Renala holsters her weapon and nods. "Yeah," she says. "I hate this job..." She glances at the floor below before starting to make her way towards the door they first emerged into this room from.

Jason follows Renala towards the door, only raising his Revenant once he's reached the corridor.

Alex still following, while helping Jenya around.

Jenya is moving with Alex' help, mostly staring at the floor and grunting occasionally.

Renala reaches the doorway first, looking into the corridor with her weapon following her gaze.

Jason stands alongside Renala and waits for her to enter the door.

The maintenance corridor seems clear.

Renala steps into the corridor, aiming her weapon up at the ceiling as she does.

Jason sidesteps into the corridor after Renala, keeping his weapon pointed down as he follows her.

The corridor is empty.

Alex enters the corridor, apprehensively not wanting to get hit again.

Seems clear.

Renala starts making her way down the corridor, stopping at the door into the generator room. She enters, again aiming at the ceiling first before looking around the room.

Jenya has some trouble getting through the door with Alex, so she lets go of the human and walks on her own with some wincing.

There are no ceiling monsters, much to Renala's dismay.

Jason sighs as he follows Renala into the room. "Seems clear..." he repeats, "Let's not make that an ironic pair of last words."

Renala frowns. "Yeah," she says. "Those fuckers sure like getting the jump on us." She approaches the terminal, glancing around apprehensively.

Jason follows Renala to the terminal with a nod. He stays a few feet away and turns back to face the door. "Let's make this quick."

Alex takes Jenya's arm back over her shoulder, and smiles, trying to lighten the mood. "You ready to get out of here?"

Renala enables her comms. "Renala here," she begins. "We... lost Vaden." Two seconds of shaky breathing can be heard before she continues, "I'm powering on the doors. I'm hoping that won't be the flood gates for these fucking things, but... be ready." She taps on the terminal, entering the rerouting interface and enables the doors' power.

TERMINAL: DOORS ONLINE

The door in the hangar immediately closes, as do all other electronic doors, but they have green panels.

Jenya is about to respond to Alex when she winces in pain and falls away from the huamn, leaning against the walkway railing. She's coughing repeatedly, and the blue is starting to drain from her skin.

Steve raises his SMG towards the door before slowly lowering it. "Door just shut down here." he reports over comms, "But it seems to be unlocked. That you guys?"

Leah flinches and sights in on the door with her Mattock quickly. She takes a deep breath as she realizes what's happening.

(Comms) The terminal reported the doors came online. If they're unlocked... that's not good.

Alex sets her hand on Jenya's shoulder and rubs it lightly, "Come on, we're going to get out of here, and we're going to get you fixed up. We just got a little ways to go, okay? Let's go please."

(Comms) Shit... Alright, we'll keep our guard up.

Vaden, too... Soon there won't be any of us left...

Jason gives a nod to the asari. "Just means we need to get a move on." he says as he approaches the corridor once again.

The corridor is still empty.

Jason gives it a sweep anyways. He looks both ways, and towards the ceiling, before proceeding back to the room with the walkway.

Renala follows after Jason, aiming around as well.

Jason re-enters the walkway-room and stops a few steps in as he spots the asari leaning against the railing. "Jenya... Hang in there, we're gonna get you out of here."

Renala stares at the other asari for a few seconds, but refrains from commenting, though she looks incredibly worried.

Jenya is staring at the floor. She is quite clearly pained, a hand now reaching for her helmet as if trying to remove it, but fails. "No... not... no... not like this." She mumbles as she struggles with her helmet, no longer holding on to the railing.

Alex holds Jenya up, "C'mon we gotta get going. Please."

Jason takes a couple steps towards Jenya, "The doors are unlocked, Jenya... We just need to find that control center and we can send word for an extraction. Just-... Keep it together for a little longer."

Renala tilts her head. "What do you mean?" she says as she looks at Jenya. "I... fixed your wounds, didn't I?"

Jenya pushes away from Alex, and manages to get her helmet off. Only now would her sickly gray skin be visible to the others. She doubles over and starts to throw up a mix of purple blood and blue chunks, screaming in pain as she does.

Renala takes a step back. "No, no, no, no!" she says as she's at least able to guess what is happening. "Jenya..."

Alex is pushed away, and she takes a couple steps back, absolutely horrified.

Jason shuts his eyes and shakes his head. With trembling hands, he raises his Revenant. "Jenya... Don't let it take you." he pleads, "Just-... Hold on. We'll find a way to fix this..." He looks between Alex and Renala, almost as if expecting one of them to have an answer, "Don't make us do this..."

Jenya steadies herself and looks between the three. Her eyes seem to glaze over as she speaks, with comms active. "The gift of the Revelator cannot be refused." She states in an unsettlingly calm voice. Pained sounds follow as her jaw starts to unhinge, a trio of metal tubings forcing their way out of her mouth.

Renala takes a few steps back, but she can't bring herself to raise her weapon. "Jenya, please," she says. "Don't... do this."

Alex stays where she is, trying to comprehend what just happened. "J-jenya?"

Jason raises his weapon higher, training it on the asari. "Jenya! Get ahold of yourself! You can fight this! You have to!" he shouts.

Steve looks towards Leah with a confused expression. "Uhh... Come again?" he asks over comms.

Jenya lets out a metallic shriek and expels a biotic shockwave in all directions.

Leah gives Steve a shrug. "What's she talking about?" she asks.

Renala is pushed back by the shockwave, though manages to stay on her feet as she has already some distance from the asari. She reaises her weapon on her. "I don't want to do this, Jenya," she says followed by a shaky breath, her hand shaking as well.

Alex falls onto her hindquarters and just watches Jenya quietly.

Jason is tossed to the ground hard and sent skittering back. As he comes to a stop, he groans loudly and climbs to a knee. "Stop!" he calls out, "Jenya..."

Jenya 's gaze seems to look past the group, not even aknowledging them. Biotic energy swirls around before being expelled in a trio of warp bolts, one for each of them. She immediately follows up by charging at Alex, her face twisting and breaking to make room for the metal tubings that try to get through the human's armor.

Alex scrambles to get up, but is caught by Jenya, for yet another fun, horrifying experience.

Renala is staggered as the armor's own fields does the job of nullifying the warp bolt, and raises her weapon. "No," she says as she sees her charge at Alex and she runs about half the distance to her, and fires a 3-shot burst at the asari's center of mass; tears starting to trickle down her cheeks as she really hates doing this.

Jason 's shields begin to flicker brightly as they're overloaded. He shoulders his Revenant as Jenya begins to charge Alex and hesitates for a split second before firing eight rounds at the asari.

Jenya 's barrier absorbs the shots from Jason and Renala, managing to reach Alex and pin her down, metal tubes starting to move in to bury into the human's skin. The asari's gaze is distant, and her eyes are starting to glow a faint blue.

Renala runs up to have the asari between here an alex, and sends of seven shots at her.

Alex whimpers quietly, "Jenya please don't do this."

Jason hurries to Renala's side and joins in on the close-range destruction. He fires another 10 rounds into Jenya, shouting angrily as he does.

Jenya 's barriers soon sputter and fail. She lets out the distinctive proto-adjutant shriek as their rounds strike her. Jason's last shot goes through her head, causing the asari to drop dead on top of Alex.

Alex lies there, beginning to cry softly. "This is stupid.."

Jason stands in place, his shoulders rising and falling with each breath as he keeps his Revenant trained on the dead asari.

Renala lowers her weapon, just standing there, looking at the dead asari with deep regret. "I...," she begins in a murmur, tears still trickling from her eyes. "I'm sorry, Jenya.... I'm so sorry."

Jason drops to his knee and tosses his Revenant aside. He slowly pulls the asari off of Alex and lays her down gently on her back. "I-..." he begins to speak, but instead simply shakes his head before lowering his gaze to the ground.

Alex curls up into a ball and just cries her poor little heart out. "This was a... a terrible terrible... This was a terrible idea."

Renala takes another deep breath and extends a hand towards the girl. "We... have to go on," she murmurs. "Noone else dies today."

Alex takes Renala's hand, still sniffling. "O-okay.." She keeps her head down, not wanting people to see her crying face.

Jason remains on his knee until Renala speaks. He nods slowly to her words. "No one else..." he agrees, scooping his weapon off the ground. "We can still make it out of here..."

Renala wraps her arms around the girl, giving her a hug, though it's a little awkward as they're both in armor and Renala being half a head shorter than Alex.

Alex nods, and hugs her back. "Okay, we can do this." She pulls away, and pulls a smile, which is ruined by a sniffle.

Jason stares down at Jenya for a few moments. He does his best to keep his composure as tears stream down his cheeks behind his helmet before silently walking past Renala and Alex and proceeding to the nearest electronic door. "She... She wouldn't want us standing around wasting time..." he manages.

Renala pats the human's shoulder before wiping her own tears. "Yeah, let's get going," she says as she turns towards Jason, falling into step behind him.

Alex follows the two, hugging herself tightly.

(Comms) Someone care to fill us in on what that was all about?

(Comms) Jenya... *Sniff* She... turned. We had to... had to kill her. Goddess, I hate this fucking job.

Renala breathes shakily before ending the transmission.

Jason lowers his gaze to the ground upon hearing the report. He simply shakes his head and remains in place for a moment. Finally, he presses a hand against the green panel and raises his LMG. He's beginning to look a little sluggish. His movements are a step behind.

Leah shuts her eyes tightly. "This can't be happening... One-by-one... They're just-... Just picking us off."

Renala raises her weapon at the doorway as well.

Steve looks towards Leah before responding, "Sorry to hear that." he says, "She deserved better than that. But you've gotta keep it together, Ren. We're all pullin' for you guys back here."

Alex keeps her gun lowered to the ground, looking at the door quietly.

Jasper stops working momentarily and simply stares towards the console blankly. All of the loss is beginning to take its toll on him, and for the first time he's starting to wonder whether or not they'll actually make it out alive.

The door opens to a wide corridor leading up ahead to another door. About halfway through the corridor to the left there is another, narrower one going south. The bodies of three infected miners lie fallen in the corridor. At the end of it stand two LOKI mechs armed with Shurikens. One of them is missing an arm. "Unknown presence detected. Identify."

Jason peers down the hall with his Revenant raised. As soon as he spots the mechs, he takes cover against the door frame and peers out down the hall. "Shit..." he mutters to himself, "We've got two mechs. Can you two do something about that?"

Alex looks at Renala, "Do you wanna do this?"

Renala shakes her head. "As I said, I haven't worked on the Hahne-Kedar mechs before," she says, before looking at Alex. "Have you?"

The mechs can be heard repeating. "Identify."

Alex shrugs and sets down her gun, putting her hands up in a surrender way. She addresses the two mechs, "Uh, we're lost workers, trying to find the hangar. Can you assist us?"

Jason edges to the corner and shoulders his Revenant. He sights in on the one on his right as he watches to see how they respond. "I've got the one on the right." he announces.

Alex moves into the line of sight of the two mechs as she states their 'identities.'

The mechs pause briefly before raising their guns. "Invalid identification. Drop your weapons and wait to be detained."

Renala follows after the two and raises her gun at the mech. "No, thanks," she replies.

Alex... I'd recommend you get down... Now...

Alex completely disregards Jason and picks up her gun, and runs at the Mechs. "Fuck you guys!"

Both mechs open fire immediately, sending a hail of gunfire at Alex with their machine pistols.

Jason cusses under his breath as Alex charges the mechs. "Alex get the fuck down! NOW!"

Renala aims at the mechs, but holds fire. "Alex," she calls out, sternly.

Alex continues running a couple shots hitting her armor, but she ignores it the best she can. Alex unleashes a whole clip in the Armless Mechs head, and attempts to jump on the other ones back.

The mechs cut through Alex' shields before she can reach them and continue to fire. A lot of the human's shots misses due to firing while running, and the few that hit don't do much to take out the mech.

Renala starts running down the hall, as well. "Hey, assholes!" she shouts at them, trying to divert their fire. She stops and directs a biotic throw towards one of them, making sure not to hit Alex.

Alex trips, but forces herself to get back up and run again, not really giving a damn about what anyone says.

The LOKIs' gunfire should be piercing Alex' armor by now. They keep firing.

One of the mechs is struck by Renala's throw, causing it to crash against the wall and then fall on its face, spasming.

Renala reaches Alex' position and tries to latch onto her, a biotic shimmer forming around her form. If she manages to hold onto Alex, a small biotic sphere flickers into existence around them.

Alex tries to continue running away, and she begins coughing, blood dripping on the floor underneath her. "Renala let GO!" She screams, flailing, "I can DO THIS!" She begins coughing again, more blood running down her lower lip,

Renala does her utmost to hold her in place. "I don't want to lose you, kid," she says in a saddened murmur. The barrier flickers a little more as she continue pouring energy into it.

The still-standing mech continues to fire, the shots now striking Renala's barrier bubble. "Stop resisting and wait to be detained."

Alex whimpers, "Renala please. I don't want to be here anymore."

Jason starts down the hall with his Revenant raised. "I don't care if you have to fucking drag her! Get her to cover!" he shouts, waiting for the pair to turn the corner so he can fire.

Renala holds onto her. "We're getting out of here," she murmurs. "All of us. Is that clear?" She keeps pouring biotic energy into the bubble, a lot more than a skilled biotic would.

The mech reloads with the speed only a machine can manage, and then continues to fire.

Renala charges the barrier more as it continues to take fire. "Alex, I want you to run back to cover," she says. "Will you do that?"

Alex no longer has the energy to fight against Renala, "Why?"

Renala lets go of the barrier. "You're hurt, and I want us all to get back alive," she says and turns herself and alex around. "Please, the barrier's wearing me down bad. Don't argue."

Jason has nearly approached the pair. "Renala, stop fucking around with her!" he shouts, panic setting heavily into his voice, "Drag her! Throw her! I don't give a fuck what you do, just open up a shot for me!"

Alex looks down, "Okay." Alex turns away and runs for cover, not particularly in a hurry to do so.

Renala nods at Jason and stands against the wall, trying to catch her breath. It takes only five seconds of sustained fire before the barrier disappears.

Jason shouts an unintelligible stream of nothing as he holds down the trigger of his Revenant. He fires 20 rounds at the remaining mech

The mech's chest is shredded into a mess of parts and wiring and it collapses against the wall.

Renala sighs releaved as the fight is over, and starts walking back towards Jason and Alex.

Jason continues to march towards the intersection Alex took cover at. When he reaches it, he tosses his Revenant to the ground and pushes Alex against the wall. He slams his fist into the wall just above her shoulder. "What the fuck were you thinking!? Are you trying to get yourself killed!?"

Alex winces, and looks down to the ground. "I dunno."

You don't know!? You. Don't. Fucking. Know!? What in the hell is wrong with you!? You could have died! You could have gotten Renala killed!

Renala catches up with them. "Hey, let's get her injuries seen to," she says as she reaches for her medi-gel container and looking the woman up and down, "but Alex, can you promise us you don't do that again?"

Alex shrugs, and continues looking down, trying to hold back a smirk. "I guess."

You guess?

Alex nods.

Jason paces away from the woman and removes his helmet. He grunts loudly and whips his helmet at the wall, causing it to clamber around. His eyes are red and it's obvious that the events of the day have kicked his ass. "I am going home." he says, gritting his teeth as he attempts to speak as calmly as possible as he re-approaches Alex, "Do you understand that? Nothing is going to stop me from getting off this rock. I. Am not. Dying. Here. And I don't care if I have to drag your scrawny ass back to that fucking shuttle by your god damn hair. You're going home, too."

Renala places a hand on her shoulder. "Alex, this isn't a joke," she says. "I don't want to lose you. I care for you, and I did for Vaden and Jenya, and I miss them already. We're going to patch you up, then we're getting out of here." She looks her over for injuries.

Alex doesn't bother to look up at him, and closes her eyes. "Okay."

Jason stares at Alex for a few moments, breathing heavily before giving a resounding "Good." and collecting his tossed items. He leans against the wall for a minute or so with his helmet under his arm, running a gauntleted hand across his forehead and through his hair before finally replacing his helmet.

Renala starts applying medi-gel to the wounds, removing armor plates when necessary.

Alex has six bullet holes running from her right hip all the across to her left shoulder.

Renala looks at her worriedly as she removes the chest plate, shoulder pad and the armor covering her hip, and starts with the injuries in the middle of her. The amounts are generous, leading to her canister being almost empty after she's done with the last wound.

Jason has made his way over to the LOKI mechs. He grabs one of the mechs Shurikens and looks it over before holstering it on his other thigh. He searches them for any remaining thermal clips.

Alex sighs, "This is stupid."

It appears the mechs were running low on ammo. There is only one spare thermal clip.

Jason snatches up the spare clip and adds it to the rest.

sighs and calls back to Renala. "How bad is it?" he asks, expecting the worst at this point.

Renala sighs as she begins putting the armor pieces back on her. "You should be good for now," she says, "but please... I don't want you charging off again, okay?" After a few more seconds, she is done with the armor and pats her shoulder. She looks at Jason. "She'll live," she reports back.

Jason nods to himself and looks towards the door the mechs were guarding. "Then let's get moving." he states bluntly.

Renala takes a step back. "Maybe we should take you back to the hangar?" she offers.

Alex sits on the ground, wincing when she does so. "Can I just stay here?" She sets her head down. "Owwwwww."

Renala reaches a hand towards her. "No, you can't," she says. "I can carry you, if you'd like."

Alex shakes her head and stands, she groans and puts her hand over one of here wounds. "No, I can walk."

Renala nods. "You can lean on me if you'd like," she offers before looking at Jason. "So, what do you think, Jason?"

Jason shakes his head, sighing deeply. "I think I want to get out of here." he says, stating the obvious.

Alex shakes her head again, "No, I'm just going to take it. I, ow, put myself in danger so I'm just going to deal. Let's go."

Jason gives a nod and looks over the door near the mechs to see if it's unlocked.

The door is indeed unlocked.

Renala nods. "You're gonna be fine, Alex," she says with a small smile. "Just be careful." She follows Jason, approaching the door with her weapon raised.

Jason reaches out and presses the green panel before raising his LMG and preparing to scan the room for hostiles.

Alex follows the two, slouched over some and looking down at the ground.

The door opens to reveal square room with a multitude of inert control panels and displays as well as a few physical keyboards. The walls of the room have large glass windows in all directions looking out at the surface of the asteroid. A man wearing a Londinium Galactic administrator's outfit stands in the middle of the room with an M-4 Machine Pistol aimed at the door. He is quite obviously terrified.

Renala lowers her weapon as she sees the man, seeing that he's terrified. "Hello?" she asks.

Jason trains his Revenant on the man, clearly not nearly as trusting at this point as Renala. "You're not one of them..." he says, easing up slightly, "We're here to help. We were sent by Londinium Galactic to rescue any survivors. Just... Lower the weapon, sir."

Alex stays outside the room leaning against a wall.

Administrator lowers his weapon as a wave of relief washes over him. "Oh thank god. Are you the rescue team?"

Renala lowers her weapon completely, then nods, but defers to Jason to speak.

Jason lowers his weapon as well and gives a dejected sigh. "What's left of it, yeah." he admits, "What happened here?"

Administrator moves up to them. "Not now. Let's get out of here!"

Renala looks over the room. "Can we access the comms from here?" she asks.

Administrator shakes his head. "No, no.. there's no power."

A proto-adjutant is approaching the team from the hallway they came from. It is walking, but fairly quickly.

Jason has his back to the door currently, "We restored power to the comms." he says, "We just need to know how to access it so we can get a message back to our people and request extraction."

Renala is about to respond when she hears the footsteps, and spins around. Noticing the creature, she aims at it and gets to the opposite wall of where Alex is. She fires of 16 shots, including two armor-piercing ones.

Administrator shakes his head again. "The antenna is outside. Without the control center online it can't be accessed from here."

The proto-adjutant drops dead quite easily.

Administrator jumps at the gunfire, raising his pistol at the door - nevermind the fact that several people are in the way.

Jason spins around upon hearing Renala's gunfire. "Mother fuc-..." he cuts himself off and turns back to the man. His voice takes up a more anxious tone. "If the equipment here can pick up a signal for the comms, then surely we should be able to with an omni-tool." he says, "Right?"

Renala holsters her weapon and enables her omni-tool, trying to send out a request for a comm relay.

Administrator sighs. "No. I don't... I don't think so. You need to get much closer to use an omni-tool I think. Wires run from the antenna to this place. One of our technicans could've explained it... I don't... oh god, please, we have to get out of here." The man trails off into nervous trembling.

The comm relay cannot be reached.

Jason reaches out and puts a hand on the man's shoulder. "You have to calm down, sir. This is important... Until we're able to establish comms, we can't get out of here."

Administrator nods. "Then... then you need to power the control center. Or... go out to the antenna."

Jason looks to Renala, as he has little understanding of the power system.

Renala frowns as she turns back to them, letting her omni-tool dissipate. "The control center demnaded a lot, and the generators are streched thin," she says. "We had to shut down the turrets to get lights back on and the antenna online."

Administrator glances into the corridor nervously. "Well, figure it out. That's what you're here for, right?"

Jason glares at the man. "Yeah. That's what we're here for. To save you and your people. You know what that means if we fail?" he asks dryly, "Where's the antenna?"

Administrator looks a bit uncomfortable at Jason's response. He moves over to the southern windows and points out at the antenna, which is visible some distance away. Also visible through the windows are a round structure to the west with an elevated pathway that leads between it and the main facility. To the north the mine entrance would be seen with two prefab shelters outside it.

Alex sits down, bowing her head.

Renala looks through the window. "I can't go outside," she says, "but using a comm antenna should be straight-forward."

Jason stares out at it and shakes his head. "How do we get to it?" he asks, "What's the quickest route?"

Administrator thinks for a moment. "The... the main airlock, I think. Or maybe you could get a vehicle from the garage."

Jason gives a frustrated grunt. "And where's the garage!?" he asks impatiently, "Or the main airlock? I need details."

Renala glances back into the corridor. "Didn't we come across an exit in the door we checked before going back to power the doors?" she says.

Administrator looks back at Jason. "It, uh... the lower floor."

Jason is stewing under his helmet. He bites down hard for a moment to keep from snapping at the man. "Where? Details!" he says, his voice giving away just how frustrated he is. He glances towards Renala and gives a nod, "We did... But I'm not walking all that way on my own unless there's no other choice."

Administrator cowers away slightly from Jason. "I-... what do you want from me? I'll show you, just... get me out of here!"

Jason glances out the window once more. "You think any of those... Things-... Can survive out there? They gotta breathe, right?"

I have no idea, Jason. At least they won't be able to jump at you out there.

Renala steps out into the hallway. "I'm not equipped to go outside," she says. "Maybe I can help with the shuttle?"
