An asari in casual – with obvious kinetic shielding – clothing and a holstered pistol enters the hospital and looks around. She approaches the VI clerk. "Hello, I am here to see Jelvan Darennon," she says, getting right to the point. "If he asks, I bring a message." The asari has a lilac complexion with some faint white markings on the cheeks. An empty, but locked sky-car is parked outside. (Gisle)

Mendez is seated in the lobby looking over a datapad, appearing to be quite uncomfortable in the small chair. He takes notice of the armed asari and listens in as she approaches the VI. Upon confirming her interest in Darennon, he sighs and sets his datapad aside. He lifts his forearm and begins typing as soon as the orange haptic interface of his omni-tool appears.

VI: "That patient is currently listed as recovering from surgery. Visitors are urged to not disturb any patients. Do you require directions?"

Asari nods. "Yes, please," she simply answers. (Gisle)

Tyranniac | The VI's holographic representation disappears, replaced by a map projection showing the location of Darennon.

Asari inspects the map for a brief moment before nodding. "Thank you." She turns away and starts moving towards the room indicated by it, not paying much, if any, attention to others in the lobby. (Gisle)

Mendez stands from his chair once the haptic interface dissipates and begins following the asari, walking at a swift pace to catch up to her. Once within arm's range, he reaches out and places a gauntleted hand on her shoulder. "Gonna have to insist you give Mr Darennon his space." he says, allowing his free hand to hover over his holstered sidearm.

Asari is more than a little startled, but regains composure rather fast. She takes a quick step forward and spins around. "I'll leave that up to him," she says. "This really can't wait." (Gisle)

Mendez shakes his head slowly. "I don't think you're following me. It's not up for debate." he says sternly, "Now how about you tell me how you know Darennon and, more importantly, how you knew he was here?" His hand remains near his sidearm.

Asari folds her arms. "And it's your business because...?" she says. "Listen, if you're one of his collegues, then you wouldn't be wasting my time right now." (Gisle)

Mendez furrows his brow. "It's my business because I nearly had a building pulled down on me over that little shit. Now who the fuck are you, and what do you want with the salarian?" he responds, clearly becoming agitated.

Asari frowns. "Oh, so you're with them? Well, that's what you get for thinking nobody would miss him," she says, clearly not very sympathetic. "I'm here to give him an order, and hope his brain's not too rattled to verify it and come with me." (Gisle)

Mendez chuckles dryly and shakes his head. "No. You're really not. The fuck is wrong with you people? You really think you can just stroll in here after what happened?" He grips his pistol but doesn't draw it yet. He glances around at the other people moving about. "I'm not too into the idea of ruining everyone's day. So I'm gonna give you an opportunity to turn around and leave. I suggest

you take it."

Tyranniac | Halisi glances at Mendez and the asari from where she's standing in the corridor, talking to a nurse. She slides a hand in to her pocket.

Asari sighs. "Listen, I have to return with him," she says. "They've issued the order, and they won't just give up." (Gisle)

Mendez stares at the asari for a moment, somewhat in disbelief at how oblivious she seems. "That so?" he asks, "Then go right ahead..." he continues, nodding down the hall towards Darennon's room, "Be my guest. Just remember, I gave you a way out."

Asari snorts. "Why don't you talk to your boss?" she says. "Ask him how much the salarian is worth. And I'm talking about credits." Her omni-tool beeps, but she mutes the sound after a quick glance. "And yes, they're keeping track of me." (Gisle)

Mendez raises an eyebrow. "Uh huh... I'll get right on that..." he says sarcastically, although he releases the grip of his pistol and lifts his forearm. He begins poking at the haptic interface once again as it appears. "So who is this 'they'?" he asks, peering over the top of his omni-tool interface, "Darennon's people?"

Yes. And they're expecting I respond to them very soon that all is going according to plan. And before you ask, it's not his team from Aroste. (Gisle)

Mendez lowers his arm as the haptic interface dissipates once again. "Well, looks like no-can-do. We're not done with Darennon yet." he says with a smirk, "Leave me your contact info and I'll get the head honcho in touch with you. Maybe you can see about getting your friend back in one piece when we're done with him. That's the best I can do for you."

Asari sighs. "They'll get into contact with you, then," she says. "No guarantees they'll be patient, though." She starts walking towards the exit, enabling her omni-tool to type a quick message. (Gisle)

Mendez gives a shrug and watches as the asari makes her way out of the hospital. Once out of sight, he begins typing up a response to Vasquez.

Tyranniac | Halisi slowly relaxes, focusing on her conversation with the nurse once more.

Mendez looks away from his omni-tool and mutters to himself before returning to the much-too-small seat he was previously sitting in. He gives Halisi a nod and a grunt as he passes by.

Asari exits the building and steps into the sky-car, and then takes off. (Gisle)
