Something close to eight hours have passed since Ilyna left the cabin with Li. The girl has remained quiet, following whereever Ilyna goes. She's been scribbling ever since being supplied with the means - at least that hasn't changed. Quiet concentration. Crew and Redrock personnel alike have passed through the galley. No one is all that talkative. Lucy has returned to the bridge after eating and cleaning herself up. Words have
Ilyna has been content to sit next to Li up in the Galley and let this day go by. Ilyna has attempted to talk with Li every now and then about her drawings, what she'd like to do when they get back, and other topics she hoped wouldn't remind her of the ordeal they've been through. Ilyna went down to the infirmary about one hour after leaving the cabin to check on Oxaris, hoping that her decision to not wake
Halisi eventually emerges from the cabin after finding both Li and Ilyna gone. She emerges atop the ladder, having done her best to smoothen out her hair, but with neither brush nor mirror her success has been limited. In borrowed clothes and considerably less graceful appearance than usual she makes her way into the galley. The rest has clearly done much to reenergize her however - she probably got a better night's sleep
than most on the ship thanks to pure exhaustion. She smiles faintly as she spots Ilyna and Li, stopping with a hand on the edge of the couch. "There you are."
Ilyna is not happy about it, but for now she accepts it and let her draw in quiet. She does occasionally look at her drawings, to see if there's any topic of conversation to derive from that. When Halisi emerges, she looks up at her with a small smile. "I didn't want to disturb you," she says. "Have you slept well?" Ilyna looks a bit exhausted and tired despite her best efforts to hide it; last night's sleep
Halisi nods. "Yes, actually." she says, her smile lingering for a moment before she heads over to the kitchenette, navigating the still mostly-unfamiliar layout until she realizes that someone else has already brewed up some coffee. "I... appreciate it. Having an actual bed certainly helped." She fills up a cup, shooting a brief glance towards the two as she does. "What have I missed?"
Ilyna ponders that question for a moment. "Jason and Nathan had a heated conversation this morning." She casts a glance towards the stairs. "And Oxaris had a... complication, but Senya got that under control and she is stable for now." Ilyna frowns, she had no better way to describe it than that. She does leave out the turian's fault in it, though, and hers for not being more alert around her. "Other than
Halisi nods softly, letting out a quiet sigh as she returns to the table, cup in hand. She doesn't take a seat. "Complication?" she asks with a frown. "I'll... make sure to check in with Senya and relieve her. It was very kind of her to take the first shift looking after Ortoratus. I had not intended to keep her waiting for so long."
Ilyna frowns; she didn't want to admit it, but she doesn't want Halisi leaving so soon. It was selfish, she knew. They'll have time to spend together later, and Senya deserved the chance to rest no less than Halisi did. "Yeah, it... didn't look good, but she was fine when I stopped by the infirmary... an hour later I think," she says. "It's been a long, slow day."
Halisi sighs softly as she studies the tired, worried asari. A moment couldn't hurt, could it? She really needed to eat something regardless. She carefully puts the cup down by the edgemost seat before going to fetch a yoghurt from the fridge. "We'll be back home soon." she offers, briefly flashing a gentle smile as she glances over at first Ilyna, and then Li as she mixes some processed grains into the yoghurt. "And we'll
Ilyna smiles briefly when Halisi joins them at the table, listening to her. "We always do," she repeats, placing a gentle hand on Li's back. "I look forward to tomorrow." She frowns as she adds, "Ehanis informed dad that we left, and... I'd like to let her know that we're safe."
Halisi returns to the table, yoghurt in hand. She takes a seat next to Ilyna, stirring the grains into it with a spoon. "I imagine there's a lot of people that will be relieved to learn all of us are safe." she says with a small nod. Another quiet sigh follows as she studies Ilyna.
