from. "Good. Blow these fuckers to hell."

(Comms) Ready and waiting, Jay.

Renala takes it back after the woman is finished and puts it back in the pouch on her suit. She makes her way across the room. "Maybe we should get the captives out before we plan how to best destroy this place."

Jason shakes his head. "I don't know about you, but I don't plan on making another trip in here. One was enough for me. I say we set a few charges down here... Set a few in the chamber upstairs, and get the fuck out of here." he says as he treks back towards the hallway leading to the cells. He begins repeating the process, planting the other charge on the hallway wall.

Maria starts moving towards the cell area. "I'll get them out."

Renala returns to the room and grabs another charge, making her way over to the ladder, awkawrdly climbing up as she holds the charges. Due to the aenesthetic effects of the medi-gel, she can walk normally now with only slight pain.

Jason returns to the storage room and grabs a couple more packs of charges, passing Maria with a nod as he does.

The captives are still anxiously awaiting at the bottom of the stairs.

Maria moves down the stairs and into the cell, looking over the other slaves. "Come on, let's get out of here." She can't help but smile slightly as she utters those words.

The asari nods at Maria with equal enthusiasm and begins leading the slaves up the staircase. "Goddess..." she says, "I never thought I'd see this day."

Renala reaches the top of the ladder. She plants on charge on one of the doors before taking the other with her as she starts climbing the second ladder.

Maria makes sure to stay ahead of the other slaves, gun raised. Once she reaches the central chamber she looks up again. "Where's our exit?"

Jason stands near the ladder and points up. "Up the ladder. Door on your left." he says, "It'll take you outside to a path leading down the side of the cliff. We've got two shuttles at the bottom. Be careful."

Renala reaches atop the ladder and places the explosive just beside the hatch to the top floor before descending it. The charge she placed was on the door opposite to the one leading to the exit.

Maria nods and immediately starts climbing the ladder, having a bit of trouble since she's still holding the Predator pistol. Once she reaches the top she moves up to the door and opens it after checking that the other slaves are following.

Jason takes a quick walk to recheck the charges placed on the bottom floor before placing one final charge right at the foot of the ladder and ascending it with his final charge in hand.

Renala reaches the bottom of the ladder, now on the second floor. "Need any more charges up here?" she asks, "or anything else we could use?"

The captives continue to follow Maria, nervously glancing around as they're led through the facility.

Jason looks around and shakes his head. He holds up the charge in his hand and nods towards the exit. "I'll plant this one in the hallway on our way out, and we should be good. With the damage these'll do, I can't see whoever's left, if anyone, finding the effort to rebuild this place worth it." he says, "At least... I sure hope not."

Maria moves through the tunnel with her gun raised, eager to get out. She reaches the door at the end of the tunnel and opens it.

Renala nods. "I was considering grabbing the submachien gun that batarian had," she says, "but if you want to get out as soon as possible, I'll leave it."

Jason casts one more glance towards the exit and bites his lower lip. "No... It's not like we're being paid for this shit." he says, "Might as well get something out of it."

Maria and the rest of the slaves would be able to travel down the mountain path unchallenged.

Maria grins widely as she feels the breeze. She steps out and looks out at the river for a moment before focusing and starting to lead the other slaves down the path towards the shuttles.

(Comms) We've got a group of four captives heading towards the shuttles. I don't want any accidents.

Understood. We'll start loading them into the rust bucket.

Renala nods, and makes her way back to the ladder, descending it rather quickly.

The asari's eyes well up with tears once again as she steps outside. "We're finally free..." one of the men mutters in disbelief.

Maria is coming down to the bottom of the path.

Jason sets the charges on the ground and follows behind Renala, giving a slight sigh as he returns to the lower level. "Let's make this quick." he says.

The two shuttles would be visible before they even reached the bottom.

Mendez moves towards the Redrock shuttle and motions for Maria.

Kim waves at the group from her place at the same place she was at before.

Renala reaches the bottom and makes her way over to the cell tunnel first, though does look around. If uninterrupted, she takes the batarian's SMG.

Maria stops and looks at the people at the bottom of the cliff, she steps aside and waits for the other slaves to get in, taking a moment to take in her surroundings meanwhile.

Jason unholsters his Revenant and follows Renala over. He retrieves the Executioner from the modified woman's corpse as well, figuring he might as well get in on a little looting action too.

Renala and Jason have successfully stolen from dead bodies. Proud of yourselves?

The slaves quickly move towards the shuttle and allow Mendez and Kim to help them inside.

Maria's visibility would be quite low due to the lack of light, but she'd be able to make out the river nearby as well as the vast expanse of forest beyond the shuttles.

Jason looks around uneasily for a moment before nodding back to the ladders. "We ready to get the fuck out of here now?" he asks as he holsters the Executioner on his other thigh.

Renala grabs the weapon and nods. "Yeah," she says. "Let's get out of here." She looks around the other bodies in the chamber, what kind of weapons they have.

Maria doesn't seem to mind, being happy to be outside. She remains outside the shuttle and glances at Kim and Mendez. "Why are you here? Who sent you?"

The batarian's SMG was totally a Punisher. The two bodies in the central chamber are both laying near Avengers.

Renala shrugs, not seeing any use for an assault rifle hershelf. She makes her way over to the ladder and starts climbing up.

Jason follows Renala up the ladder. "Look on the bright side of all this." he says, "At least you don't have to take a pay cut now."

Mendez glances at Kim then back at Maria. He frowns, seeming slightly offended by the woman's tone. "We're here to get you people out of here." he says plainly.

Kim shrugs, then nods towards Mendez. "That's about all we can tell you. If you want more than that, ask our boss when he gets back."

Renala nods, reaching the top of the ladder. "Yeah, it was a fucked up job," she says, "and... then there's Maria. I should warn Steve and Iressa."

Jason grunts as he reaches the top and pulls himself up. "What the fuck was all that about, anyways?" he asks as he scoops up the charges off the ground, "Things got pretty heated back there..."

Maria nods at Kim and then starts moving towards the other shuttle. "You got the rest of us out too?" She says before glancing in to the shuttle.

Mendez nods, but makes no attempt at providing details. "Relax. We've got this under control." he says.

Renala sighs. "We couldn't find her when getting out," she says. "As bad as it sounds, we had to leave without her. Well, I suppose she has a reason for being mad at me..." She starts walking towards the exit.

In the other shuttle is seven of her fellow captives, as well as Zaylus.

Maria nods at the others and then moves back to the shuttle she was instructed to get in, having a seat as close to the door as possible.

Jason follows Renala into the hallway and begins setting the charge. "I don't know the circumstances, Renala." he says as he fiddles with the explosive, "So there's not a whole lot for me to say. But-..." he begins with a sigh as he turns away from the set charges and continues down the hall, "I hope you're clear that we don't leave one another behind. That's not what we're trying to be about at Redrock... If one of us is cut, we all bleed." he repeats.

Renala nods. "I know the stakes on a job with you all," she says. "That job was just way more than we signed up for, and it was freelance."

Jason nods to himself. "I trust you, Renala... I'm just saying." he retorts as the pair make their way outside and start down the path.

(Comms) We're on our way down. Be ready to takeoff.

(Comms) We're good to go as soon as you two stop 'yer lollygaggin' and get down here.

Renala nods. "I know," she says, "but I'll always answer to you when on a job with the agency."

Jason chuckles and shakes his head. "I wouldn't openly admit that if I were you..." he says, "Because nobody in their right mind would listen to me."

The pair make it to the bottom of the path.

Mendez makes his way over to the non-deathtrap shuttle, calling out to Renala as he does. "Good to see you in one piece, princess."

Renala can't help but laugh. "And I woudln't openly admit that if I were you," she says, using his owrds. She looks over at the shuttles, waving at him. "You too, Mendez."

Mendez climbs into the shuttle, taking a seat amongst the captives.

Jason chuckles at Renala with a shake of his head as he makes his way over to the Redrock shuttle. He gives Kim a nod before hopping inside and taking a seat beside Maria.

Kim slips in behind Jason and takes whatever empty seat is left. "So that's it? We're done here?"

Jason nods to Kim. "Just about." he says as he retrieves one of the detonators from his hardsuit and passes it to Maria. "Would you like to do the honors?" he asks.

Renala steps into the shuttle and claims a seat of her own. She takes out her two detonators as well, and holds them out to Maria. "Don't do it before we're airborne, though."

Maria grins widely and grabs the detonators. "Gladly... wait-... huh? It's mining explosives, not some big-ass bomb."

Renala shrugs. "Well, if you say so," she says, "but a rockslide would be a boring way to get stranded."

Jasper's voice can be heard from the cockpit as the shuttle doors slide shut, "Hold on, folks, time to go home!" he says as the shuttle begins to lift off. A few moments later, the other shuttle follows suit.

Jason raises an eyebrow at Renala's statement. "Yeah.... No." he says flatly, "I'm not going through all that bullshit just to die to a rock."

Maria clearly doesn't want to miss out on seeing the exit tunnel collapse, and starts pressing detonator buttons as soon as the shuttle is a meter of the ground.

The loud blasts rip through the mine, one after another. Once the detonator for the side exit's hallway is pressed, large chunks of rock and metal erupt from the hall and send the front door shooting off the cliffside.

Holy shit on a stick!

Renala is watching it through the shuttle's viewport, grinning from ear to ear as she sees the destruction.

Maria lets out an unsettling laugh as the tunnel explodes, clearly not concerned at all by the debris.

Jason jumps to his feet and holds his hand up to the viewport, giving the middle finger to the large cliff. "Whoo! I soooo need to get me some of those!"

The shuttles make it back to Freedom Falls without incident, and lands beside the local clinic to drop off anyone needing medical attention.

Jason climbs out of the shuttle and begins assisting anyone that needs a hand.

Renala has been quiet for most of the trip. She stands up now that she's back, feeling a pain through her foot as she stands on it. Her elbow had a more generous dose of it and the effect has just started fading noticably. She starts walking of the shuttle, with a bit of a limp. Her Locust is holstered, but she's holding her other submatchinegun folded together in her hand.

Maria gets out of the shuttle and looks around at the town, clearly having some trouble getting used to not being in a mine. She smiles slightly. "Well... now it's just a matter of figuring out where the hell to go from here."

The captives from both shuttles begin climbing out and making their way towards the clinic, which would obviously be swamped by this many people.

Mendez hops off his shuttle and begins assisting people off.

Zaylus follows suit, assisting any of the captives that Mendez hasn't gotten to.

Jason smiles at Maria with a shrug. "You're free." he says, "Probably time you went home." He extends a hand towards Renala, offering his assistance as a grim look comes over his face. "I.. Hope you didn't have any pets." he says, passing a glance back towards Maria.

Yeah... no. No pets. Or, uh, home.

Shit... Where were you staying?

Mendez walks towards the clinic behind the others once everyone has been assisted. His movements are slow and sluggish, as the events of the night as well as his wound have worn him out.

Maria shrugs and watches the slaves walk to the clinic. "All over. Staying on the move is safer."

Renala takes Jason's hand and warps an arm around his waist to use his weight to support herself. "Thank you."

Jason gives Renala a nod and slowly moves towards the clinic. "Safer?" he asks as he passes Maria, "Safe from what?"

Kim steps out of the shuttle after everyone is out and glances around at the various people there. "If I was on the sidelines here, I'd wonder what the hell happened to cause this...," she mutters while shaking her head. After a moment, she raises her head and looks towards Jason. "Do you need me for anything else right away?"

A few staff members step outside and begin ushering people inside. One steps over to Renala and offers his assistance by taking Jason's place. "Let's get you inside." he says.

Maria moves her gaze to the other shuttle and gives a dismissive response. "Lots of dangerous people around."

Renala glances at Jason and loosens her hand around his waist.

Jason passes Renala off to the man and shakes his head at Kim, attempting to do multiple things at once. "No, no..." he says, "You're good to go." He folds his arms across his chest and looks towards Maria. "You're on the wrong planet, and in the wrong part of the galaxy if you're trying to avoid dangerous people, Maria." He fishes through a compartment in his hardsuit and produces a credit chit. He raises his arm and pokes at the orange interface that begins to glow. After a few moments, it dissipates and he passes the chit to Maria. "Look... It's not much, but it should be enough to get you a room down at the Respite, a nice meal, and a cheap pair of clothes."

(Enemy) Pilot hops out of the other shuttle and moseys over towards the others. "So... Wish I could say it's been fun and all but... Well, you just slaughtered pretty much everyone I know so... Guess I'll be taking off, huh?"

Maria eyes the credit chit reluctantly, but eventually takes it with a nod. "Tha-..." Her head turns as the pilot speaks. She freezes for a moment before raising the pistol still clutched in her hand and firing at the man.

(Enemy) Pilot having no armor whatsoever, nor any time to react, is shot dead.

Renala looks over her shoulder nervously at the gunshot, but is hurried inside by the person assisting her.

Jason reaches for the pistol, but is far too late. He stares at Maria in disbelief for a moment, the anger clear as day in his eyes. "Go." he says, not able to muster much else, "Now!" He takes a knee beside the pilot and grabs his hand. He gives a glance towards the clinic and begins shouting. "We need help! Hurry!"

Maria looks down at the man as she lowers her gun. There is no sign of sympathy in her face. "He was one of them." she states matter-of-factly.

Jason makes no attempt to look towards Maria. "It wasn't your place." he says, "I gave him my word." Finally he looks up at Maria. "Go." he repeats bluntly.

Well, I didn't.

Maria clearly couldn't care less. She puts the gun in the back of her tattered pants and heads off down the street.

A couple staff members rush out a few moments later, but the pilot is clearly dead as can be.

Kim sighs loudly as she looks disapprovingly towards Maria, but then walks off as she has nothing more to add to the scene.

Jason remains at the clinic for the rest of the night to make sure Mendez and Renala are alright. Their clinic fees would, of course, be paid by Redrock Agency. A shiny new Kodiak is placed in the Redrock shuttle bay.
