#Catacombs – March 12, 2015

The elevator continues its loud descent into the dark hole. Patches of steel-gray moss cover the parts of the shaft that the elevator never touches.

Damien taps his foot in a rhythmic pattern, clutching the firestorm tightly.

Ilyna looks over the grenade launcher, finding out how it works after a moment. She has never used anything like it before.

Fatsani holds out the grenade launcher she took for Ilyna to see, giving her a quick rundown of the mechanisms.

Jason removes his Revenant from his back once more. He gives Ilyna a concerned glance as she looks over the weapon. "The... Uhh..." he taps the barrel of the launcher, "...Point that end at the enemy."

Oh, how y'all fill me with confidence...

Damien chuckles.

If the asari gets me killed, know that I died believing you're all morons.

Ilyna chuckles. "Oh, thanks, I didn't know that," she says, not sounding all that serious.

Vaden looks around at the rails for the elevator sceptically.

We love you too, Jattic.

Shut up.

Jattic gives Damien something that resembles a smirk. Although batarianized... With lots of teeth.

Victoria chuckles ''I like this batarian.''

Damien grins stupidly under his helmet, giving Jattic a thumbs up.

A doorway comes into view, and the elevator soon comes to an unsteady stop. The sliding doors are stuck half-open.

Jason lets out a deep breath and begins shaking his leg nervously. "Seriously..." he says, casting a glance around at the others, "We watch out for one another. Protect each other at any cost. You know our code. If one of us is cut, we all bleed." He steps up to the door and slides through the opening sideways.

Ilyna prepares her biotics when the doorway comes into view, but puts the launcher on her back.

We'll be alright, boss.

Damien squeezes through the gap and raises the firestorm once on the other side. His tech armour still glows its orange hue.

On the other side of the door is a short corridor that is oddly clear of moss considering the shaft outside. What's left of what must be a very old security camera hangs from the far corner of the ceiling, clearly non-functional. There is a single doorway at the opposite end of the corridor, but it is closed.

Ilyna proceeds through the doorway next, and then draws her Hurricane.

Jason takes a few steps into the hall, keeping his weapon raised. He glances back over his shoulder, "Clear..." he announces.

The hallway has no light sources, lit only my the team's flashlights and whatever light manages to reach down from the lightning strikes above the shaft.

Uh... Huh... Well this is homely...

Damien takes a few steps past Jason, keeping the flamethrower at the front of the group.

Fatsani enters next, Crusader readied.

Jason lowers his Revenant when Damien passes him.

We should get the rest of the team down ASAP, boss.

Jason gives a nod. "We'll hold right here until our whole team is ready to move."

Damien crouches to one knee and keeps the flamethrower aimed down the corridor.

The right-hand wall of the hallway suddely comes alive with orange lights. A computerized voice can be heard from speakers the locations on which are unclear: "Unauth-auth-auth-authorized-d-d-d-d presence detected-d-d. Initiating. Initiating. Initiating containment-t-t-t-t-cedur-z-z-z-t-k-t." Ilyna will likely notice that the voice is speaking the main asari tongue, although in a slightly outdated way.

Victoria follows the group out of the elevator with her avenger at the ready.

Jattic remains behind, waiting for everyone to leave the elevator so he can send it back up.

Jason looks up arbitrarily, attempting to figure out where the sound is coming from. "Wha-... The fuck does that mean?"

Damien jumps at the sudden voice. "Orange lights... Orange lights are usually bad when flashing."

Ilyna raises an eyebrow. "I didn't get it, either," she says. "Initiating containment cedur... what?"

An orange forcefield is projected at the far end of the corridor, and it starts slowly moving towards them. The door they came through shudders slightly, as if it was supposed to close.

Uh...

Jason jolts back a few steps. "Alright! That's definitely not good! Everyone back!"

Ilyna nods and starts moving towards the elevator in a hurry, although letting the ones who just entered the hall exit first.

Jattic rushes off the elevator and moves to hold the doors open in case they might slam shut.

Victoria rushes back to the elevator

Fatsani keeps her shotgun aimed at the force field while backing away. "Shit..."

Damien doesn't need to be told twice, turning around and realising he's the closest to the forcefield. He waits for the others to board first, casting a glance back at the force field every second.

Ilyna steps aside once inside the elevator room again, the biotic shimmer around her growing stronger.

Jason hurries out of the hall as soon as he can, assisting Jattic in holding the back door open by prying one side away from the other. "C'mon, Monroe!"

Fatsani backs out of the room, keeping her weapon ready, but making room for Damien.

Damien turns and sprints towards the doors, smoothly holstering the firestorm mid-run. He slips through the gap, breathing a quick sigh of relief.

Jason releases his grip on the door and quickly backs into the elevator, watching the forcefield glimmer down the hall.

Jattic backs from his side as well. "What is that?" he growls.

Uh... Some sort of purge program? Or a security system?

Ilyna waits for everyone to get out before holding up a biotic barrier-wall right outside the doorway in case something else is to follow. "The voice called it containment-something," she says.

The forcefield slowly makes its way through the hallway and back before shutting down, returning the hallway to darkness once the orange glow is gone. "P-P-Purge compl-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-ete."

Vaden looks puzzled. "Established by cult? Seems unlikely. Facility looks much older."

Ilyna holds the barrier, in case the commotion attracted attention from further within. "Do you think you could cut power to this?" she glances at the salarian.

Jason furrows his brow and glances at Vaden. "I don't give a fuck who established it, or how old this place is. Can you-... Do your electric boogaloo wizardry and get us past it?"

Vaden peers through the doorway. "Possible. But not if forcefield comes back when we re-enter."

Jason sighs loudly. "Well... Only one way to find out." he says. He steps past Vaden and back through the gap between the doors.

Ilyna lets the barrier go as Jason enters.

(Comms) Just thought I'd update y'all, seems- oh, piss it's happening again.

The voice comes back immediately: "Un-n-n-n-n-nauthorized presence detected. Initiating containment-ent procedur-ur-ur-ur-ure."

Victoria walks into the room with the contaiment procedure.

(Comms) What's happening again?

Fatsani pulls Victoria out by the arm. "Stay out of there, you stupid girl."

The forcefield returns, and starts moving across the hallway once more.

Damien fires off an overload at the shield in sheer frustration.

Oh for fuck's sa-.... There has to be some kind of sensor tripping it.

Jason raises his Revenant and puts a few rounds into the camera as he backs through the gap in the door.

(Damien_Monroe) (Comms) Security system. Some sort of force field that looks really intent of turning us to ash. Has us pinned in the elevator.

''I was trying to figure out where the sensor for the thing is.'' She said, trying to cover up her stupid mistake.

The forcefield sputters as it is hit by the overload, and then dies halfway through the room.

Damien blinks. "That... Actually worked...".

Vaden tilts his head. "Wiring must be faulty. Decayed."

Jason looks just as surprised. "...Did it?" he asks. "He glances over at Vaden with a shrug, "Well, shit... Get to work. See if you can-... Connect, or whatever."

Vaden moves into the hallway apprehensively, no doubt wishing to make sure the forcefield won't come back online before making his way to the door at the far end and taking out his omni-tool, shining a faint orange glow on the walls around him.

Jason steps back through behind Vaden, looking as if he expects the defenses to kick back on at any moment.

Damien follows behind Jason, omni-tool primed and ready.

Ilyna remains in the elevator room, looking into the hallway with a bit of concern.

Fatsani goes back into the hallway as well, gun lowered.

Victoria follows the group.

Vaden lets out an "Aha!" as the door slides open, revealing another pitch-black room.

Ilyna starts walking into the hallway once she sees the door opening.

Jason lets out a deep breath as the door opens. "Send the elevator back up, Jattic." he orders.

Jattic gives a nod and looks over the elevators controls. He studies them for a few moments before poking the button to raise the elevator.

(Comms) Are you past the security obstacle?

(Comms) We're in the clear. Sending the elevator back your way.

Damien draws his firestorm and steps through first, using his tech-armour as a light source.

Vaden activates his omni-tool flashlight before moving into the room, sweeping around.

Jason follows behind Damien, keeping his weapon lowered.

Ilyna doesn't spend a second longer than necessary in the purge room, walking through it in a quick pace to join up with the others. She draws her SMG once she's inside.

The room is medium-sized and of simple design, with concrete floors, walls and ceilings. The remains of some chairs and a table can be seen along one wall - the plastic is partially decayed, but the metal parts remain. There is what appears to be a desk at the far end of the room. There is one door on each of the four walls, with an extra one next to the door the group is emerging from. All of them have physical signs above them, reading

'Security Check', 'Laboratories', 'Personnel' and 'Engineering'. 'Exit' is written over the door they came from.

I vote we wait for the rest before we begin snooping about.

Ilyna enables the omni-tool's flashlight and looks around at the signs, then for what could be used for cover.

Jason nods as he slowly scans around the room. "Absolutely. Hold position here until our krogan arrives."

Jattic stays near the door, tightly gripping his firestorm.

Damien drops to one knee, tapping the side of his firestorm.

Fatsani remains in the hallway, shifting her view between the two doors - she doesn't seem too concerned about the forcefield coming back.

Halisi has totally been doing stuff all along. She is in the new room with the others.

Much like the voice earlier, the text on the signs is asari.

This place looks like it could be big... This could take a while.

The elevator once again reaches the bottom of the shaft, coming to a halt reluctantly - once more shuddering faintly.

Ilyna points her flashlight at one of the doors, one with the 'laboratories' sign. "Maybe start there?" she suggests. "If they're planning on releasing those things, they would be in the laboratories, right?"

Jason gives a nod. "As good a place to start as any."

Damien jabs a finger at engineering. "I think we should start there. There might be more security systems and I'd prefer if they were shut down or at least reprogrammed to think we're friendly."

Leah starts through the only door available and passes through the hall. "Well..." she begins once she arrives at the others, "This looks fun."

The elevator lets out a groan before suddenly collapsing, tumbling down the shaft and taking the krogan with it.

Damien whips around.

Philip just barely manages to hang on to the edge of the shaft. "Oh god! Oh fuck! Help!"

Damien sprints down the hallway at the sounds of distress.

Fatsani , already being in the hallway starts moving towards the elevator shaft, but she's passed by Damien.

Damien skids on his knees and grabs Phillip's arms, dropping the firestorm onto the ground next to him. "S'alright kid, I got you. Up you get!" Damien starts to pull Phillip up with a slight grunt.

Jason follows right behind Damien. "What the fuck happened!?" he shouts, reaching down for Philip's other hand, "C'mon, grab my arm."

Ilyna walks out into the hallway too at the noise, but doesn't run since there's enough people doing that already.

Philip clambers up the ledge and into the hallway with Damien's help, panting heavily as he looks back at where the elevator was. "Shit, I-... shit. It-... it fell. It fell."

Where's Garr!?

Damien pats Philip's shoulder. "I'm guessing... Down there... Shit."

Leah returns to the elevator along with Ilyna. "Oh no..." she gasps, "Garr was on the elevator..."

Fuck!

Ilyna looks on with wide eyes before enabling her comms. "Garr, are you alright?" she asks. "Can you here me?"

Jason cups his hands around his mouth, not quite as head-clear as Ilyna, and shouts into the hole. "GARR!"

(Comms) Alpha, Bravo, report! What's happening down there?

(Comms) The fucking elevator gave! Garr was still on it and he's not responding!

(Comms) Shit... you have to keep moving. There's nothing to be done.

(Comms) Wha-... It's Garr! We can't just leave him down there!

(Comms) What do you want to do? Jump down after him?

Leah moves over to the edge, peering down into the hole. "He's a krogan. He'll be fine.... Right?"

Fatsani looks down the elevator shaft - there is no sign of the bottom, the shaft disappears into darkness.

(Comms) Yes! That's absolutely what I want to do, if that's what it takes! We're not just leaving him down there!

Ilyna gets closer to the doorway, trying to look down into the hole, and whether the ladder extends down far enough.

shines her flashlight down, as well.

Vaden is still in the room with all the doors, shining his flashlight around.

Halisi moves up to the others. "There has to be something we can do..."

The elevator appears to have torn the lower part of the ladder off with it when it fell.

The flashlight shines down into the shaft, but does not reach the bottom.

... I'll go.

Damien peers down the hole.

Jattic scoff loudly. "He's a krogan battlemaster. A little fall isn't going to injure him. This place is quite deep, and it may be affecting comms. Our best bet is to continue our sweep. If we're unable to contact him when we're done, then we can begin to figure out how to-.... retrieve his body."

Damien looks at the ladder.

Oh...

Uh, never mind.

Jason glances at Damien. "Yeah..."

Fatsani nods in agreement with Jattic.

I could go down, but up isn't going to be easy unless there's some rapelling gear in one of the rooms.

Anyone got any rappelling gear, per chance?

(Comms) Wolfe. Report.

Jason shakes his head. "Not something I just carry around on me..." he sighs.

(Comms) I'm working on it, Linda! Give me a minute!

Jason winces as he realizes his outburst.

(Comms) Wolfe. Every second you waste is another second for the cultists to prepare for you.

Damien looks back at the group, sighing. He releases his grip on Philip's shoulder and grabs his firestorm, hefting it. "She's right, Jason. We have little choice here and losing Garr... We can't sacrifice anymore manpower."

Fuck!

(Comms) Fine! But we're not leaving this place without Garr! Dead or alive! Start coming up with a way for us to get out of here. Something to hoist us up or something...

Jason stomps back down the corridor towards the main room.

Damien follows behind Jason at a more slower pace. He glances at the others as he passes.

Halisi doesn't seem to happy about the idea of leaving anyone behind - she follows back into the room.

Leah glances down the hole once more with a sigh before following behind Damien. "He'll be fine... He's a tough one." she says, trying to convince herself.

Philip gets on his feet, still looking rather shaken. He moves into the main room with his gaze low.

Vaden is still keeping watch in the dark room.

Ilyna stares down the hole for a few more moments. "I'll never forgive myself if he dies down there," she murmurs. She is the last one to return through the hallway.

Fatsani waits in the hallway, and moves back with Ilyna.

Keep focused guys. You just have to block him out for now, until we're safe. We won't lose anyone else.

Jason paces around the room momentarily, clearly frustrated with his own decision. "Alright... We've got too big of a team to take these halls without getting in each others way. Let's split up. One team hits the labs, the other will check out security. Keep an eye out for anything we could potentially use to climb down that elevator shaft."

Jason glances at Ilyna. "We're not leaving without Garr." he assures the asari.

Flamethrower to each group?

Ilyna nods. "Understood," she says. "My team can take security."

Jason gives a nod. "Jattic's got one. But Bravo is looking a little light without Garr-..." he glances over Bravo team, "No offense. Fatsani, stick with 'em."

Fatsani nods, and moves over to the door marked 'Security Check', taking cover beside it with shotgun in hand.

Jason moves over to the door marked 'labortories'. "Alpha, stack up." he orders.

Jattic moves over beside Fatsani and awaits Ilyna.

Damien moves up to the laboratories and stacks up against one side of the door, preparing his flamethrower.

Ilyna makes her way over to the door and looks for a way to open it.

The door has a button on it. The light has long since gone out, but it might be functional.

Leah moves over to the door, standing head on from it with her Mattock raised.

Jason glances back at his team with a nod before reaching out and tapping the button.

Vaden makes his way to the security door, standing back a bit with omni-tool ready.

Ilyna raises her weapon at the door. "Open it," she says, nodding towards the button.

Philip reaches for his Mattock only to realize he lost it in the fall. He seems to consider mentioning this to someone, but doesn't have time.

Jattic presses the button on command and raises his firestorm at the door.

Damien swings into the room, flamethrower raised and primed to crispify some cultists.

Bravo team's door slides open - only getting stuck once or twice along the way. It opens up into a room that seems to run parallel to the hallway they came from. A long control panel with monitors and physical keyboards sit along the left wall - its covered in grime and dust, as well as some moss, much like the rest of the facility.

Jattic steps into the room, sweeping his firestorm about. "Clear." he says. "Looks like nobody has used this room for a while."

Alpha team's door opens up into a long corridor - just as dark as the room they came from.

Fatsani remains in the main room rather than entering, keeping an eye on their rear.

Clear.

Jason steps into the corridor beside Damien and begins to set down it, flashing his helmet's light about.

Damien moves down just behind Jason and to the side, keeping his weapon at the ready. His tech armour casts a dull orange hue to the area around him.

Ilyna enters after Jattic, shining the flashlight around. "Noran, do you think you can do anything with this?" she says. "Not even my grandparents spoke like that... was it a VI? So, I know this tech must be old."

As Jason's flashlight shines down the corridor a flash of movement can be seen at the end, but it is gone just as soon as the light comes on it. Something clatters further down the hall.

Damien pauses, slowly turning his helm to look at Jason. A dull blue light emits from his optics. "You hear that?"

Jason gives a nod. "Definite movement. Couldn't see much, though. Eyes and ears, people." he says before continuing, slowly, towards the end of the corridor.

Leah keeps her weapon lowered as she follows the two in front.

Vaden moves into the room and looks over the console. "Archaic technology. I am not certain, but I will attempt." He looks at the keyboards for a while before pressing one of the keys. One of the monitors comes online - it is remarkably somewhat functional, despite what much be at least centuries of neglect. It bathes the room in a faint blue light for a few seconds before going out, sending sparks flying.

Damien raises his flamethrower and falls silent, keeping it focused forward, ready to consume the hallway in flame.

Philip looks around at the darkness surounding him with dread - his only flashlight was that on his rifle.

Jason nods towards the first door on their left and stacks up on it. "Let's start our sweep..." he sighs, giving another glance in the direction of the movement.

Damien takes up position on the other side of the door. "On your go."

Halisi moves slightly behind the rest of the group, keeping a tight grip of her Predator handgun.

Ilyna frowns. "Any luck?" she asks the salarian. She then looks towards Philip. "Where's your weapon, Lacour?"

Jason nods once more to Damien and then taps the interface.

Leah takes a knee in the hall, aiming her Mattock further down the hall.

Damien swings into the room, weapon raised.

The door only opens about a third of the way, but on the other side is a tiny room filled with nothing but rotting cleaning supplies and a foul stench.

Philip jumps slightly as Ilyna adresses him. "Oh, er... I... dropped it, ma'am."

Do you have a sidearm?

Damien immediately backs out. "Oh, christ...".

Jason swings in with his Revenant once Damien is out of the way. "Jeeze..." he mutters, followed by a cough. He takes a step back and taps the door's interface to close it. "Let's keep moving." he orders as he swiftly stalks down the hall to the next door on their left.

Vaden mumbles a response and moves to another keyboard, then jumps back as a hologram is projected into the middle of the room - the light blue image is fuzzy and can't seem to stay still, but it shows an asari with distinctive zig-zagging facial markings on her cheeks.

Halisi looks into the room with distaste and then follows the others to the next door. On the righ wall, opposite to the door, is a broken glass window looking in to what appears to be a lab.

Philip shakes his head. "No ma'am."

Leah moves to the window to cover both it, and the rest of the hall while Jason and Monroe sweep the next room. She shines her headlamp into the room.

Ilyna takes her Phalanx pistol and hands it to him. "You can borrow mine," she says. She looks towards the monitor with a tilted head as it illuminates the room.

No complaints from me.

Damien takes position at the next door.

The asari hologram begins to speak: "Whoever f-f-found-... tzzkt... leave. Wh-wha-wha-wha-wha-what w-e-e-e-e-e-ee f-... bzzzg... our best-... dan-... tzzzgk ...d-d-d-d-d-... leave. Seal the exit-exit-exit."

As Leah shines her light into the lab, she'd see broken down laboratory equipment partially covered in the same gray moss. The laboratory has two doors in it.

Philip takes the Phalanx with a nod. "Than-..." He is interrupted as the hologram begins to speak.

Halisi moves uneasily down the hall and stays back a bit.

Ilyna frowns. "That doesn't sound good," she says.

Jason repeats the proccess, tapping the button and remaining against the doorframe so Damien can sweep the room with his flamethrower.

Leah continues to watch her zone. "Lab looks empty." she announces, "Two doors."

Damien swings into the room, weapon ready.

The door opens to reveal a medium-size room filled with the remains of old computer equipment and lots more moss.

Vaden shakes his head. "Not good... what were asari doing here?"

Clear.

Jason swings in to glance around, then closes the door before moving up to the corner at the end of the hall.

Damien follows.

I don't know, but whatever they found made them leave this place.

Jason swings around the corner with his Revenant raised.

Leah remains behind, watching the window.

As soon as Jason rounds the corner he's jumped by a cultist that pushes his Revenant aside and tries to wrestle him to the ground choke him with strength greater than a man of that size should have.

Jason allows his Revenant to be knocked aside and tries to get a hand on the man's throat as they tumble to the ground, trying to create some distance between himself and his attacker.

Damien raises his firestorm, but doesn't fire. He quickly holsters it and draws his Carnifex, aiming and waiting for ample opportunity to shoot.

Halisi is quick to react, raising her omni-tool at the attacker and setting off a neural shock. The armored cultist starts spasming on top of Jason.

Jason takes the opening to roll over and slam the cultist on the ground beside him. He climbs onto his attack and aims a punch at the man's jaw.

Damien holsters his pistol and draws the firestorm again, now just watching the one sided fight.

Leah looks down the corridor at the others. "What's going on!?" she calls out, but remains at the window.

The punch has little to no effect - no doubt in part due to the cultist's helmet. He soon drops out of the neural shock and yells out. "The Revelator guides us! You understand nothing!" He reaches up and grapples Jason's throat, trying to dig his fingers in.

Jason is having a brawl with a cultist!

Damien activates his omni-blade and holsters his firestorm again.

Ilyna looks towards the monitor again, trying to see if there's anything more to see or hear.

Vaden looks over the keyboard and lets out a sigh. "Nothing else I can do. The system is mostly broken down."

Jason uses his position on top of the cultist to easily drive a knee in the crook of the cultists elbow and attempts to pin it away from him. He reaches down and unholsters his Phalanx, pressing it against the man's helmet. "Sorry, asshole, I don't speak crazy." he says as he squeezes the trigger.

The cultist's arms drop limp to his sides, and the struggle is over.

Jason quickly stands up and scoops his Revenant up, reholstering his Phalanx. He lets out a deep breath and glances between the others. "Fucker came out of nowhere!"

Damien deactivates his blade. "Nicely done. Though I've heard better one liners."

Halisi looks down at the dead man with a thoughtful, perhaps slightly disturbed expression. "Why do they act like this?"

Brainwashing, implants?

Jason shakes his head and spins back around, facing down the new hall. "I was pressed for time." he says before addressing Halisi, "No idea... Don't really care, either. I just want them stopped."

Halisi looks at Damien. "Possibly... but why? Who would do that?"

Damien taps his helmet in thought. "Power crazy morons who want to rule the galaxy?"

Are you forgetting what they did to your friends? We're dealing with a whole new breed of nutjob here.

Damien gives the dead cultist a nudge with his foot. "Better we understand these freaks, the better we can combat them."

Jason continues to peer down the hall. "I've spent years trying to understand why they do what they do... I'm done trying to understand." he says, starting down the hall.

(Comms) Heads up, Bravo. Just encountered one of the cultists. They're definitely down here.

Halisi seems to consider examining the cultist closer, but as Jason continues down the hall she follows instead.

Damien shrugs at Halisi and follows after Jason, drawing his firestorm.

Ilyna nods to Vaden. "Good work," she says before enabling her comms. "Thanks for the heads up. We're done in the security room. We found some broken footage telling people to leave, but nothing more."

(Comms) Copy, start your sweep of the next area. We're nearly at the lab.

(Comms) Don't take any chances down there. Stick to your teams.

Ilyna points at the door across from them. "Let's start with Engineering," she says as she makes her way out of the room, looking around the lobby with her flashlight.

Fatsani nods and takes up position next to the door.

Philip takes the other side of the door, clutching Ilyna's Phalanx.

Jason stops at the first door on the left, repeating their proccess.

Leah leaves the window as the team rounds the corner. She takes a position against the right-hand hallway wall and keeps her sights trained on the far end of the corridor.

Ilyna approaches the door, raising her Hurricane somewhat, but waits for the others to catch up.

Damien does what he has done before.

Halisi moves up along with the others, still keeping an eye on the lab.

Jason taps the button to open the door.

Vaden shines his light around the room before joining the others.

Damien swings around, aiming the firestorm.

Jattic follows Ilyna's lead and takes a position beside the door, aiming his Firestorm at it.

Ilyna nods. "Open the door." A biotic shimmer starts forming around her in case something waits for them, and she raises her weapon fully at the door.

Jattic reaches out and taps the interface, seeing as those closest to it aren't, and readies his Firestorm.

Bravo team's door opens up to reveal a short corridor with a single, half-open door at the other end. Alpha team's door opens up into a hallway with one door at the far end and one to the left. A broken piece of metal tubing sits on the floor, half-overgrown with moss.

Clear.

Jason swings in as well. "Fuck... More hallways." he groans.

Ilyna aims down the hallway. "Looks clear," she says. "Take point, Kur'don. Check what's through the door on the other end."

Jattic nods silently and begins marching down the hall. Once at the end, he places a hand along the side of the door and peers through the crack.

The room on the other side has several broken down control panels as well as a somewhat intact glass window overlooking a room containing three large generators. There is one door to each side.

Jattic glances back. "Looks glear. Generators and more doors." he says as he taps the interface to open it the rest of the way.

The door doesn't open.

Vaden joins Jattic in the hallway. "Could be useful if we could restore more power."

Ilyna nods and starts making her way down the hallway. "Can you pry the door open?" she asks, looking at the batarian.

Jattic grunts and stares at the door. "I can try." he says. He holsters the flamethrower and grabs onto the left segment with both hands, straining against the metal.

The door reluctantly slides open with a grinding noise.

Batarian ingenuity.

Jattic pulls his Firestorm back out and steps through the door, swinging his weapon around as he scans the room.

The room appears no more hostile than at first glance - the partially shattered window reflects the light with a slight glare.

Jason lowers his weapon and glances at the others. "Alright, Monroe and I will see where this leads. We can't have anything getting behind us, though, so Leah?" he looks towards the woman, "Stay here and watch that hall. Halisi, stay with her. You see anything... You hear anything... Let us know. We'll be right back. If it looks like it's splintering off too far, we'll turn back."

Salarian, what can you do with this junk?

Halisi nods at Jason's instructions, shining her light down the hall.

On your go boss.

Leah nods as well and takes a knee in the doorway, aiming her Mattock and headlamp down the unexplored main hall.

Vaden enters the room and looks over the consoles. He shakes his head. "Broken down. Nothing I can do." He looks down at the generator with confusion. "Generators do not appear to be running. Listen. Silence."

Jason gives Damien a nudge. "Lead on, Monroe. Last thing I want is to get between that Firestorm and a nutjob."

Damien chuckles.

You got it.

Ilyna enters the room after the others. "Let's see where these doors lead before we return to the lobby," she says, then points to the door to her left (looking from the entrance). "Let's start with that one."
