It's 1pm on the 24th of December. Uvena had a few errands to run, and won't be here for a while.
#VVApartment – October 14, 2020
The apartment is cleaner than it has ever been since they moved in, and the lights have found their way out of the packaging and onto the Christmas tree and along the celing of their living room. The curtains are open, letting in a lot of natural light into their living room while it lasts. Va'ynna has hung up a star-shaped lamp behind the curtains in their bedroom window, but that is the extent of decoration she has
Va'ynna has wrapped the gifts for Victoria and Uvena, making sure to wrap the latter at the Respite. They're both soft and around the same size, wrapped neatly in the red/green paper they bought at the market, with a card attached to the ribbon. They are lying against the foot of the tree.
Va'ynna has arranged the Christmas cookies onto a plate that she just set down on the low table in front of the couch. It's still a few hours before guests arrive, though, but how else would she be able to sneak a taste of one of the cookies early? And that's exactly what she's doing right now. She's wearing a green shirt and simple black pants. And unlike the days before, she is quite relaxed and in a good mood.
Victoria has spent most of her morning preparing the meal for today, making sure the veggies have been peeled, the pork she was able to get her hands on have been prepared. The only thing she needs to do with the food now is bake them when needed. The presents Vicky got her sister and Va'ynna have been wrapped, both of the presents are roughly around the same size and uses the same
Va'ynna stands back up, wiping away any trace of the quality control with the back of her hand. "Enila will send the sky-car over in a few hours, by the way," she says, glancing towards Victoria. "Do you errands to run? Or... gifts to deliver? I need to deliver Li and Ilyna's gift, but we could make a stop on the way there if you want."
Victoria does one last check of the food she has prepared and ready to cook to make sure she has not forgotten anything, before turning her attention to Va'ynna. "No errands to run, I got everything I need for dinner. Only thing I have not prepared is the gravy but that can wait until I start cooking." She walks over to Va'ynna. "No gifts to deliver, me and the crew are going out the day
Va'ynna nods. "Good," she says. "I didn't think we would have time to spare." Va'ynna sits down on the couch, and grabs Victoria's hand to pull her down to sit beside her with a tight-lipped smile on her face. "I also didn't know you were so good at cooking," she says. "I may start expecting dinner from you more often." Her tone is light-hearted.
Victoria is pulled down to the couch. "I think I am average at cooking. Plus it is only a skill I bust out once in a while." Vicky throws her arm around Va'ynna's shoulders. "But I think you could convince me to cook a little more often if the right offer is made."
Va'ynna leans on Victoria, but doesn't throw an arm over her shoulder. "Such as?" she ponders aloud with one raised eyebrow; her tone playful.
Victoria smiles at Va'ynna. "Well, this moment right now I'll take as payment for my skills today." She moves to plant a kiss on Va'ynna's forehead. "But I am sure we can work out a make more enjoyable deal for the next time I cook."
Va'ynna hums in mock thoughtfulness, and shifts a bit to make herself a bit more comfortable. This has not been a stressful day. Va'ynna got up at a reasonable hour, and enjoyed spending time on decoration even if she had to bring out her biotics to attach some of the lights along the ceilig. Still, having a moment to relax and look at their plans for the day having taken shape in front of them may be her favorite
moment of the day so far. Her smile gets more tight-lipped as she once again tries to bait a straight answer out of her. "Such as?"
Victoria pulled Va'ynna in closer, her smile turning to a smirk. "Now if I told you, you would not stop blushing until tomorrow morning. Is that what you really want?" Victoria teased. She looks around the room to allow herself to take in Christmas decoration around the room and appreciate it all.
Va'ynna cannot help but grin at Victoria's answer in a non-answer, but she blushes regardless. "I guess it can... wait," she says, "but... I'm sure that could be arranged." She plants a kiss on Victoria's cheek before letting out another contented sigh.
Victoria just continues to smile to herself content in this moment together. "Do you have tomorrow off as well or just today? Because if you do, we could have a lazy movie day just by ourselves." She wanted to try and organise a plan for tomorrow, if Va'ynna did have the day off.
Va'ynna gives a gentle shake of her head. "No, but... I can ask for another day off when Varisa has settled in," she says. "Maybe... the day after you've gone out with your crew, so that you're... not home alone nursing your hangover." A soft giggle escapes her.
Victoria lets out a puff of air. "Pffft, me get a hangover. I've have not had one of those for years. I'll be fine." She says defending her drinking habit.
Va'ynna gives an unsure hum. "When was the last time you went out drinking with your crew?" she says. "And... how likely is it that you'll be matching the krogan's drinking pace?"
Victoria sits and thinks for a moment, trying to remember the exact date she was out drinking with the full crew. "The last time I went out really drinking with the crew was before my ship was stolen." She stops for a second, she looks at Va'ynna and give a shrug. "Maybe, depends on the mood for the night."
Va'ynna frowns. "Please, just... don't let a call from the hospital be what wakes me the next morning," she says in a light tone with some genuine concern mixed in.
Victoria puts on a shocked face. "Hey I might be a drunk, but I promise you right now I won't end up in the hospital." She leans over and gives Va'ynna another kiss on the forehead. "But if I do, you can yell at me while I have a hangover." She says in a joking tone.
Va'ynna smiles slightly at the kiss. "That... I can promise you," she jokes back, though she may make good on that promise. She lays her head on Victoria's shoulder, and lets that topic of conversation go for now. "So, did you sister say when she'd be here?"
Victoria smiles at the sitting arrangement. "Not sure what actual time she will be here, but she will be here before dinner."
